African entrepreneurs rely on PAPACKS® molded pulp packaging to reduce plastic waste.
Tahsin Dag - Founder & CEO of PAPACKS® - received over 20 executives from African companies at the PAPACKS® headquarters in Cologne.
The reason for this: to ensure more sustainability in the packaging industry worldwide.
With the support of UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) more than 20 entrepreneurial decision-makers from different African countries came together to find out and exchange information about alternative solutions for avoiding plastic in the packaging industry.
Your first port of call: The PAPACKS® School of Sustainability, where Tahsin Dag presented how molded pulp serves as a sustainable alternative to plastic. Beginning with the extraction of raw materials through to the processing of a finished packaging product, the lasting advantages of cast pulp were explained, which positively surprised the African representatives.
At the same time, they identified enormous potential for molded pulp packaging in their regions, as domestic production of molded pulp could be favored by local raw material sources such as palm trees and coconut shells.
The meeting was a success on all sides. The participants gained valuable knowledge about sustainable molded pulp packaging alternatives and PAPACKS® as a company got the opportunity to promote the spread of sustainable molded pulp packaging in Africa.
