Tested my Panasonic RF-562 DD2 DSP against a Sony ICF-19 DSP, which is an incredible radio for AM. Guess what? The Panasonic holds a weak signal much longer and picks the signal up much faster during fading. This is a HOT AM receiver! Radiojayallen rates the Sony 3 1/2 out of five stars. The Panasonic is a 3 3/4 and tunes easier than the Sony. The shortwave and FM perform very well too and the speaker is perfect for AM and isn`t bad on music. Nice and loud. This is a very good radio! I compared both these radios to a Sangean PR-D4w. which is very close in sensitivity to the best CCranes, and the Sony and Panasonic are only a bit less in sensitivity....noticeable...but they`re fine radios too! The Sangean holds a fading signal better than the Panasonic at night, but not by much. Everyone who loves AM should add these to their collection. Bought these radios because of your reviews, Todderbert. In fact, your reviews have added over a dozen radios to my collection! Thanks for helping us with these reviews. We`d be completely lost and confused without them and God only knows how much junk we`d buy looking for quality products.

It was intense with some lightening storms we had..this radio was super sensitive to it.

@@todderbert After using it for a week, I was a little disappointed in the finicky tuning but holy signals Batman, you're right the MW sensitivity is great! I didn't want to pay $48.99 so I decided to get a "as new in original box" for $37.95 since Amazon has such a great return policy. Well it even came with new batteries so that the hey. Shortwave tuning is tricky but receives fine, I don't listen to FM much so haven't checked out that aspect. DX'ing MW with this radio is just plain old nostalgic style fun!

A nice option for those wanting an old radio, but not the headaches of one worn out and needing fixing. My Soundesign 2223B broke. Tuning string wheel broke off an edge and the string frayed. Wouldn’t tune the whole band anymore.

Well done on the MW band scan, nice picture of the inside workings of this radio it would good to see these kind of pictures more often. Does this radio run for a long time on two D cell batteries?

Thank you Mickey, I tend to save most of my internal photos for my Patron supporters. Though many radios I don't try to open if they give me trouble. I don't have a nice shim tool to do it properly. I'm guessing around 70-100 hours for battery life.

650 & 690 are bothered by splatter from 670. It doesn't matter whether WSCR's IBOC is on, or not. WGN hasn't used IBOC for 9 years.

Interesting with WGN, That random time the noise was missing and I was able to listen to 710 WOR, and with 670 WSCR I found 680 CFTR one evening. Either they turn something off, lower the power output, or move the antenna?

Your right. WSCR does sometimes turn off their IBOC. HD radio has an interest audio delay. WSCR will turn off the HD radio IBOC service during Chicago Cubs home games, so those listening in the stands can hear the play-by-play as it happens, not 25 seconds after the ball has left the park.

আমি এই রেডিওতে বিবিসি বাংলা পেয়েছি, ভালো শুনতে পাওয়া যায়। কিন্তু তেহরান বা্্লা ও VOA বা্্লা এখনও পাইনি। আমার পুরানো Philips রেডিওতে তেহরান বাংলা শুনতে পেতাম কিন্তু VOA বা্্লা পাইনি। ৮/১০ বছর আগে শুনেছি। সম্ভবত বন্ধ হয়ে থাকতে পারে বাংলা কর্মসূচি।
