Jet Bluefin James well for the last 5 Thing bosses Mario fought He smash Color Pencils with its own pencils Pull and fling Rubber Band Ripped Hole Puncher's rubber bottom off Continuous pull Tape's tape Flip Scissors when incase in ice and fist smash it... So... Yeah, Stapler's defeat was brutal.
You’re right! I was about to mention TTYD and Super Paper Mario, but I remembered that you still fight Bowser in those games, just not as the final boss
I think Bowser and Mario are actually starting to become friends. Yeah, Bowser said he would probably use the airship against Mario in the future, but because of the relationship conveyed between Mario and Bowser in this game, it probably won't happen anytime soon.
@@maxminton7861 Your right; he got possessed by the black paint. He didn't even do anything then. In sticker star he got possessed by the crown too. So actually, its been a while since Mario and Bowser fought out of Bowser's will.
I just realized something. The Legion of Stationary act the opposite of their real life version. Colored Pencils can help kids make their worlds colorful, yet it acts like a pretentious hipster artist, blaming other for failing, disliking popular thing because they are popular, and liking the old things because they’re “retro”. He’s seeing the world in black and white. When Mario ruins his case, it shows what he is; a jaded washout. Rubber Bands help keep things together, yet the one in game throw himself around like a little sister. He’s self centered, to the point of being literally self-destructive. When he runs out of Bands because of his tactics, he blames Mario, not himself. He’s an actor who’s view of himself is so big, it could push out the air in a room. Him being shot out says he’s a entitled brat, and doesn’t deserve any respect. Hole Punchers make holes to make things orderly and neat, yet he’s frantic, never wanting to stop partying, and is so angry when no one wants to that he stole faces to make them dance. He’s a spotlight wanter, stealing the sun to party, and hiding till Mario gets him out. Mario ripping out his back is basically saying he’s spineless. Tape helps kids display things on walls, yet he’s shady, covers up things that are important, and is a stereotypical mafioso. Him sticking up Toads to the tower is like “sleeping with the fishes”. His tape being wrung out is his acts being found, and his torn down by the public. Scissors help create art, yet the in game on wants to destroy. He takes great pleasure in doing so, and is so much of a sadist that he desecrates the Bowser army’s faces for a pointless mini boss. He died without saying a word, because his sadistic pleasures destroyed him so much that he couldn’t speak. Staplers are the staple (ha) of office supplies, which are known to be orderly, yet here’s this thing. He’s a rabid dog, biting and attacking anything just because. His mouth being broken is Mario shooting the dog, to stop others from suffering. Edit: Glad to see people like this. I added some more.
Honestly I don’t know what some people have against these bosses. Based you r description it makes sense for these to be Ollys generals; especially with Scissors and Stapler. One being the top lieutenant of the stationary bosses and one being the source of all Olly’s folded troops
This is one of the best fights in the game. As Olly's guard dog, Stapler doesn't have any sort of tricks like the other LoS members. It just attacks, with the only things close to being a gimmick being its ammo system and the staples getting stronger as the fight progresses. The previous LoS members were great in their puzzles; Stapler is great in its simplicity.
I've done that "finisher" to my own staplers by boredom-induced accident, and can confirm, if you do it quickly enough, it can break them pretty badly by forcing the spring-loaded pushing mechanism out of the little rails it runs on. Basically ruins the stapler - getting that little pusher part back in can be an absolute pain and can sometimes involve a hammer, which MAY also just dent the thing up and force another trip to the office supplies store. Mario knew exactly what he was doing, snapping that scary pooch 270 degrees like that. (And looking closely, the hinge on top of it that connects the plastic loader to the top section does indeed snap loose when Mario wrangles that thing...)
Irl damage to paper mario Color pencil piercing paper mario Rubber bands bends paper mario Hole punch decimated paper mario Tape taping paper mario down Scissors slices paper mario Stapler pinning down mario when he gets up damaged
@@almondjoy4938 yeah. Literally when I fought this boss I kept yelling" bad dog" while hitting it then when I did the finisher, I just laughed and felt bad doing it. Am I that cruel?
@@Mqstodon characters as in like man with hole punch hat break dancing and dabbing around like a dork rather than a hole puncher with attitude, character was the wrong word to use on my part
13:03 Mario: Stapler. Stapler, Stapler, Stapler. It's okay. Silence now. You are going to give back to us far more than you could ever know. Don't be afraid, Stapler. Enjoy this moment. It is so much more vibrant than the darkness that awaits you. I will give you this moment to cherish this. That is my gift to you. Existence is behind you now, Stapler. Enjoy the silence.
A guard dog stapler......I’ve actually never thought of that. That’s pretty cool. Honestly, I was hesitant about about the stationary bases but they did a good job with their boss fights and the fact they’re art supplies makes sense to the plot. This is a really good game. 😌👌
It annoys me so much when old paper Mario fans shit on this game cuz it doesn't have an xp system. Through my entire playthrough I never once thought "I wish there was an xp system". Some people will draw every bad thing out of this game and not acknowledge any of the good parts. They say the story is very basic but they didn't even play the game because the plot is actually very interesting. They complain about the legion of stationary but neglect to mention WHY the bosses are office supplies. In my opinion, origami king is the second best paper Mario of all time. I love all of them but this game ranks right above the original and right below thousand year door for me
@@chickennoodlegamer915 i hate how they complaon before even playing or stuff like that. And they complain about everything that isn't a copy pasta of ttyd. I get things like original characters would made the game better, but they literally shit on everything! I was watching for example scott falco twitch stream amd people complained about how the game was super easy (in literally the fucking first world), then as the game progresses, things got too difficult and chat staryed saying game is shit because it's too confusing. Like, what the fuck! I too really loved it, i think it's gonna be my 3rd favorite because i just loved super paper mario story and yeah, ttyd is my favorite. But this one was really great!
While watching these bosses I realized I used to play with office tools like scissors and staplers when I was a kid, and they were evil just like in this game. It's actually nice
I won that fight without dying because of luck I mashed jump at the point that he tried to trick you by backing up for a bit and I SWEAR to god I was like a frame away from dying
Gabe Gaberson, same. It took me a few tries to beat him because I didn’t realize you could freeze him. I just though both of the magic circles were water.
Can we talk about how terrifying it was to see the cut up bodies of bowsers minions make a path leading up the scissors? Tbh all the legions of stationary are pretty creepy in what they do leading up to the eventual boss fight, like seeing toads without their faces or walking past toads screaming from being taped onto the tower. Say what you want about them but man they sure are intimidating.
If it wasn’t just an office supply, that finisher would have made the age rating skyrocket, and even then it narrowly avoids it considering how brutal it was.
Guide to beating stapler: always go for the extra turn space and attack from as far away as possible. For your attacks always chose boots. Doing this gets you 8 staplers gone and makes it safer
Legion of Stationery risk of harm to paper vs humans Coloured Pencils: Paper - Oh no, I’ve been drawn on! Humans - Doesn’t even do anything. Unless you sharpen them, they might be able to scratch you Rubber Band: Paper - I've been tied up, I can't move! Humans - DON’T FLICK IT AT ME. Also can cut your circulation if wrapped around a finger or something too tight Hole Puncher: Paper - MY FACE Humans - Can’t do anything even if you stick your hand inside it Tape: Paper - No, I can’t move! Humans - Ugh, it’s so sticky! Annoying... Scissors: Paper - Scissors beats paper. Deadly. Humans - Don’t run with scissors. Stapler: Paper - Gets bound to another piece of paper, can’t move Humans - OUCH
I had around the same amount of coins when I got to that part of the game and all I did when kill every enemy I came across and find a lot of the hidden ? blocks. The game loves to throw money at your face.
CrimsonSonic 2 I know, at one point in the Game (Shroom City) if you rescue a Toad, go to his Mansion in Toad Town and talk to him... you get 10k Coins!
13:10 olly: Mario what are you doing to my dog? *Mario kills said stapler* noooooooo! You monster. He was such a good guard dog too. *Olly gets angry* That's it no more mister nice guy.
When you get the game and copy what he did to this boss, DON'T. Instead of hammer use boots. Boots remove 4 staples while hammer just 1 (not saying that you're bad at the game tho BFD. You're doing good)
*_Goes to neighbors house_* Neighbor: Oh hey how are you? *Grabs his dog* Neighbor: Oh look he likes you, he's adorable isnt h- *_Snaps its neck_* Neighbor: DUDE WHAT THE FRICK
I wish we could befriend Stapler and have it join our party by the power of belly rubs. I know partners don't appear in bosses and Olly is the only enemy after Stapler, but it would still be adorable and wholesome for a Olivia to give belly rubs to stapler.
Ngl. I found this guy to be much easier compared to Scissors. Actually, out of all the Stationaries, he’s by far the weakest when it comes to how you deal with him. He’s not super hard due to the fact that he doesn’t affect the grid at all; opposed the other stationeries. Which kinda sucks cuz it could’ve been more challenging if there were hazards or something. Despite that, I still enjoyed this fight and it’s boss theme is great. Not quite as tense as Scissor’s theme, but still great. Seriously. The soundtrack in this game is amazing!!
Scissors is not that hard for me,he does not do much in terms of arena disturbance. The only thing that makes him hard is just the one hit move he has.
While he is relatively easy he is also the most important because his staples are whats keeping all the folded people stuck which not only grants them an army it also keeps powerful threats like Bowser in a severely reduced state.
The Legion of Stationary is basically Paredolia: The Bosses and I'm all about it. When you think about it, origami is all about implementing pareidolia into craft. The piece of paper that you fold into a rabbit obviously isn't a real rabbit, but your mind still wants to recognize it as one. This game is really well thought out.
Mario:oh look olly attacket me with a animal proteckting him cause dogs do that......... Mario:LETS BREAKE HIS JAWS AND BRUADALY KILLING IT me:😲 Nintendo:fOlLoW mArIo On HiS mOsT hIlArIuS aDvEnTuRe
Me while fighting Rubber Band Boss: Whats next, a Stapler fight? Me seeing this for the first time: *_I WAS JOKING._* also i’m gonna make this same joke on other videos i see this because why not oof
Considering how TTYD fans are pretty good in setting up strategies like Peril and Danger Mario(& Partner), creating a TAS which speedruns the game in under 2 hours, I'm pretty sure they won't have much of a problem with this boss. It's the people like me who don't use their brains much who will struggle with this boss. Not the TTYD fans
VincentSM Tran TTYD fans wont even buy the game. Have you seen the reviews on the metaric page. It’s been given a 6.1 and most off the negative reviews are then just saying “it’s not TTYD” and “there’s no partners” proving they haven’t even played the game or watched any of it. It’s absolutely shambolic
SLuigiFan 147 yeah. Read the metric scores. If you read the negative ones all they say are “it’s not TTYD” and “it’s not paper mario 64” and “I hate it” they’re spamming hate on it in hope that Nintendo remakes TTYD. The TTYD fans are so toxic. It’s not all of them obviously but it’s the majority off them.
@@Anonhaha122 man I really hate that part of the ttyd fanbase because it portrays the more open minded and calmer part of the first games in a bad light
While I do agree about the brutal back snap at 13:04, just remember, we have Super Paper Mario. That game is all about death and darkness. At one point you even visit hell and the equivalent of the River Twigz! If you think about it, the staplers death is pretty normal. Let that sink in.
Would the fan be the betrayer of the legion of stationary considering its an office supply and helped mario in the adventure? Is the fan even apart of it?
Best strategy for stapler: stay far away and jump on it from a distance so it wastes staples, then grab the thousand fold arms and go to town. Repeat for about 3 times
At 13:21 if you listen closely, you can also hear the thing whining before it explodes. Cause y'know, it's not like we just snapped this thing's jaw backwards a few seconds ago or anything
