Very nice subtle weathering, I always think less is more. I doubt there's any modeller who hasn't stuck a piece on the wrong way round- I know I have! I like your tyre-painting invention, I must remember it as an alternative to using a circle template as a mask.

Nice tank. Our Hobby Lobby had that Tamiya kit on close out a few years ago for $5.00 each. I bought about almost all of them. I have a Diorama idea of having a plt of Panxer IIs doing something, haven’t really got it all down though.

Glen, looks really great (especially the chunks taken out of the road wheel rubber surrounds)! Congrats on the barrel salvage job and repositioning the vision port but especially on your clever creativity with the mechanized road wheel painting procedure! You have probably unleashed a tsunami henceforth for every armor modeler with a rotary tool who hates painting road wheel surrounds. Too bad such a fine specimen will be knocked out in its final vestage in your forthcoming diorama. Cheers.

It's good to see that those who share, make mistakes......and shares them with viewers, especially us mediocre modellers who despair when trying to emulate the skills of others and fail miserably. Good save on the gun and cover....damn those poor instructions! Really great job overall but will be looking to see what destructive forces you unleash on the Panzer.

I'm not a rivet counter either but since mistakes were bought up i am pretty sure your tank tracks are facing the wrong direction? The triangle shapes should be pointed towards the rear of the tank.

I’m building this kit right now. The barrel, as supplied by Tamiya is way too big to be the 2cm KwK in 1/35 scale. If you think about it, a 2cm bore is only about 3/4” and this is shown very clearly on photos from the period or from museums now. There are several aftermarket brass 2cm KwK barrels in 1/35 scale, some with appropriate muzzle devices, for just a few dollars. The downside is the Tamiya supplied MG 34 is also too big and next to the brass 2cm, it looks even bigger. So, I ended up having to buy MG 34 tips as well - not expensive, just unplanned. For anyone who chooses to get the brass barrels, the mantle hole is too big. I filled it in with putty.

How much fun does this tank give in building, paint and weathering as well as making a centerpiece in a dio? Great fun with this over the years
