It's unusual to see a tank engine on the mainline, I believe it's been 5 years since 9600's last outing. It is due to haul a railtour with 9466 on the 14/11/09 and so it had to be tested.
I filmed the morning light engine run, firstly at Earlswood on the journey to Stratford and then the return at Danzey. The first still shows 9600 on the turntable at Tyseley.
9600 is due to haul passengers in the evening Shirley-Stratford and return.
