As far as I'm concerned, Rex is beyond great!!! He's easily one of the most underrated Bass Guitarists of all time, and he deserves more attention and compliments! Dude definitely knows how to rock a Bass Guitar!!!
Pheeewww, Dimebag Darrell was one of the heaviest riff writers to ever grace our planet, you will be forever missed, you and Randy Rhoads, RIP Randy, Dime and Vince
Their first few albums were pretty cheese. Glam rock / Kiss wannabes. I'm glad they changed their style in the 90's. I agree that they were the best metal band then.
@@idontwritecomments ya that was the Terry Glaze years when they were still just kids. I dont think anyone really considers them Pantera until Phil joined and they did Cowboys from Hell
Pantera was the only metal band throughout the 90’s that made heavier music progressively with every album. Far Beyond Driven is probably the heaviest album to debut on the Billboard top 10 charts
I've seen them Live my gosh the fucking raw aggression, and rage from Phil vocals my gosh and Dimebag Darrell is a GOD on guitar it can't put into words what that festival was like my gosh....
You're rt, it's about a kid that went to one of their shows, he got hurt by fans for heckling the band. Then he told his dad Phil jumped into the crowd & beat him up, then his dad brought up lawsuits & also he asked to give him 5mins alone with Phil to whip Phil's ass. Phil wrote this song basically saying, ok let's do it. Lol
Pantera has always had the most brutal mosh pits. One time I tried to walk across one in between songs while it was empty. After getting helped back up to my feet I had Mr. Anselmo waving a finger in my face. It was awesome.
FINALLY! Someone finally reacted to 5 minutes alone! I remember seeing one of your 1st metal reactions and you saying you thought metal was loud screaming and loud music, well here you are with the loud music and TOTALLY digging it!! You are easily the best reactor, not afraid to venture to great music!
@@integrity101 well this is the first one I've ever seen. And no it's not my first day on RU-vid. The reactors that I follow have never reacted to the song
Jason Almen Do a RU-vid search for the song. You’ll find lots of reactions... and maybe you’ll find some cool new reactors to subscribe to in the process!
Hah, that's exactly what the song's about. *_This Love_* is another Pantera classic. Also check out *The Art of Shredding, I'm Broken, and Throes of Rejection.*
Growing up as a white boy in the hood it used to make me laugh how all my friends of a different pigment would laugh and make fun of my heavy metal but everytime I would put it on they would Bob their heads and move to the beat as if their brother made it for them. Turns out we got a whole bunch of shit in common folks!!!
I came from a rough neighbourhood here in Oz, I'm white but the best mate was Aboriginal like most the population in the town...his family disowned him for wearing Pantera shirts and playing their music, used to beat him up for it. Nowadays we outta that town and he is a guitarist for a semi-successful band, and he always surrounded by a couple hotties...while most his family are in jail. Justice can be so sweet sometimes... \m/
Flashing back to high school football. Pantera was one of the go-to get pumped CDs in the field house before a game. Listen to this in that environment, you feel psychotic when it’s time to run out.
I haven’t read up on the story in a while, but to my recollection, the heckler was some guy flipping Phil off and he either got threatened or jumped by other fans. Maybe both. Then the band’s manager got a call from the guy’s dad threatening to sue. I think it was the dad who said he wanted 5 minutes alone with “that Anselmo guy” and the song is a response to that cat lol Also fun fact: the bass and guitar were tuned waaaayy down for the video to give the strings that loose, slinky effect. Awesome visual.
Phil kicked this heckler's ass. Or, really, the kid got hurt at a show and tried to sue them. And, his dad told their manager he wanted 5 minutes alone with that Phil Anselmo. Imagine being that guy.
The way I heard the story, Phil incited a few people in the crowd to whoop his ass on the spot for heckling him. Then that punk's daddy heard about what happened and wanted to fight Phil over it. Soufeel basically responded "You give me just 5 minutes with that boy's dad and I'll whoop his ass".
So much talent from every member of this band. Such a tragic shame we couldn’t get to enjoy them making music longer, but we do have all the great music they did make. R.I.P. Dime and Vinny.
I love this band. ❤️ Don’t tell me this just doesn’t wanna make you go out there and right a wrong if you know what I’m saying. Lol Thank you for these reactions!! We love them!
I stumbled upon your channel this evening, I have stumbled upon others previously and none of them have been as good as yours, and you are the first I have bothered subscribing to! Brilliant to see how much you are enjoying Pantera! You are quite the inspiration bro! Respect!
This song was written to respond to members of the media who had some scathing and particularly bad reviews of the album, Far Beyond Driven, which this song was on. He’s basically saying, “ All I need is 5 minutes alone, fuckers!!” Long live Pantera, the pride of Texas.. Rest In Peace Abbott Brothers! Arlington, Texas born and raised, I remember seeing Pantera back in 1989, in bars and clubs all over the Metroplex, when they were a glam metal band!! 🤘🤘🤘💥💥
Now you're getting into my genre Jamal.....you can literally put on a blindfold and throw a dart at the Pantera catalog....My favorite band ....best attitude of all time.....R.I.P. Dimebag & Vinny Paul...I love those dudes
Absolutely love the song and their video. Especially during the close up of Dime's strings when using the whammy bar. Watching those strings bend is another level.
Man, I just wanted to say, normally I'm not a fan of reaction vids... but I've been binge watching yours, and you're by far the best. Love your open-mindedness of all music, and how quick you are to get into it and start stank-facing. I also appreciate how little you pause, and just let it keep rolling.
He came to rock And rocked like no other With the heart twice the size of Texas Our beloved bother, mentor, idol, companion and friend... We love you Dime... Until we meet again RIP DIME! Your music will live on forever!!
Love seeing your reactions Pantera! Theres enough bangers to keep you goin for a minute heres some more- The Sleep Hollow Regular People Floods The Great Southern Trendkill Revolution is my name
I feel like I'm in the same room listening to the music with you man, awesome videos! If you want to stay on the pantera train, the singer and bassist created a side project called DOWN, one of their best songs "stone the crow" has some great instrumentals and vocals.
If you haven't yet, check out "the sleep" solo. One of the most epic dimebag solos ever!! Also check out "primal concrete sledge" live. Tends to be missed. Short, but a freaking sweet song.
It's now 2021 and I watched a reaction of yours last night, but here I was searching an old favourite and here you were, loved the reaction mate. Definately spikes the senses this song 😊
Pantera is the best "Power Groove" band in the world. They helped me through my youth. It's probably because of them that I'm still alive or NOT in jail. I found an outlet that helped me get out the anger from people, the system, and other things in a positive way instead of being destructive. Pretty much opposite from what these idiot kids are doing today! There is NOT a bad Pantera song. Dimebag is amazing in every song! "Art of Shredding" "Heresy" "Domination" "The Sleep!!!!!" Every Pantera fan has their own "The Sleep" moment. Where it's the song they keep playing, want to hear all the time, favorite. All the way to Reinventing the Steel "Yesterday don't mean shit", "13 Steps" "Floods" "Revolution is my Name" and so on. If I had to pick 1 song to be my favorite, which is almost impossible to do, but I would have to say it's "Regular People" of Vulgar Display of Power. Not to mention the guitar is so awesomely insanely bad ass that you can't even find guitar tab on how to play it, correctly or all the way through.
I wish I had 5 minutes alone with Mr. Jamel.....TO JAM TOO MORE PANTERA!!! Thanx again dude. This is awesome to watch you dig some good ole Texas Groove Metal
I love that guitar riff. So much power and feeling Phil vocals just being it all home. Also Phil said this song was about a lawyer he wanted 5 mins alone with.
Just picked up your videos bro an I gotta say your funny as hell. Saw the ones you did on RAGE an then pulled up this one, which is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Pantera songs. RAGE an Pantera are two of the greatest metal bands from the 90's, with two VERY different styles. It was tragic when Dimebag died cuz he was by far one of best guitar players EVER. His loss created their downfall an RAGE just couldn't keep up the lead singers political views. They were both great tho. So are your videos too bro. Keep em up!
Pump that vitamin C brotha!! I’m doing the same up here in Seattle. This song blew my young metal head mind when I first heard it. What a chunky nasty riff!
Glad you took the time to research the backstory to the song ! If I remember correctly it was a younger guy who was heckling and a fight of sorts ensued. Ends with the hecklers father being told “ just give me 5 minutes alone with anon”
Man your reaction is awesome just like pantera was and will forevermore be. Saw them live in 94. My first ever show all was great but then they played fucking hostile and my life changed. REAT IN PEACE DIME VINNIE ABBOTT(PHIL AND REX) PANTERA FOR LIFE
Man brother, you my favorite reaction person!.. You the real deal!.. Check out anything off the 1st or second " Down" album. The singer is the same singer for Pantera, Phil Anselmo. I really think you'll dig them as well. Thank you for your channel I fckn love it!
Deftones have a great library. Swerve City and Romantic Dreams have some great grooves to go along with Moon Gazer's suggestions. Back to School, My Own Summer, and Engine No. 9 are classics.
Spent ten years up in a max unit, used to love this shit when it would be on the college station, outside rec we worked out and I had this shit in my head.
You should react to a He Is Legend song. They're a really great band out of North Carolina and you can hear the Pantera influence through them in all of their albums. So good!
This band got me through some shit when i was young bro. "Domination" live in Moscow. Dimebag, guitar, was a god. I dare you to watch....get ready to live my man :)
Domination and this love! Would love to see your reactions to these songs. Also, check out crowbar or down. Some titans in the metal world, also share members of pantera
The story of this song. Was there was a fight at one of pantera shows. And someone tried to sue them. The father of the kid that got beat up said " I dont care about the lawsuit just give me five minutes alone with that Phil". That's why he says " you cry for compensation I ask you please just give us five minutes alone." The song is a middle finger to the situation.
