Greetings from "The West Island". Very excited to see this, found nowhere else on the Internet! I love all your original recipes, and would love to see more New Zealand and Islander recipes in future!
GIIIIIIIIIRL I mean SIIIIIIS (fob accent & all) you diiiiidnt 😂😂 damn I cant even make these and Im hamo to the daaayz lol LOVE IT SARZIE CHUUUHUUUUUUU 👏🙌😍
@@CheaperWaysNZ oooooh look up suafai..its a banana and tapioca or sago pudding. Its a really good recipe for any old ripe bananas u need to get rid of and its only 4 ingrediants: Ripe bananas (mash em good) Sago (alwaus soak in cold water for like 15mins before cooking) Coconut cream (now u know sis lol) Sugar (if ya bananas r really ripe u honestly dont need sugar, this is coming from a sugar freak) Pot of water on the boil (Pio said its best to cook the water soaked Sago first mix mix for like 15mins before u add ya mashed bananas) I just made this for the first time about 2 wks ago and honestly no measurements, I just had Pio saying do this add that etc but check out Pulepule Family on here, theyre this awesome Famz from my hood HENDERSON, WEST SIDE lol and she makes it otherwise, heaps of vids on here. Pio said to tell you YOUR PANIPOPOS LOOK LEGITE SAMOAN MADE however, next time leave some cream mixture to dunk the buns into when eating...that will make u a real Islander 😂😂 In all seriousness WELL DONE SARZIE ON THE PANIPOPOS we were both droooooling. You did gooood!!! 👏👏🙌🙌❤
Hey....you are too much.... well done for giving a shot 👏 you beat me it looks ...great & yummy - I may have put more sauce on & maybe given it a sugar glaze to make it nice & shiny.... wish me luck 👍
Yay let me know how you get on - the ones towards the middle I found actually had quite a bit more sauce covering the bottom of them (and my husband was right maybe some cinnamon in the sugar glaze would be super yum!)
@@CheaperWaysNZ Nice one. I’m actually from Auckland (West Side) but currently living in Pennsylvanian USA. I miss home so much, can’t wait to come back in the near future
It needs more sauce because the bun must have more coconut sauce on the bottom making it like soggy on the bottom because of the sauce. That is what makes the pani popo so good.
I've seen quite a few slightly different versions - got this one off a friend so figured it was tried and tested! I might tweak with a bit of cinnamon in the sauce next time maybe 🙂
Yum! I am always looking at frugal ways to do things in the kitchen and new ideas that I can use in the kitchen. I am not sure how I haven't come across your channel before, but it's great! I am kind of new'ish to RU-vid and am over at NZ Money Karma ru-vid.com/show-UCeZOntHOVjkkV_xL6t350dg. I am making these atm- waiting for the dough to rise and then decided to make your weetbix slice while I wait. My family are going to LOVE afternoon tea today!
