Just found out today that I have this in both of my eyes. Hopefully only idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Have to see a neurologist in the next few weeks just to rule anything serious out

I found out today after my yearly eye exam. I am pretty worired. I mean they told me I shouldn't worry too much about it saying that treatment and such is not painful but...I can't help but worry.

My daughter also has same problem, she is detected has stenosis of the transverse sinus in its distal half seen on both sides, no thrombosis or venous infarct associated, its associated with optic signs n empty pelle syndrome n keeping with idiopathic intracranial cranial hypotension, no tumor, no infection, she has got twice lumber puncture n it could get depressed the pressure in the eyes, but, lumber puncture is just for awhile treatment cause ur brain keeps producing water, so the doctor gives her acetazolamide pills to low down the water produces of brain, the other solution from doctors is to put pipe in her head to her stomach, but we dare not do it yet, cause some doctors said it is not 100% can guarantee that the problem solved, cause my daughter is not having hydrocephalus, her brain is completely good without swollen, there is a doctor who said if it is stenosis in sinus traverses, then the way out is stunting it, but its very dangerous with some possibility of fail and no doctor can do it in Indonesia, we have no money to take her abroad, we also had tried with DSA To wash her brain vessels but it didn't help, now we really don't know what to do, please if someone can tell us what to do, we have spent a year to look for a doctor who can cure her, but we can't find it yet

Just got diagnosed today. My peripheral vision is wavy and back in 2009 I used to have these awful headache in the back of my head. My brain's arteries and veins biggins palpitating with my heart beat. Now, as a man, the headaches and symptoms of head aches appear when I have sex, as I start to the ejaculation phase it goes higher and higher, and at the hight of the pain, my brain feels as if is going to blow up. Is reall, really painful. The headaches just began to occur just as my vision became wavy just a month ago. So right now I cant even have sex. This sucks. Doc can you tell me what to do so I can go back to my normal routines.

Hi this sounds like a subarachnoid haemorrhage and I would advise you to consult a medical doctor about this.
@wisegirl4713
@wisegirl4713 Год назад
What you need is a CT scan preferably at the time of symptom. Go to the emergency department to get this checked (depending on your location/country)

I had transverse venous sinus stinting (2x stents due to stenosis) done after after a ct and a venogram. You are right about the hemorrhage. I also had IIH and a aneurysm and papiladema grade 3. 3 months after procedure most of my headaches have gone away. Thanks for your response

Thank you sir , why would lumbar puncture lead to brain stem herniation ?
@allornonelaw
@allornonelaw 6 лет назад
Lumbar puncture can cause death if you do it in a patient who has raised intracranial pressure by causing herniation of brainstem through foramen magnum causing compression of brainstem which has centre for respiration. The moment you do lumbar puncture you are decreasing pressure in spinal cord by taking fluid out and hence brain will try to descend through foramen magnum and gets compressed as brain is large and foramen magnum can't expand. In suspected disc swelling or papilloedema always to brain scan before doing lumbar puncture. Thanks AONL team

Detection of optic disc by means of nano technology is possible or not
@allornonelaw
@allornonelaw 6 лет назад
There are lot of techniques emerging to see if it is a papilloedema or is it normal variation of disc appearance. There is no test based on nanotechnology to detect disc swelling. We need to take into consideration patient's history and eye examination findings. Tests help to make diagnosis but most important thing is to look reason for disc appearance rather than diagnosing disc swelling. Always get expert opinion before sending unnecessary investigations but at the same time don't miss disc swelling. Thanks AONL team

I have it too, I had a vision test and they took pictures of my eyes ( which were swollen) so sometime this week I’m getting an mri to make sure there’s no brain tumors ( which my doctor is confident that there isn’t) then I’m going to get a spinal tap, that’s where they put a needle in your spine to relieve all the pressure and fluids, but I’m going to be completely asleep for it.
