@@rqwec8974 pantera will never write new music so you'll have to get over it, they're just playing live shows as a homage to their music and gives the chance for fans who have never seen them you cant have new pantera music without dimebag and vinnie, just aint happenng
I get that we’re not seeing “Pantera” here… but I think the motive should be to honor the band’s legacy. This isn’t Zakk Wylde’s moment to insinuate himself into the legacy of Dimebag. Mouth for War is my favorite Pantera song, and Zakk absolutely ruins it. Dime played those riffs with so much more groove and left room for Rex and Vinnie’s voice in there. Zakk is doing all this pinch harmonic, pointless hammer-on/pull-off trill garbage, adding palm muted notes in that totally change the dynamic of the riff… He is making it about him. It’s like dude if I wanted to hear a million Zakk Wylde pinch harmonics, trills, and like 3 frets worth of vibrato bends, I would play a BLS record. But get that superfluous crap out of Mouth for War.
In fairness there’s live recordings where Dime palm mutes some of the riffs and adds squeals etc at different parts. Whether you feel what Zakks doing is good is subjective of course but I think it’s a nice touch that he’s willing to change it up live as opposed to the exact studio recordings as it’s in the spirit of how Dime approached live performance.
What does that guitarist think hes doing squatting over like that?! He looks like an old man with a bad back, at best. Phil sounds OK but his performance is zero. He needs to leave it alone, move on to something more suited to his physicality,... like ballads n love songs.
