Here's our first (and only) big $$$ video--it cost more than the entire recording budget for the 1996 album, Wish I'd Taken Pictures! It did receive MTV airplay ... ONCE (thank you, Matt Pinfield!). We filmed in January at a hotel in the east bay and that water was COLD. We booked a few rooms and had the heat cranking for our poor actors, many of whom were actually Lookout! Records employees! This is the combination of two versions. One that drummer Dustin Donaldson and director Angali Sundaram cut which was more abstract and visual. The other was my cut ( • Pansy Division - "I Re... ) which was more literal and had a storyline. We had horrible arguments over which direction to go and each of us had a different idea about how to capture the attention of the MTV audience. I ended up cutting the two versions together and that's what we went with. The abstract version is lost forever.
