Reminds me of a set of bowls my late grandmother had. She got them for a wedding gift when she was just 19. She would be 122 years old by now. Really nice to watch and brought back a lot of memories

I started doing the tattoos on my cement pots last year, but found that they fade in sunlight and are really not UV resistant. Great idea and look great at first, but they just weren't something I wanted to disappoint my customers with.

I’m surprised although I wouldn’t have them outside in the sun. I have a few things I’ve made with tattoos on a couple of years ago and they are fine, but in a very shaded place. I’m going to move them into a sunny place now and see how long they take to fade. Thanks so much for letting me know, ❤

I wonder if the fading has something to do with the pH of cement? It is very alkaline. Did you seal the cement before putting on the tattoos, and over the tattoo? I haven't tried tattoos in anything but resin, and so far, I haven't noticed fading, but it might be the alkaline cement together with UV is just too much for the tattoos.

Absolutely hate the fight with cling wrap. Cut my hands on the cutter yanking on the film. But it works sot hr fight goes one. Love this project

I made a cup like this ("rustic") a while back. It was regular clay tho, and was fired in a kiln. I even put an eagle (or similar bird) on the outside as an applique. It was never painted or varnished, but it has lasted all this time (2004/2005) as a display piece. I have been wanting to find a way to smooth the surface, but I'm not sure how to do it since it was fired initially. I did it as an art class assignment. I ran out of time that day to finish it, as the class tried to put 16 weeks of assignments into an 8 week class.
