#fireemblem #fireemblemengage #feengage In this video I outline a Brave Axe build for Panette that absolutely farms and requires almost no investment on the players part as Panette starts with good stats :)
I don't understand why Three Houses allowed us to keep the unique appearances and Engage took that amazing feature away. Can't decide if I want Panette to have Hector or Ike but I love having Vantage, Wrath and quick riposte. But her with a killer axe is fun but with a brave axe...4x attack is so good to see.
I love using Ike on her. Great Aether just deletes enemies. The high defense being engaged with Ike gives lets her take some hits to get into Vantage. Then wrath+vantage shenanigans can get her a 100% crit chance thanks to engravings and her personal. She's so strong.
Ya, Great Aether is amazing on her since it's an AOE 100% accuracy attack on a bunch of stuff. Just drop an engraving to increase the brave axe's accuracy and you can just leave her on berserker even with the low DEX.
@@timothydalton2388 I'm sure she's great with Roy but there's so many other characters that I feel would appreciate all the extra strength he gives more. Kagetsu, Lapis, Merrin, and Chloe to name a few. 6 more strength at bond rank 20 and even more strength when engaged is really good and feels just a bit overkill on Panette.
100 Hp 65 str 50 dex 40 spd 40 def 20 build. Yea, that seems awesome. Some characters look good in warrior, but Pannette doesn't seem like one of them. It's a bit too plain on her.
Ike on Panette IS crazy. Ike allows Panette to solo chunks of the map. Then you inherit vantage and dex. So with Panette’s personal skill, and wrath vantage combo she just crits everything and attacks first on enemy phase.
Honestly all of the Solm characters can be pretty good outside of Bunet. Padreo is a good mage, Fogado has similar growths to Chloe as griffin, comes with good bases and can make a good wyvern or Paladin too. Pannette consistently is able to one turn and comes with good bases along with Merrin (Merrin also has a good personal), Timerra is a good tank unit and helps reduce crit.
Its just unfortunate they come so late into the game. They come 3/5 the way through the game and miss out on many of the early ring options that many of those other unit get.
@@xveluna7681 Def hurts first time playing the game no canter having to be more careful with positioning. On my second playthrough no canter is much less annoying until you get it and I think is overhyped but that might just be off experience.
You’re right about bunet but I turned him into a good unit by giving him that Erika skill that adds 20% to damage then gave him the corrin skill that lowers enemy stats after battle. Took him a while to get going but his res maxed out and his defense was like 40+. He almost never killed enemies in one round but turned into a good support unit
For panette I'm attempting a the vantage wrath build except with ike and a maxed out killer axe I may also try it with Hector because I can go into + 20 crit immediately, but idk about her survivability
If using DLC, Edelgard could be good on her. She boosts Str, Dex, and def all stats she need. Eldegard gives +5/7 damage from Weapon Sync 2/3 of the time when unengaged depending on weapon/who is out, or when engaged she always gets this bonus. You can do 3 attacks with her in one turn by using Houses Unite+ next to Byleth, followed by Raging Storm for another attack, then either Atrocity for double MT attack or Fallen Star to safely avoid a attack. If you break a opponent you get 50% damage from Warrior ability. If you pair her with Byleth's goddess dance and Dancer she could attack 5 times in a single turn. Plus the other benefits like 1.2 exp or gambits and any skills you put on her, such as Wrath, Canter, or Vantage. She would be more fragile then having Ike but I feel it ramps up her burst damage and utility.
Like most people in the comments, I run her with Ike for the easy access to Wrath and grab Vantage(+) from Leif to make her a dual phase nuke. She just slaughters everything. Halberdier is also a good class option with better Dex and Pincer attack, but no Longbows.
"Psycho axe killer"... HAHA! The ironic thing is that Panette is actually very prim and proper. I don't speak Japanese, but I use Japanese voice in my playthrough. I can recognize keigo (Japanese polite) speech. It sounds dignified and it makes her appear that way, like almost excessively so. Viable contender for best girl (although I'm on the fence about her face makeup).
Did you...not listen to her in combat? She speaks in a very brash manner compared to her normal demeanor. In English her crit quotes are things like "You lookin' down on me?!" and "I'll beat you to a pulp!" She also has level up dialogue such as "Get in my way and you won't get home alive! Ahem, I mean...goodness, what pleasing results!"
@@shadowfate05 I did... sort of. As I said, I listen in Japanese, of which I know about 50 words (all derived from watching anime). She IS prim and proper... outside of battle. In battle, she becomes an absolute lunatic, which makes her quite funny. The few quotes I've seen are from YT videos and cites like yours. There's a battle quote or two in Japanese in which, although I don't understand the words, the guttural tone transcends languages. It seems to be a video game trope where they give a diminutive female (no offense, Panette!) a monstrous axe. For instance, Edelgard is frequently referred to as "smol," but she wields enormous axes and is probably one of the best units in the game (if not THE best). Hilda is the same. Here, Panette and Anna (I think this Anna is the youngest in the game) are the candidates. I don't think Anna is particularly powerful as an axe wielder, but Panette is a monster. So, to contrast with her savage abilities, she's proper and polite... off the battlefield.
Panette is an animal!! Reclass to Warrior is the play (despite the crappy outfit). I'm on my first Maddening run (ch23) , I put Ike and Vantage+ on her and never looked back. The Wrath + Blood Fury combo is insane, I gave her Killer Axe+5 w/Lyn Engrave and she 1 rounds pretty much everything except very heavily armored units. I just park her in the middle of enemies, engage, and watch them walk into the Panette blender. I'm am trying to figure out a way to make Diamant similar for my next playthrough so I can have two tanky demons on the field.
I made her a wyver knight, with ike's ring, speadtaker and vantage + with either a tomohawk with corrin's engraving or a killer axe with erika's engraving, she litteraly double crit everything on both enemy phase and player phase, (when there are 2 ranged enemies that will attack on enemy phase i use the tomohawk, and if not i use the killer axe, the tomohawk have less crith but have 2 range, while killer axe naver miss and always crit), altough she gets attacked before trigerring both wrath and vantage, you want to lose hp to trigger these skills, and then everything that isn't 3 range dies before they can attack her.
I actually switched her to axe wolf knight on my first maddening run and it helped fix her speed issues once I switched her back to warrior after she hit level 20. She kept reliably doubling with speedtaker and had her massive strength to just kill everything. Her being on wolf knight actually works because you couple her strength + the insane might of a forged silver dagger and a peshkatz + a massive health pool and she can tank and one round anything.
Wyvern, vantage, ike ring killer axe. She literally does more damage than this brave build (3x crit vs 2x brave, and higher base might) and it works in enemy phase which this build doesn't. She also doesnt need to worry about most doubles because she one shots any non ranged unit with vantage. Ikes passive is 50% reduction and +7/7 def res under 75% which pushes her def to high 30s and res to near 30 which is the ideal range to be in to bait attacks without being ignored. you also can just use a smash weapon to take damage round one for easy setup. I've literally not found a better enemy phase unit in maddening than her because the AI doesn't account for vantage unlike avo/high def units so they always attack her. She will literally solo any group of units outside of double archers.
While extremely expensive SP-wise; giving her Vantage+ and Wrath; and also putting her in the Axe Paladin class made her pretty much unstoppable for me; at a constant 68% crit. MINIMUM
If engaged with Ike you can get wrath for free, and for 2500 SP you can get vantage + pair up. Wrath combined with her personal skill gives +40 crit and thats not including engravings or killer weapons. I imagine this combo would be deadly with either a crit engraved greataxe or a Mt engraved killer axe due to her monster strength stat
Yeah, this is exactly what I did, it's incredibly effective. Ike also works for general enemy phasing and doesn't shoehorn her into vantage strats. She can safely take hits with Ike, so she can take on groups of enemies with 1-2 range with tomahawk, Ragnell, and great aether. As a warrior she can also use a longbow for 3 range. I still use vantage + Lyn engraved killer axe situationally and it completely trivializes groups of enemies locked to 1 range. But it's just a tool in her toolbelt, she can do so much more. Imo her biggest value is that she's extremely flexible. She can player phase, enemy phase, tank on chokepoints, she's a good boss killer, as a warrior she can contribute to chain attacks from 3 range with longbow, she gets reposition for free from Ike for support utility, etc.
Ike for wrath with a crit engraving on killer axe = 100% crit rate. Give her sigurds +hit to make up for her stinky accuracy. Giver her a silver great axe for Great Aether and she will nuke everything within 2 tiles of her.
I really loved her Goth Lolita Mexican style but the Berserker Class sucksss but I still loved her Crit Tanking Machine on Great Knight, and she looked like FE3H Death Knight
Doing this loses the backup utility, which is sad, but I made my Pannete a paladin on my current playthrough after she hit the dex cap on a crit build. It's a pretty insane player phase unit, honestly. I did more of a crit build with Killer Axe and she's consistently around 78% crit or higher, and her Paladin outfit is pretty great too. She's like a black knight.
Don't need to overthink it with a brave axe, she can ~100% crit with killer axe and physical attack of 55 by end game will kill one hit kill on maddening anything other than great knights and generals (achievable even on reclass to paladin/hero/wyvern/warrior without starsphere, stat boosts or overleveling). Only three things she needs is wrath (ike emblem or skill inherit), +5 killer axe and engraving with +20/30 crit. End game maddening enemy paladin is next tankiest after generals and great knights at 33 defense and 66 hp. 55 physical attack crit will kill it. (55 physical attack - 33 defense ) = 22 damage x 3 for crit= 66 . Even reclassing from berserker down to paladin or hero will be enough (drops her to 20 strength and by end game, she will have 32-34 base strength with 20-23 levels (60% total strength growth). Add emblem with str bonus and 16 mt from a +5 killer axe and that's 52-54 physical attack. Warriors have higher str base and growth while wyverns have same base higher str growths than heros and paladins. To get 110+ crit, ike's wrath and her personal passive gives up to 40, +5 killer gives 40, engrave can give 10/20/30, and her half her own dex is added on top of all that.
I just go for Ike Ring with Silver Greataxe for Great Aethers and easy boss kills, Killer Axe for killing Wyrms (She usually does 11x2 with a 100% crit rate so easy kill) and any old bow for flier kills. Skills are Def+ and Hp+ just for as much bulk as possible, leaning into a crit build really is not necessary, she can easily get 100% crit even without wrath, and she is really tanky since her massive hp synergises with Ike really well, so I don't find vantage to be useful or necessary at all.
Saphir is not 35. The ages were scrapped; hence why they show up nowhere in game. Partly because time doesn't pass the same way in thie game as it did in 3H. Partly because characters clearly got some redesigns. Alcryst and Hortensia having a 3 year age gap would make absolutely no sense, as both read very clearly as Late Teen Early Adult. Framme and Clanne aren't only one year younger than Citrinne by anyone's imagination. Some ages are about right, like Anna, some are just WILDLY off for the character's final pass
I had her as a vantage crit enemy phase delete machine in my maddening playthrough and let me tell you watching her just delete hordes of enemies with crit animations is beyond great to watch
I'm so glad you validated Panette as a potential S-Tier character. I'm not a Fire Emblem veteran by any means, and many guides - especially yours - are helping inform my build decisions in my 1st (Hard Classic) run. I didn't see the value in keeping her as Berserker longer than necessary and quickly went Warrior. I saw someone counter-argue that Ike could be good for Timerra but Ike also works VERY WELL on Panette. I ran Ike on her for the past few maps and her damage output is STUPID. Making the decision to run Panette/Ike yields the kinda results that make you glad you did it 🔥🔥🔥 I suppose the only thing I need to do now is get her a Brave Axe, *stat* .
Panette with ike as a great knight is absolutely insane. Ikes abilities pair so well with her skill and I have easily hit 100% crit in my runs. She's insane.
Panette Ike is great. Another Panette build that I have tried that is good is Wyvern Knight Panette with Roy emblem. The gimmick is using the over level from Roy's engage to easily boost her str and dex and hold out lets her have an defense measure in case she gets mobbed by enemies. Air raid lets her avoid being doubled by some enemies. The other skill I ran on her was vantage, that way she could possibly one round enemies with her lyn engraved tomahawk if she was in vantage range, if that failed she could get out of trouble thanks to hold out.
Axe proficiency is made to be used with Ike because it's only downside is that it lowers evasion -- but if you're running Ike you've already swapped out evasion for extra defenses.
@@SolidusSheep I haven’t even upgraded my brave lance yet and she’s murdering things. She also looks way cooler as halberdier than as a warrior, and everyone knows the most important stat in FE is drip
i have my panette with ike and pair up corrin skill send her in synced with great aether gets swarmed takes no chain attack damage tanks all hits and then nukes back to full health
Would just giving her Dexterity +5 be sufficient to patch up her hit rate? According to the formula you multiple Dexterity ×2, so +5 Dexterity would be equal to +10 Hit. In the example you gave it would have upped her hit rate to 96%.
With Ike every decent physical unit becomes cracked. My mediocre Diamant got MVP for the entire late game because of ike. It's just so good and so easy to use
Is there any merit to leveling as berserker and then switching to halberdier? That would take care of some of the accuracy issues that axes have and let her quad with a brave lance.
I made pannete a sniper and crit stacked her to the point where she doesn't need wrath to have an 80%crit on the average enemy. Longbow will also have insane crit with wrath so she just crit one shots everything
My Panette on Maddening uses an Eirika engraved killer axe, vantage +, AP2 and Ike Emblem for the stats and wrath. Completely INSANE enemy phase unit. I just had her stand in one spot for the Leif paralogue, and thanks to the ballista it was easy to get her into the basic vantage threshold. She was able to solo every single reinforcement that spawned... think she got around 8 levels and 500 SP in one map
Panette is so stacked in terms of raw damage it's insane. She absolutely helped damage carry in my first maddening run as a Warrior after Boucheron fell off, and I ended up running her, Timerra, Chloe, Alear, and Saphir as my main damage units and they practically swept the competition once they had all the skills they needed to succeed (+Avoid and Vantage+ on Saphir, Wrath/Vantage and a good crit axe on Panette, Lance Power and Build+ on Timerra, etc). If anybody is wondering what rings to pair with Panette, I've found Lynn and Lief are good options to keep her from getting doubled. Obviously Ike is the one a lot of people run on her, and he's probably her best, but Ike wants to be worn by a lot of different units (like Timerra) so the fact she can synergize with a few other kits helps that spreading of the load. I saw somebody insisting you run her with Roy, but I have yet to test if that's actually viable on Maddening, but if that's true that's like four or five emblems she could have on at any given moment and still be great, so she has a shocking amount of versatility for an axe unit which are notorious pains in the butt to get working on higher difficulties. (Side note, if you want her to be a Berserker and make use of that two space smash skill that Berserkers get, Strong Arm from the Deick ring on Roy's bond ring list gives her +20 hit when she has a Smash weapon equiped, which can help her abysmal dex cap. Not sure how useful that is, but I just got the ring on my current run and Jade has been using it to great effect so I thought it might be good on Panette when I get to recruiting her in a few chapters)
I've been running Vantage/Wrath + Roy + Killer Axe on her. She gets to 100% crit with even slight HP loss, can take hits with her large HP pool and Hold Out, and if there's a group of enemies with no ranged units they'll all suicide on her in enemy phase. Ike and Eirika have more competition from other units so you get the best overall team benefit by having her on Roy imo.
Panette is disgustingly good pretty much however you want to run her. My first maddening run, she solo'd all 4 health bars off the final boss in one turn with dance>goddess dance> dance, without using the engage+ mechanic because I didn't read its effect. You can run her with Ike ring and inherit vantage, and her tomahawk will one shot enemy mages all the way into endgame, leaving you only vulnerable to thunder tomes. Or if you want her more player phase focused, you can do any kind of crit build, or run Lyn on her if you want her to double at 2-3 range too.
I kind of like Panette's design. The existing one feels off because even though it looks great I can't quite see the connection between the gothic look they went for and being an axe murderer. If she had more of like a punk rocker type of gothic _heavy metal_ look then I'd be all for it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8pL4fXtxCvE.html Yeah. Like that. So I might actually prefer the warrior look overall.
My panette was lyn ring for speed taker + alacrity, axe power 2 and Canter. Fucking absolute destruction. Liked that I could get away after a fight if I didn’t trust her to take hits (even with all the HP). I also liked that lyns engage attack would delete enemies at a far distance. I didn’t realize lyns engage attack was kinda weak until second play through because panette is so strong lol
dude this game has some stuff i hate, like the wyrmslayer resistant wyrms, but the single worst shit is not having a internal level showing. I always leave someone behind exp wise because i cant keep track of everyone's lvl pre-promotion. Can't tell how many lvl ups should i give someone to catch them up.
Ike is insane on Panette, I'm running it on my first maddening playthrough, and she's carrying me. I switched her to warrior immediately just becuase it had better bases. Berserker just gives so little in comparison to warrior, imho.
I had Corrin on Pennete, not optimal, but ya the brave axe is what does the work. You could also give her speedtaker and convert here to a flying class. Then give her avoid from marth. Dont get hit and do damage, that is the goal. So I fly in, kill, get speed, dont get hit, rinse and repeat.
I ignored Panette completely on my first playthrough, because I have always had terrible luck with axe users in every FE game. Tried her out this time around, and shocked how good she is, right of the bat.
Panettone and Merlin is my favorite duo ! Also Wyvern Knight Panette is the best looking one as well as a beast of a unit. Turns out that fighting in the sky against other flying units where no mage can reach is a pretty good thing for a vantage crit build. You do lose the brave axe utility though.
@@IcedCoffeeGaming There's a short YT video that you may want to watch: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T-GTP607xsM.html . It's Panette set to dubstep music. And it proves your point that she's a monster.
I initially used her with silver axe, but after finding the killer axe wholly molly she one rounds so many things. With Ike's 30% increase, her base 10% increase, and a refine it get's to 90%+ on some enemies. Brave axe could definitely be a good alternative so your not always relying on crits. But smacking a dragon or boss with a 100+ damage is satisfying lol
Made my alear a warrior very early and im not dissapointed. Alears my best unit now by far. Growths are stupid and killer axe is such a good weapon. Ike is also insane because of the even increaded defense when she is low health, and she got wrath somehow aswell.
if you just want to use her for brave axe, lyn is probably the best option. clones to tank, her spd is not the highest, lyn allows her to quad rather than double, having access to mani kati isnt horrible when shes fighting sword users
I love axe users in fire emblem. So I was hard training boucheron, so sad to see how weak he was compared to panette but I immediately dropped him and slotted panette to just wreck face for the rest of the game
I think its hard to rank a unit S tier when they have that low speed and defenses. But I guess her high hp kind of makes up for it. Either way though she is a pretty bad defense phase units which in my opinion a unit needs to be strong both attacking and defending to really be S tier. However if you were to give her wrath and vantage with roy and give her a tomahawk with a high crit engrave then she could become a god tier defense phase.
I had no idea saphir was 35 lmao, thought she was supposed to be the near retirement elite warrior in her 40s/50s. IS must be on some serious anime crack if 35 to them is a foot in the grave. I'm stoked to run a lot of pannette and timerra in my second run personally, timerra only finally saw a ton of use in the last 5 chapters as I struggled through my first and pannette was benched while merrin carried me. Such a good trio of units
now i know you dont run dlc emblems but pannette with wrath+vantage and hectors ring is probably one of the most broken enemy phase units ive seen. you can probably use roy/ike on a non dlc run but hector lets u double on enemy phase
Please try Panette + Ike for a whole playthrough at some point. At high Ike bond levels, she becomes deceptively tanky and incredibly good at enemy phasing. Here's a clip from my playthrough where she tanks 2 wyrms, a celica warp ragnarok, an elfire mage, and 4 axe wyverns and kills them all with great aether : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TDabQ5OAQc4.html She's absolutely insane and without question my best unit.
i've been using her in a crit build with killer axe if she's even a little below max hp she has 100% crit most the time and hits for 100 damage usually
Not really, some claim she pops off but using her as a normal unit on my team that goes for kills as often as possible she still has low SPD and defensive stats/low max HP and tends to die to most enemies from full HP
I wonder how she would be as a Wolf Knight. I mean I always used Berserker/Warrior with Erika, using my SP on Wrath. But I wonder if she'd be good as a Knife/Axe Wolf Knight
She was a monster as a wolf knight. Gave her a steel dagger with crit engraving, wrath, vantage++, and either Sigurd or Roy Ring. The only units that can threaten her are Thoron mages and Armored units. This is on maddening and she still manages to solo one side of the map for me.
Panette has always been my core 8, and loved using her since my first run. Warrior and berserker classes are blind as bats in late/postgame, so that is probably the only major gripe I have about her. Thankfully, Alear fixes her hit rate when they're adjacent.
Tomahawk with a Hit Engrave is kinda nuts, you lose some might but the base might makes it bonkers and it became one of my most accurate weapons some how. I'm running a Warrior Jean for ultimate troll on Maddening with that but any axe unit like Panette will hit hard with it.
I had a similar build with my Cittrine, gave up any hope of doubling even generals, got nova with Ike engravement and she one shotted everything. But it does take much longer to get nova than brave axe.
On my maddening run, I put Panette into wolf knight for 5 levels and gave her 1 speed booster, then reclassed to warrior. Carrying the Lyn Emblem, she quads with a Lief Enscribed Brave Axe +3 on almost everything in endgame and she does way more damage than this... Plus she can do major damage with bows and helps as a backup. I have to wonder if she's naturally just busted because you went a different direction than I did and the results only differ in I'd prefer my speed build so I get 4 swings to fish crits rather than 2.
