Please fix the anti ship missile of the tornado IDS Marineflieger. It could lock ground targets as well. Yuri's verdict on the tornado: please fix the plane but even when nerfed solid 7/10 dismembered body parts
In game, what we have laballed as a GR.1 is actually part-GR.4, the GR.1 never carried the targetting pods, hence why IRL in Operation: Desert Storm, the Tornado (Despite being the most modern aircraft of the war, initially had to have Buccaneers doing the targetting for them they carried the ordiance until later, where the GR.4 could do the whole job itself..
The modification on the Gr.1 for the TALID pod is called the "Gr.1B" as in the upgraded variant of the Tornado Gr.1 that received self lazing capabilities
@@MorvranLive simple where do Gaijin originate from and where does the CEO and some of the higher staff comes from ??? answer begins with R ends with A so if you play ground you see that compared to reality certain t-64 t-72, T-80 and t-90 seem to be a lot more op than western tanks
My Uncle was a retired engineer from boeing and did some of the wing design on the Tornado.. let me elucidate a bit.. he retired from boeing when boeing still made flightworthy aircraft with qualified staff
It was and it wasnt..... Obviously any weapon loads will impact it greatly, but compared to those that came before it like the Jaguar, its a decently "Agile" aircraft considering its weapons loadout potential and all the kit it carried. Dont take Gaijins modeling of it as accurate. Its not. Its underperforming a LOT in game
In 2004 at Al Udied AFB in Qatar I watched the British launch 24 fully loaded Tornados into a combat formation and fly off to Iraq. At that point I had never seen such a large aircraft combat formation. It was the most awesome military experience I had seen.
Just a reminder that the Tornado IDS WTD 61 was a literal testbed for armament on the Tornado and Gaijin fucked it up by only giving it access to 1000 pound bombs
@@stein_the_lynx3284 i have alot of footage if me messing with it. Being in sim. Your aoa and altitude are factors. Remember its not a harpoon. The trajectory is a bit more direct. Distance is a factor as well
@@quarreneverett4767 I've tried a ton of different angles, long ranges, close ranges, and mid ranges, the only time I can get a hit is if I'm coming down at a basically 90 degree angle which is not how they're meant to be used, and even then it's a 50/50 especially when used on enemy carriera
@@stein_the_lynx3284 i have used them in simulator and realistic battle settings once you get a feel for them yoh will improve. I can help give you environments to practice and improve.
When can we expect to see the Sky Shadow ECM pod for the Tornado? This plane is a flying brick and cant ever hope to defend itself. While the updated BOL pods with the chaff is nice, they hardly ever actually work against aircraft, especially F-14s ECM exists on the Su-39 as an IRCM, so jamming missiles is already a design concept that we are seeing in-game, and the Tornado wouldn't be an unreasonable plane to add it to
To everyone that’s going to ask a question about the game: Gaijin no longer cares about players opinions, and would rather let the game rot than fix it so it can be balanced again.
"Developed through the combined efforts of France, Germany *And a Number of other Countries* " Lmao they literally left out the major developer of the Tornado (UK)
Literally bro like i swear to god they have an agenda against britain at this point. Russian company, with a strong russian tech tree the entire games lifespan, cases of russian vehicles being overperforming, and what european country does russia hate the most? Britain. What TT is the most heavily shafted through BR, Vehicle Performance Modelling and Weaponry Given in WT? Britain. Then this? Literally omitting the biggest designer/developer of the best european strike aircraft of the cold war to "a multitude of other nations" Call me schizo but like dawg, it lines up. I'm NOT saying "oh for sure they do" but it's so likely, that its basically "at this point we might as well say they do".
There is much more to the story of the Tornados lost in the Gulf War "outside of combat." When the war started, the Allied Forces were justifiably concerned about the Iraqi Air Defense Network. However, as the air war continued, we discovered CFIT (Controlled Flight Into Terrain) was a very much greater threat than the combined air defenses of Iraq. General Horner ordered all aircraft to start fighting from much higher altitudes but the British refused to comply and continued to lose good crews to dirt. Allied forces lost far more of every aircraft against dirt than everything the Iraqis could throw at them. This isn't meant to disparage the Iraqis but to highlight the necessary priority in ALL phases of flight: 1) Aviate, 2) Navigate, 3) Communicate and in that order of priority. The pK (probability of Kill) of modern missiles is .1 to .5, the pK of fighters is .2 to .7 but the pK of Ground is 1.
Just a shame Gaijin artificially nerfs the Tornado to a massive degree. The amount of unfinished parts is insane. Even the Flight Model is still placeholder and underperforming significantly. Then nerfed and missing BOL, Missing Phimat Pods, dozens of missing loadout options. No ECM. Heck, The ADVs still have placeholder HUDs and they couldnt even be bothered to add the new big fuel tanks to anything other than the F3 Late, even though they all used them, Gr1s used them more than anything else during the Gulf War. One of these days. I hope we actually get the early Tornados, not too mention later ones like the Tornado Gr4 with 18 Brimstones and 2x ASRAAM
warthunder, quick question why does the f-16am tws radar show tracked targets in ud but other f16s like the c variant or other modern fighters like the su 27sm have such feature
Why having Litening II over CLDP makes premium AMX 0.7 higher than the regular one, but at the same time German and Italian regular IDS are at the same br despite exact the same difference?
Gaijin, are you gonna ever fix the SAS damping mode in Sim? The pitch of the jet is uncontrollable and you cannot use trim cuz it's a dampened axis, unlike the Su-25
Cant speak for the other 2, BUT in game, what we have laballed as a GR.1 os actually part-GR.4, the GR.1 never carried the targetting pods, hence why IRL in Operation: Desert Storm, the Tornado (Despite being the most modern aircraft of the war, initially had to have Buccaneers doing the targetting for them they carried the ordiance until later, where the GR.4 could do the whole job itself..
The way Tornado is modeled in WT it is garbage as toptier CAS. Germany still has no good CAS. F4F ICE at least could be decent AA on 11.7 in Ground RB.
Tornado GR1, BR is too high for its capabilities most notably when compared against the superior German Tornado IDS WTD61 premium Tornado IDS WTD61 - airRB 11.3 groundRB 10.3 Fully upgraded Top speed - 2308kph/1434mph Turn time clean load - 29 seconds Rate of climb 195m/640ft a second 2 9Ls, 2 27mm cannons Ammo 360, 700+ Countermeasures, Full set of 12 bombs Tornado GR.1 - airRB 11.7 groundRB 11.3 Fully upgraded Top speed - 2005kph/1245mph Turn time clean load - 31 seconds Rate of climb - 177m/580ft a second 2 9Ls, 2 27mm cannons Ammo 360, 700+ Countermeasures, Full set of 12 bombs or various old guided bombs / 1 paveway 3 How can this be? Well one is premium and the other is British. So some guided bombs means that despite the premium having better flight performance with the same offensive weapons as the GR1 you get an additional +0.3 in airRB and +1.0 in groundRB at least the GR1 wins on that stat. 🥴 Don’t even get me started on the jets you have to fight in these slow motion buses 💀
@@fegelein2233 You just outed yourself as an idiot, I’m impressed you wrote all that out without grasping the fact it’s a game that has balancing involved. The German tornado mentioned is a premium, it has the exact same engine as the German tech tree tornado yet produces 490 more kilograms of thrust than it stock while at a lower BR for both air and ground. Aka pay to win and nothing to do with real life decisions. Please know what you’re talking about next time 🥴👍🏻
@@fegelein2233the funny thing is the gr1 we have ingame should get mk103s too, gaijin just gave them.the worst engines because they were getting another tornado in the future, which was the f3. This is the actual genuine reasoning

Increase revenue! Since the last new economic policy, Gaijin has been cutting revenue, and this update has further reduced the efficiency of players obtaining research and development. We need higher revenue!
Let´s be real the Torando is not very playable not good in high tier , aim 120 or other active radar just slap you out of the air before you even can try to turn , pantirs , tor, ito´s 90 are like a delete button for the tornado , and it can even drop bombs over mach 1 what´s even made for to fly fast and drop bomb´s , ngl at 10.3 or 10.7 would be way better ther are still spaa that can still destory you but not as fast or instant like in 11.7 (high tier ) , make the german tornado playable again other wise is just a waste of time to grind it , or at least give the premium tornado laser gbu´s so its even worth buying it .
