Buying, selling and trading watches is common place for true watch connoisseurs. It is absolutely not true to say that you should only buy a watch directly from the brand house. While I can appreciate you buying your watch directly from Cartier it is absolutely silly to say that one cannot find an authentic preloved watch. Watch collectors seek vintage, older and hard to get models and shop with reputable AD’s all over the world.

The battery on your more recent Panthere will last for 6 years. When you are ready Buy the rose gold for serious class - just give the gold an occasional rub with a jewellers cloth it will retain its lustre.

hi! this is so helpful as I am looking for the same model myself (and have been tempted to get it on second hand luxury websites) One question - I noticed this in many pics of the watch and had disregarded it as fake, but what are the four letter on the back side of the links? I noticed yours has it too and now I am wondering what thats supposed to stand for? I saw a few saying CHAB, CEAK and BTDE but not sure what that is supposed to signify?

You are 100% right by being afraid of replicas. Chinese watch manufacturers are able to create 99% accurate copies for around $230. They don't have wonky fonts or shallow engravings anymore. Even the quartz movements looking real. Only way to assure authenticity is by buying directly from Cartier or reputable gray market dealers with inhouse watchmakers.

You don’t know enough about Cartier watches to make these statements, and it’s unfortunate people will watch your video and believe what you’re saying. There’s no way a ton of these reputable companies carry a ton of fake watches. That’s ludicrous. And if it was a part of their regular practice as you say, there’d be a ton of lawsuits. I just purchased a vintage Cartier Panthere Watch and it says Swiss on the bottom, not Swiss Made. I’ve taken it to Cartier for inspection and it’s authentic.

Oh, they do. I live in China for almost 15 years. Right next to huge watch market, it looks like a small village with thousands of shops. They have different quality watches there (all replicas), from really cheap to quite pricey ones . I’ve seen the video on RU-vid where the guy bought one knowing that’s replica just to make informative video and to compare with authentic one.He bought Cartier balloon blue to be specific and he couldn’t believe the copy was so perfect, he even commented that it’s same or even better quality (at few inside parts). All the documents with the receipt and original box included! They are scammers on line. For sure!

Is Cartier making the spinel in sapphire again? I thought it was only for gold watches and the rest were crystals. Would be amazing if that was the case as it was the only thing making me consider vintage versions.

Loved your review! My darling husband just bought me the Panthere in stainless with diamonds in the medium🤩for our 34th wedding anniversary. Sadly, it didn’t come with a cleaning kit or the travel pouch. I reached out to our lovely sales person and she is going to do her best to find one. She said the supplies are out😥 Nonetheless, I am smitten with this delightful piece for all the reasons you mentioned.

Just bought mine from Cartier, then I went on those second hand stores and it was very disappointing to find that they sold fakes. So please watch out. Save your money and go straight to Cartier to buy!
