Except Phil is real. Slipknot just plays being metal. They're literally a clown show. I've tried many times getting into them. Seen them twice and that's what they are, a clown show that sucks and every decent song they have sound exactly the same. They're metal for fake metal fans.

I know this comment is 13 years old and I hope life finds you well but it’s true.. Phil was always real and hated all that commercial mainstream garbage… specially the modern state of metal nowadays. It’s absolutely horrendous.
pantera truly is the best HEAVY METAL band to ever exist. phil is so true and honest to his fans same goes for the rest of the band. i miss them more than anmything. atleast i can say i saw them live one time. rip dime pantera forever...i enjoyed every bit of brutal power that that concert spit out at me. phils roar blew the place up
I was at the Kalamazoo show in 96. Fucking great! Car broke down and was stranded in the parking lot. Everybody had gone. A record store owner gave us a ride as far as he could. Thanks bro if you read this. What a show man! And, what a night.
I am just glad that Phil over came his addiction. That shows how strong of an individual he is. It is too bad that all the other greats died from their addcition. From death comes creation though.

For anyone getting nostalgic for "when MTV was good"--this was MTV Europe. You can hear Vinny at the interview talk about how they don't play heavy stuff at home. By '96, HBB was done in the US and metal music was floundering as a mainstream genre. Most of the best bands/interviews from HBB you're combing through on YT are from Europe's version of the show, which featured heavier bands than the US version of the show. tldr: By 1996/1997, MTV in the states was a lot of Real World/Road Rules, and less music. HBB and Yo MTV Raps were done. There wasn't any magical time where MTV in the US was showing Pantera and Sepultura videos on their regular rotation. HBB was always a niche show on weekend nights.

I consider CFH their debut album. It’s the first album where Phil brought his New Orleans hardcore roots and it changed the metal scene for ever. The previous albums was really only demos.
The Great Southern Trendkill album was a heavy record, but at the same time it was a jab to Metallica and the other bands from the big four that was not doing what Pantera was doing in 1996.
Slipknot=Sellout Weak Mall Kid Metal. When Slipknot first came out I picked up the 💿 and enjoyed most of it. Second album was not too bad but then they started to weaken there sound in order to appeal to a bigger fan base for more 💰 which is called “Selling Out”. These Sellout followers who say “Slipknot is the most brutal hard metal!” 🤦♂️ Nope! Far from it. Right on man! I never pay for bootlegs. Unless the band sees the money from an official bootleg. I think that most bootlegers sell to make a buck in order to push drugs, or murders. Shit like that. That is just my belief. Also they are stealing from the band or bands they are bootlegging.
