I’ve never understood why people feel the need to shitcan other people’s stuff. It’s your cab Ralph, no need to apologise for its appearance or what you stick in it. I have multiple JAMMA PCB’s & whilst I play on a supergun, I’m always on the lookout for JAMMA cab near me, which unfortunately is not common.

So after a long hard day , instead of playing street fighter for 10 mins before going to bed , u get to turn it on and scroll through 1000s of games for 10 mins and go to bed without playing anything. Na im kidding , it’s good to have Atleast one multicade in the house.

I have one of these in an old converted Neo Geo Z Back cabinet with an older 26" Samsung LCD and a scanline generator over VGA. I think it may have once been an SF2 cab because the control panel was drilled for 6 buttons but only filled 4. It originally came with a single slot MVS and one of those 161 in 1 carts. The comic book shop I bought it from was going out of business and left it on all day, so the 25" tube had awful burn in and I couldn't find a replacement. The menu system and loading screen look slightly different on mine with a V1.3 in the corner, probably slightly more up to date. I put in a new harness, replaced the sticks with some IL bat tops and added all new buttons in all 6 holes. Works great, no bad tearing like I experienced in the Pandora 5 and 6. I'm happy with it and it's features.

I have a DX in an original SF2 cabinet I bought that came with a Pandora 9. I threw that out and put a 6 which was the best one till the DX. I've noticed since I got the DX the screen is shifted to the right far enough that certain icons and graphics you can't see. My cab came with a 720 LCD. Was curious if you've had the same issue.

@@mak23997 I don't remember whether I ran into this after hooking it up or not. I may have made some adjustments in the screen's OSD but that was a while back. My monitor is an older 26" Samsung computer monitor and I run the DX at 1024x768. Is yours running off VGA out? Could be the slight resolution difference if your monitor is 1280x720.

I build and sell JAMMA ready cabinets (without game boards.). Keeps me on the right side of the licencing law. I tell my customers to get this specific board. I LOVE it. I went from a Pandora's Box 6 to a DX thinking it would be a solid upgrade and was really disappointed with the screen tearing and audio issues. The games were really low volume, but the menu screen was so loud it sounded like gunshots. 😂 I ended up replacing it with a Pandora Games 3D and have been really happy with it ever since. To be fair, I did get the very first run of the DX, I pre-ordered it and everything, so it's entirely possible that they fixed those issues and I don't know about it.

I bought a DX last month so I assume I have the newer one. No menu screen is still loud and volume is hit or miss depending on the game but with NBA jam super low. My screen is also shifted to the right for some reason. Not enough to be unplayable but enough to be annoying. Worked fine with the 6 so not sure if you had the same issue. Also tried to connect a USB trackball where it says "trackball" as well as the other usb port. Could never get the DX to recognize it. What do you like about the 3D more? The only real upgrade with the DX over the 6 is save states, and to me with very limited time to play, is a nice upgrade.

@@mak23997 So basically with the Pandora Games 3D it just performs miles better. No screen tearing, the volume levels are normal as you'd expect, the sounds that are messed up in some DX games are in tact on the 3D, etc. Though I never use save states so I can't remember if the 3D does that or not. Matter of fact I'm going to check and let you know in a second reply.

Great channel, I have an Odroid, modded Saturn and a few other things but for the price buying a used Arcade 1up on Offer up and adding a Pi or even easier this Pandora’s box is an awesome option to add an authentic arcade experience to your home. I have several arcade cabinets, including one with a similar emulation board (Game Elf). I agree these boards are great for limited space and for having the opportunity to play games you may have never been exposed to. If you can do it without chopping up a cabinet the way a MAME set up does, that's even better

It's good to have a mulicade even just to try out games to see if you want to make something a dedicated cab. I would think eventually as the analog parts burn out on the commercial cabs that they would all become digital on the inside anyway.

They are very cool. I have this one i put in an A1U and love it. Another thing is that with this one you can add games to it and you can change the music and backgrounds to the menu's. Its worth it for sure.

I put this same box in a big blue that had Tekken 2 in it. I will say that I TOOK FREEPLAY OFF. I did this so that the ATTRACT MODES would play. On free play the game will sit there like coined up or you go back to the menu if selected. Mine has SFII art so I can coin up SFII and once done it will play the sweet attract mode! Added a coin switch to the coin door. Machine get LOTS of play!

Your lucky you live in a location that coin operated games seem to be falling out of the sky I’m located in Australia coin operated games are hard to come by so Pandora’s box systems or others like them are fantastic

Nice instruction video, for people with not much space this is a great solution. I don't know if it's available yet, but the MiSTer FPGA JAMMA add-on seems a really good option. Pandora is cheaper though.

I've seen a dozen tutorials for connecting the family edition to an arcade1up but I've been eager to see the jamma edition connected to a real sf2 cabinet. I knew that the Pandora was a slightly different pinout, didn't realize an adapter was readily available. I'd probably go the extra mile and mount it next to the real PCB. Not sure how safe it is balanced on the edge of the coin collector. Great to see it supports 480p out. Great stuff, I don't see the issue either if the control panel and original hardware remains untouched.

These pandoras are wired slightly different to normal jamma, the 6 buttons come through the jamma edge and takes 2 pins that would normally be ground on jamma, i use one of these dxs in my big blue i made a special jamma harness that plugs into my cabs harness and its has an extra button loom that taps into my cps1 kick harness thats permanently wired to my kick buttons so i can use panadora with my cabs 6 buttons

I can imagine this would be really cool in a Big Blue cabinet (The original of course). It's a convenient solution for people that have one original arcade cabinet, but they want to add more games so it could have more value in their 3 grand or more purchase without damaging the original design. Obviously, the emulation Isn't the best that money can buy, but it's good for what it is. Besides, nothing beats playing retro games on a CRT, that's just how these games were meant to be played.

Obviously, it isn't convenient for most people because not everyone has an extra $3,000+ to spare on an arcade machine that plays one game, so most people build their own arcade cabinet and use a raspberry pi for the emulation. But emulation will never be the same as authentic hardware and playing the game how it was originally designed. The Pandora's box isn't going to appeal to most people if they already have a multicade like the at games legends ultimate and any of the diy projects or they just emulate everything on PC. But for the guy that had the money and space for a big and bulky arcade cabinet and wants to add more games without damaging the original design of the cabinet, it's pretty cool. It's not for everyone, but when I do get my hands on an original Big Blue cabinet from Capcom, I need a solution like this.

It is super cool! 4 years ago I picked up a big blue that hand been converted to Tekken 2. Put all SFII art and this same DX box and I will say it gets a lot of play in my arcade, one of the most played games and most times the search function is going to find the classis your friend looks for! It's way cool. Great for a project cab! Mine was $600!

Just set this up in my sf2 champ cabinet and its great! A cheap multicade solution for sure without bastardizing an original arcade. Some of the emulation is wonky for MK ultimate for example but enough games work right out of the box to make it worth it

its ok as long as you are not compromising the original game plus their are people who also have it set to switch between original game & the pandoras box or mame.besides it might be the only way to get certain games in your arcade.

I have this same setup in my 25' CRT Dynamo cabinet and it works great. I still prefer the real CPS2 board because I notice the color and sharpness is better. The DX device is nice to have especially having all those games in one and ready to go. :)

Pandora Dx is much improved over pervious versions, I had pandora 3 and it was so awful i sold it and said naver again! Having said that i did buy Dx and pleasantly surprised by it, it seems to emulate cps1, 2 and 3 very well which is why i bought it, I have a Dx in one of my Sega Blastcity cabs and works spot on and its great if we want a quick game of something, my only gripe with pandora is they lack the ability to change proper dip switches or give access to the games service menu which is bloody anoying I wish they would sort this.

I have a Neo Geo Big Red with a damaged board. So my options were send a 30 year old piece of hardware to canada to maybe get repaired for who knows how long. Put a pi in there and spend time customizing a frontend. Or just wire a new harness to the buttons and sticks and plug it into a Pandora. The Pandora wins.

It’s a nice option for some but I personally think FPGA is the future for arcade gaming. I will try to keep my original boards running as long as possible but as FPGA evolves, I think it will become key in keeping older games running and running accurately. Is there a way to connect the coin door connections to the Pandora Box Dx for non CPS systems? I have an Midway MK II cab, but the original board was removed and until I can get a dedicated board for it, I thought this would be a good solution. However, I'd like to connect my coin door to it too.

I haven’t looked into doing a 4-player setup in a while. I did in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wsUQfNiGZJ4.html I’m pretty sure most of these boards let you simultaneously use the HDMI out and the VGA out at the same time so you could do that. I would imagine a splitter would also work 👍🏻. I hope this helps.

Dude, there is nothing wrong with this...Just playing STREET FIGHTER in the cab is gonna get old quick! I would absolutely put one in! It should run all the St Fighters Versions pretty good. I have not played the DX board, but most of those do the job except for a few hand fulls of roms.

How to decide, do you have room for all the games you want? DO you have the money for all the games you want? Do you hate discovering games you maybe have never seen? Would you ignore games you have never played, even if they were in your house and free to play? if you answered NO to all these, you may want to look at an old cab and a Pandora's box, Make sure the cab is not worth much. I regret butchering an original Kangaroo several years ago (dont get too excited, no game board, was thrown out).. not a game I like at all, but it was a nice Orginal.

That street fighter arcade you have is it the original? Or from arcade1up? I’m trying to figure out what if the difference between arcade1up arcade machine and the actual real arcade machines? And also if you know can you use that Pandora do box in arcade 1up machines or only on actual arcade machines?

Did you set the video output to 15Khz? You need to hold the reset button and power cycle it till the LED is orange I believe.

You said this works on arcade CRT monitors. What is the resolution output? Does it match the game's native resolution that you are playing? Or does it do some bull crap where it scales and outputs 480i and looks all blurry in person?

Purist/snobs are the worst. You could be using an obscure part from a junk bin but if they found out that red plastic coin slot used to be inside a Mortal Kombat machine and god forbid you have it inside your Killer Instinct rebuilt cab...

I've got the Vertical Pandora's Box running Pandory. For the love of all things holy, if I can't get this damn music during the game selection screen I'm going to lose it. I've searched for all the .MP3 files and have deleted them and the music just comes back. Otherwise it is pretty compelling. Other than the games load slow as christmas!

the pandora box is fun with lot of games, so you don't have play the same game everyday

I got one of these arcade machines itself it's super cool! Although the machine itself is a Pandora's Box DX, btw I had a quick question, when I was playing Super Mario World, the game text originally is Japanese, idk if there's a way to change it to English or if that's how it was made into the machine or maybe it just defaulted to the Japanese version of the game. But if you see this please let me know if you have a possible solution to this. Thank you, and sick video!

Hey man i have a super turbo cab that also has a pndoras box with the adapter but the kick harness doesn't work. Does the adapter use a cps1 kick harness?

Yes, this particular adapter uses a CPS1 kick harness. This will allow you to wire up the other buttons so you can play 6 button games. If it's already wired then it's plug and play with the CPS1 kick harness, it's pretty cool.

Just received mine (exactly the same jamma but EX) but I not see 320x240 or 640x480 resolution..only hd 16.9 sadly.
