@comet206 my brother.. Comet Take it easy on some of these people, I talk to text myself, And many times I do not proof read. It appears you hurt this guy's feeling so much, He took his comments down. I'm guessing from the way you spelled explain, The dude is probably latino, And So they will text the way they talk. And i'm older than dirt, I don't care if you think i'm a snowflake, We both like pantera, And so you are a brother whether you like it or not. Yeah I knew the boys, I'm from dallas, And I know who "walk" it is wrote about, and the story. It's a small world my brother.
Absolutely. It's crazy how people have different opinions based on if they were at the show or not. Judging by this phone recorded video, it's just nonsense. Glad you enjoyed it like I did.
@@tomzadvydas1758 I was there too and I never got to see them in their prime with Dime and Vinnie and that would have been a lot of fun. Dime should definitely be here today.
@@rilianriggs4620 I’m close to it. Haha. I’m sure Phil looks after his voice, and there were plenty days off on that tour in between dates for him to rest. 🤘🏼
One of the many special things about Dime is how precise he could play live without sounding robotic. Also while having a blood alcohol percentage that would probably kill most people.
That was a given since Dime got killed; I kind of figured if it was ever going to be anyone it would’ve been Zakk. They were decently close and familiar with each others style - and obviously the skill set has been in place for decades.
The more I listen to Zakk's live performances of Cowboys From Hell in particular, the more critical I get of his timing. He's a great guitarist, no doubt, one of my favorites in fact, and a perfectly fitting successor of Dime seeing how they were both great pals irl, I just personally wish he could have worked on the timing a bit more since it sounds like he's dragging a lot on this song (as well as perhaps not trying to shred so often during the solo of Planet Caravan).
@adam985185 I honestly feel they never intended to replicate Pantera sound 100%. Starting from the tuning, it's definitely at least 1 step down, but everything feels also a little slower. Zakk is more than capable of playing any of Dime's licks, but in order to pay tribute, he allows himself to do it a little differently. However, like I commented before, I do believe indeed Zakk, at least live performance wise, feels like the weakest link of this lineup, which is CRAZY for me to even say.
@@javieramundo You even know what a whammy bar is? Zakk doesnt. That along, should left him out the band. Its like enter Pantera on drums without knowing how.to play double kick. Zakk CAN'T play Dime shit.
I where wishing this kind of sound in the 90'sis ...todaylooks like yesterday cowboys still from hello, but...wtf!! Look at that!! Is full of people!!!!yeahh!!yes to u all!!!😂😂❤
I saw them a week or two later in a venue one quarter the size, I was 50 feet from the stage. Phil sounded even better that night than he does here. What a great show!
yeah he's killin it. also it's always gonna sound better live. that's why audio engineers do a lot of post production for official live videos. it takes a lot of work just to get it to sound close to how it did live. obviously this is just a raw video which makes it even more impressive he sounds this good here.
Wish I could see this, but I still have nothing but thanks and gratitude for y’all regardless. Thanks for the happiness and devotion y’all brought t so many then and now, it’s appreciated. Thank you you. R.I.P. brothers. Hope I get to heaven so I can see a monster three piece fight of, Dime,Eddie , and Vinnie Paul going Ham to gods delight. Much love.
@ramadhaniduff1484 Definitely, and everybody singing alone, I know that phone recorded videos can't capture the whole vibe, but it was an amazing energy. Especially during Walk.
I love the effort, but I miss Dimebag with all my heart, and I know we all do. Its just so crazy that any of this happened. I hope both brothers are chillin in heaven
I don't know what Phil has done, but I want his tips. I mean the guy sounded this good the last time in the 90ties, I never thought he could do this level again
@redacted227and shoes are going to prevent that? Go back to school and learn about electricity and conductivity. Who's this great number of musicians who died from it?
It would never be the same, 2 great ones are highly missed and would never be the same without them. They're doing a great job at paying tribute and doing their best to keep the legacy going on their own style. It's there for us metal lovers to enjoy it.
Is Zakk okay? That dude used to be mega jacked, and now he's scrawny and deflated. Maybe it's just that he stopped doing whatever (test, roads, HGH, or whatever) that made him so jacked up in the first place.
Yall see any difference between Pantera and Linkin Park reunion? A lot of people here angry at Pantera's reunion when ALL the family were part of the decision of them coming back. It was a mutual agreement. Linkin Park is a different case, Mike acted on his own, and Chester's family is publicly hating on the decision, and 2 longtime members left the band because of the decision. That definitely is a different scenario, and hard to respect it.
this sounds better from this perspective. I was in the nose bleeds and thought the vocals and guitars sounded kinda muddled. still a great performance tho. I'm glad metallica's mixing sounded much better.
James said the same thing about Metallica after Cliff died. It SUCKS but the band DOES play on. Dime and Vinnie were the best (RIP) and they will live on in our memories ...But metal NEEDS Pantera out there.
@@leebonifay5767 You just can't compare those two situations. Metallica hadn't split up when Cliff died but Pantera had split up and all the members were off doing other projects. Yeah there might have been a reunion at some point but the legacy of Dime and Vinnie is being tarnished by this blatant money grab. And for the record Zack is a nobody on the guitar compared to Dime.
Out of the Numerous times I've watched this video over and over I just barely noticed the Drummer breaking his Dum Stick about 30 seconds into the video Lol
GREAT Line up, They sound Amazing.. what a feeling it must be to be on that stage!! Now, Compare these guys to Motley Crue.. PLEEEASEE.. For starters these guys play their instruments.
Lol, indeed, he did. Actually, out of all of them, he was the one I saw least engaged with the show. He was just wandering around the stage. It seems like a transaction for him, idk if I can explain myself well. He was missing passion.
He was pretty much strong armed into it. This version of “Pantera” is a travesty. Phil sounds like 💩. I love Zakk and Charlie but they aren’t Dime and Vinnie. The heart and soul of Pantera are gone. Phil is a sham and Rex is a patsy.
Despite the love for this music, people no longer want to bang each other during concerts, they enjoy the music in peace. A little sad for those who perform, who perhaps would like to see people a little more involved.
@lucaboscolopalo7613 You're right, but you also have to think that most die-hard fans are not in their 20's anymore. As a band that has been around for almost 40 years, I think you should take that into consideration. New generations are not built the same way.
Not for Metallica. They usually do this but on Arenas, but this is the first time they do it at a stadium scale. Trust me, it's massive. It's exhausting just to see them go all the way around, Lol. The good thing is that it provides way more front row space for people to experience it than a regular face-forward stage.
man seeing this prespective of a band doing a football stadium is wild!!!! what a rush that would be but i mean shit rex did moscow so this is like a club compared to that!
Just doesn't work even close to how they were +30 years ago. I'd still have gone and had a good time but I wouldn't pay more than $100 for a front row ticket.
Good luck getting a front row ticket for the Metallica tour. There's no doubt that it is not the same. They're not pretending to be the same either. They are who they are. They did what they did, and the show was amazing and incredible fun to watch.
They will tour amphitheaters next summer probably and the tickets won't be over $100. If given the opportunity I wouldn't mind seeing them play live. Sadly though, Phil's voice just isn't that great anymore he has lost his dynamics and vocal range but the dude lived a hard partying life. When I saw Pantera at Ozzfest Phil was beyond wasted and he was pissing off the crowd with his incoherent rambling between songs, when it came time to sing though he delivered!
@@LeadMe2TheBliss I saw them back in August with LoG and Phil sounded great for his age, way better than I expected and the live videos aren’t doing it any Justice. Sure, it’s not nearly as great compared to how he sounded in the 90s and early 2000s, but that’s because he’s 55 now so it’s expected 🤷♂️
I have no idea, but he's been doing it this year. He actually came up on stage a few minutes before Pantera started, dressing like that, I thought he was just checking the stage. He walked around and said hi to everyone. But oit of the sudden the rest of the band came up and started the show.
A lot of times it's just the warmth of the stage on your bare feet. Helps blood flow just comfortable most of the time. You be surprised at how many actually do it
So wait...by Pantera...it's just Phil? I know Vinnie and Dime are gone...but it shouldn't be called Pantera...Phil joined Pantera. Pantera was Vinnie and Dimes and died with them...maybe I'm the only one mad at this?
Do you know who Rex Brown is? Do some research, brother. The fact that Vinnie and Dime founded doesn't mean that Pantera is just them because they didn't play by themselves. You can be all mad you want, but it is Pantera. Just enjoy it.
They need GNR on this tour and it would be 90's all over again. They all 3 toured together in the 90's. My guess is after the fire incident and riot with GNR Hetfield's answer would be no. But then again Axl is not the rowdy youngster he used to be now.
wow looks like literally noone is in spirit what a shame.i definitely miss how shows used to be where it looked like everyone was up and actually having a good time.damn.
Pantera still alive and never died.Best performance and great sound. And one thing,You're still the Cowboys From Hell Guys !! Miss You Dimm and Vinnie 💔
Kinda glad I didn't go to these shows, because that is NOT a Pantera crowd. In the old days, we'd all be pushing and shoving and having fun.... A real Pantera show ends with you having an imprint of the security rail on your chest, after you push your way to the front
Well, it was a Metallica headline show, would never be the same crowd as back in the 90's, and I wouldn't personally stop going to the show because of the "crowd." I go to see the band.
@javieramun fair enough. I only passed on this tour because (around here) it was being advertised as a Pantera "reunion", rather than a tribute. Side note: I haven't seen a routy Metallica crowd since 1998/99 lol
@@hankhill5409 yeah it's crazy to hear him finish every phrase lol. he sounds awesome though. tbh he doesn't need to be runnin around like 20 year old at this point anyway, long as he shows up and performs like this
@leadme2thebliss21 Phil is older but sounds fuckin great! Look at all the other aging singers and think about it! Like Vence Neil he'sa joke! David Lee Roth sounds so bad i cry when he takes the stage. I agree he's older but you gotta admit he still sounds good!
@@Wilders53 I saw them back in August with LoG and Phil sounded great for his age. I feel like these videos are distorting his voice though cuz how loud they are live and the speakers just don’t pick it up as well compared if you were actually there
@@Wilders53just because other older vocalists sound worse doesn’t mean Phil sounds good. I think he sounds horrible in this, maybe in person it sounded better but this isn’t good imo
