Lemme remind you guys. This game is what later set the permanent stepping stone towards the Koopalings' personalities. After this game, they had these personalities since, like Morton's speech impediment.

This is probably the only Mario game where I can actually enjoy fighting the Koopalings due to them actually having a personality in the game.

I love ludwig's fight and the intro to roy, he's just like " hey i'm gonna vibe and then shuffle to you with my minions" god I loved that intro.

I like how Morton Roasts himself at the end of the Bossfight.

46:26 This part is pretty sorrowful in my opinion. Poor Bowser doesn't have a clue about what's going on, but the Black Paint has consumed his mind and soul, turning him into a monster.

Just replayed this game again and finished it, and honestly it is very underrated. The music, graphics, and exploration are great. Ik the battle system is tedious but everything else makes up for it

We all gotta admit the Wendy fight was awesome, a rhythm fight! Plus it’s really unique and the music is awesome.

I really don't think the koopalings deserve so much hate. If done well they can actually be pretty fun characters.

Kamek’s theme is 8 years old, dating back to Paper Mario Sticker Star for the Nintendo DS and yet it still manages to be a banger.

Who else likes music themed boss fights? Wendy is my favorite boss for this reason. Her attack and the use of the camera is just a good idea in my opinion. The music is this icing on this boss fight cake

Why do people dislike this game? It looks stunning

I gotta say, the Ludwig boss battle was my favorite. The end was emotional. Balloons and Tail Whips do jobs perfectly. You also had to get some specific thing cards in order to beat the most powerful attacks/defences ever. By the way Black Shy Guy's weakness is POW Blocks.

You destroy Morton's mallet and make him start doubting his self-worth You make Iggy realize he got scammed and proceed to embarrass him in front of the masses You use a big brain maneuver to defeat the raging simp (Also known as Wendy, po-tay-to po-tah-to) You defeat an overconfident Larry so hard that he decides the best option is to run away from home -to eat some lamb chops- You pop Lemmy's most prized possession, which leads to him trying to hide the tears You outsmart Roy by putting him in a fucking washing machine And Ludwig accepts defeat like the absolute chad that he is.

“No more Mr. Nice Roy!” *Starts literally beating the shit out of you*

You need the fire extinguisher to defeat Morton or else you won’t be able to attack him and you’ll get a Game Over once he drains all your health. And it’s worth noting that it’s also an automatic loss if you use replicas. Iggy can only be defeated by the bone and if it’s not used he and his minions will use their chariots to dodge your attacks. Ludwig requires the balloons thing to lift his submarine out of the water for you to attack him. Larry requires the cork thing to clog up the funnel, otherwise the smoke will make all your attacks fail and will also heal Larry. Wendy requires the instant camera or else she will lock you with her giant ring. Lemmy requires two things- the disco ball and the ice pick. The disco ball prevents him from dodging your attacks and if you don’t use the disco ball first he will dodge the ice pick, which you need to pop his ball so you can attack him without getting hurt. Finally, Roy requires the washing machine thing to clear away the black paint or else Mario will get hurt touching it and won’t be able to attack Roy

Personally, I found this game to be fairly solid. It was definitely better than Sticker Star, and from what I've seen in the trailer for The Origami King, the game seems to have slightly gone back to it's roots since they brought back the partner system.

Gotta admit, the boss soundtracks are one of the best parts of this game.

I feel like no one talks about this... why are the koopalings so freaking huge in this game? I mean Iggy is like as tall as three Marios, where in NSMB they’re like the same height.

I AM SO EXCITED FIR MARIO AND THE ORIGAMI KING! I love Paper Mario Color splash, it’s just one of my favorite games, it’s so nostalgic and I hold it so close to my heart. Origami king is definitely living up to the hype and will definitely do right to Color Splash!!

I love this game so much the graphics, music, story, battles are awesome! I really hope nintendo makes similar games to this in the future its such a good game and deserves alot more love. Its my favorite!

I might be incredibly wrong... but i have a feeling that the boss fight with Iggy sort of inspired the new battle system with The Origami King.

As much as I do enjoy Paper Mario: Color Splash, and find it vastly superior over its 3DS predecessor, I do feel there are a few things about it that makes it just shy of being an amazing game. The biggest offender by far is Kamek. As soon as he appears in the game he'll randomly appear whenever you encounter a normal battle, and then mess with your cards by either flipping them over so you can't see what to use until you've chosen it, remove all but 6 of your cards, or replace them with just a single copy of cards like all Worn-Out Jumps, etc. What makes this even more frustrating is that Kamek disables the "Run" button so you really have no other option but to TRY, and win the battle which is just asinine! All it does is that it can lead to potential unwinnable fights, and possibly frequent game overs especially if you don't know what to do! You either have 1, or the other, not BOTH! At worst, they could've just had him disable the "Run" button, and nothing more, but, of course, that wasn't good enough... And the worst part is that you'd THINK after defeating Kamek he'll leave you alone throughout the rest of the game, right? After all, he does explode into paint refills, but, NOPE, he NEVER goes away...! Once he 1st shows up he's there forever... At least things go back to normal once a battle has won, but that still doesn't make it any less annoying. There's no way the Kamek encounter was play-tested. It's by far the worst part of the game.Thankfully, in my opinion, the better story, writing, and characters more than make up for it. If it wasn't for this, and several other issues in Color Splash, I'd probably rank it higher as one of my personal favorite Wii U games, but, as is, it's pretty low on the list. Hopefully, Origami King will fix these issues! Sorry for my ridiculously long rant...

I love these bosses cause they don’t take like an hour and aren’t that hard, unlike Mario and Luigi, where your stuck for hours, and you don’t even know if your almost done with the boss!!!

If Origami King has as much personality and funny dialogue like this one did, that alone will carry the next game for me, hell, this is also coupled with honestly really catchy music on top, I enjoyed Color Splash enough on that alone, it was fun. I'm not TOO nervous for the future next release, so let us see what happens.

Ludwig was prepared for you. He has a BATTLESHIP to take you out. A BATTLESHIP. FIRING ACTUAL CANNONBALLS. You have to use tail attacks to block everything. The third Ship phase actually screwed up my timing. Then you have to bring his Submarine up and out of the water with the balloons. Then when you wreak his submarine he's quite the pushover actually.

Great game. I do wish I had the first 3 Paper Mario games since I started with Sticker Star (don't care what anyone says, in my experience it was ok).

I loved TTYD, I loved Sticker Star, I loved Color Splash, and even today, my opinions still havent changed because they were fun games to me and kept me entertained.

Alright I'm going to say it ..... Color splash is in my opinion better than TTYD Now before you all murder me let me explain. Firstly the character: Many people complain about there only be Toads in the game. That is one of the few points I can agree with and even then they all have distinct personality and are fun to listen to. Secondly The battle system : I actually think the battle system is better in this game because In TTYD most of the time you just spam jump or hammer on your enemy without second thoughts but here you actually have to think! "Should I use this card?" "Maybe I shouldn't because maybe the enemy will die from the previous attack and I do not want to waste this card." "Should I use a good card on this enemy or save them for later?" You see what I mean? It's way more strategic and the fact that you can't choose your target adds to that strategy. And if you're out of cards just grind like any RPG ever. It's really easy to farm cards. Third The Boss Battles : I don't really have a problem with the Koopalings since this is their debut in the Paper series. And honestly I don't think it's really hard to know what to do most of the times you can explore (like you should do in a RPG) and find multiple hints before the battle (Maybe except Roy but even then it's pretty obvious you have to use a washing machine) Now for anything else this game is really good. The story isn't as good as TTYD (obviously) but it's still pretty solid considering it's more about the black paint than it is about Bowser and Peach. The soundtrack is just awesome and so are the graphics. So this is my opinion about Color Splash if you disagree pls don't kill me.

The Ludwig fight was always my favorite, just because of how creative it was. You had to exploit a certain gimmick in order to win (reflecting the cannonballs), versus some of the other bosses where you would just whale on them until you needed a Thing card or they just died. Wendy is a nice one too because of the rhythm thing. The music for both all of the bosses just SLAPS as well.

I like that ludwig’s a good sport and knows when he’s beat
