This is the paper floor that I put in my living room. Monotonous work, but it looks good. This is not a how to tutorial, rather a video that I video I posted for friends and family curios about my paper floor and have been thinking about doing one for themselves. Enjoy.

I loved the bird in the middle of your video. Floor looks great! I'm planning on doing this floor in a room I'm redoing.

El piso aguantó bien. Yo también tenía un perro. Desde entonces he vendido mi casa.

Utilicé poliuretano de madera Varathane para el acabado. Utilicé tinte de madera a base de agua para el color. Usé pegamento de papel tapiz para adherir el papel al suelo. Gracias por preguntar.

Can this also be done with wallpaper?

Essence Smith I don’t see any reason why it can’t. I did use wall paper glue.

We have 4 dogs and 2 are larger breads. Do you think it would hold up their traffic , nails , and occasional accidents.

Todd Soileau I think it'd be alright. It's not the absolute most durable surface but it is cheap and easy to fix. I used good hardwood varathane. That was the most expensive part of the project. Nicks, cuts, scrapes are cheap, easy, and fast to fix. Keep in mind, my video isn't a tutorial. I made to show friends and family what I was up to with my floors. There are tons of great how to's on RU-vid for paper floors. Thanks for viewing and hope I helped.

Please tell me how it's holding up, almost 2 years later?

Lisa P it seems to be doing really well. I did my kitchen like this the year before. There is a wear spot from food oils and water and heavy use in front of the sink. Nothing a 10 minute fix can't cure. That's why I like this floor so much. You can be hard on it and it's really simple and quick to fix. Want me to do follow up video for you?

Did you us water and glue it did you use poly? Also was this a concrete floor or a wood floor. Looking at doing this in my basement.

Designs By DeAngelo I used wallpaper glue. Seems to work great. Hindsight I should have used Polyurethane to glue it down in the kitchen, but the wallpaper glue works great everywhere else. My subfloor is particle board. Might check to see if install techniques are different on concrete.

I forgot to mention, it’s advisable to use a water-based hardwood polyurethane. It’s expensive but has the durability that regular polyurethane does not have. I used Varathane’s water-based hardwood polyurethane. Applied 10 coats. It’s $55 or so per gallon.

Did you use polyurethane and what color stain
@ibmingus

I used a water based hardwood floor specific polyurethane from Varathane. If it isn't hardwood floor polyurethane it won't be durable enough for a floor. I think hardwood floor polyurethane has aluminum oxide in it to make it harder. For stain I used red mahogany Varathane. It's important to let the stain to completely dry, or you'll have issues with the polyurethane curing properly. I learned this the hard way.

And is that masking paper
@ibmingus
@ibmingus 6 лет назад
Yes, it's masking paper... There is also flooring paper which is a bit thicker. I liked the masking paper a bit better because it doesn't soak up as much glue, and is easier to paste to the floor without bubbles. The thicker paper may be more durable but it's hard to get the bubbles out and it tends to swell up when applying glue. Some paper is treated on one side which may make it hard to apply stain if the wrong side is up. I didn't have this issue but I have read where other people have.
