Hey Chris! I found you from YCImaging's channel. That looks like a really nice camera. Do you typically use Lumix to film and shoot photos? They're one camera company that I've literally never used, but I've heard good things about their filming capabilities. Would you recommend them over Sony for any specific reasons? As for me (My name’s Ryan!) I started creating content on RU-vid to help people live more meaningful lives. It really makes me sad to see people reflect on life and realize they could’ve done much more with the time they were blessed with! Watching other’s is one way we learn, so my goal is to be an example for others who need guidance on travel, self-development, and love in action! ❤️ Much love! 🤓 Keep chasing your dream and bringing value to your audience! 🙌🏼

Hey Ryan! Nice to meet cha! Yeah I currently shoot with them, also got a Canon 80D. Panasonic is an odd one, everything is great, lots of video features like Zebra, anamorphic, great pre-amps, great IBIS, slow motion, great colour etc everything really great, except the autofocus! And that’s very useful to creators like ourselves! What it means is you need to use it in manual 99% of the time for video. Photo wise, it’s fine, you can get away with the pulsing and re-confirming it does because only you see that. Another thing they use is a Micro 4/3 mount and sensor, so your low light and depth of field is reduced quite a bit. A 25mm equates to 50mm and you need to stay in sub f2 if you want some bokeh. So what I would recommend is; if you want great video and don’t mind going manual, then the Gh5 or a black magic pocket 4K/ 6K - 6K better option as it’s EF mount, are great options. The S5 I use here is the full frame GH5 essentially and worth the extra money. I forgot to mention they are 10-bit as well so colour grading is fantastic too. BMPCC shoots it’s own version of RAW which is very handy again for the more advanced colour and control side of things. BUT if you’re just starting, maybe all these features are a bit extra and not needed - get a Sony or Canon, APS-C is fine, full frame is accessible on Sony at a great price, lenses are expensive for full frame but they last you your entire career. There’s lots to talk about on that front so if you have any questions I’m always happy to ramble on but I’ll wrap this comment up now! Love your mission, good luck, keep in touch and I’ll be rooting for ya! ✌️

@@crystalpulseTV Thanks for the genuine and informational response! Yeah I currently shoot with the Sony a6400, but I'm shopping around for that future purchase. Something that's going to last me 10 years. We'll see what it ends up being! Keep adding value like this mate!

I've had Panasonic before and won't consider them again until the give up steam-powered AF and get a current century hybrid AF system. I can't imagine how their marketing people can let them release new cameras with contrast AF. It really kills them when competing with Canon or Sony. As a generally solo shooter, the AF would ruin me. No Panasonic in my future ...

Yeah, I know how you feel so much... For me, there is so much to love about the Lumix cameras, but the AF is a real pain, especially when it comes to the content creation game. I can take my eye off the screen with a Canon and just point, but with a Panny, I need to be checking everything is groovy. If I think about my future, if I really want to get into the cinematography game, then AF isn't too much of a problem, there's a crew around you to help keep stuff in focus, you're blocking almost every shot etc etc. It's great this S series has the linear focus ability. But for this run and gun life I'm in at the moment, just a cheeky lil Canon goes a long way. Still running the 80D for when I need these certain quick and dirty shots!
