I have fond memories of Kulau Lodge. My late wife, Kay, and I spent a brief honeymoon there when we were married in Rabaul in 1968. Kulau was always a beautiful place and looks even better today with much more luxurious accommodation. Back then our honeymoon bed was in a concrete bunker, possibly a relic of WW2, and when the generator was turned off it became pretty stifling. So late at night we went to the beach and paddled out in the moonlight in a small outrigger canoe we found there. We did not stay out on the water too long, but it is a lovely memory of the start of a life together that lasted 47 years.
This “IS” home for me❤️❤️.... my older sister and I basically spent all our school term breaks here at Kulau when we were little in Rabaul with Leilani and Mum (aunty) Ailini (Owners of Kulau). We basically grew up here together ❤️❤️❤️I can vividly remember always looking forward to the end of the term so that we could go for two whole weeks at Kulau. We would also help out with (well I was actually just having fun😂😂) taking the guests out on scuba-diving, troll fishing or even snorkeling. Till to this day, even when I live abroad, friends from all over the world ask me where was the best place you’ve ever been to?! I tell them.. you know what, let me just take you back to Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬, ENBP, Rabaul, Kabakada village~~ to the hidden PARADISE~~~KULAU LODGE 😍❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾
The first thing that always comes to my mind when I think about this beautiful resort is Tranquillity! The next is the food they serve is absolutely delicious and perfect. The staff there are so humble and great. Well done Lani and family🙏😇❤
As a kid back in the 80s I first heard about the Kulau lodge through the music of Rabaul's Pacific Gold Studios musicians such as the Barike Band.One of their songs titled "Tolai Girl" has this line.."we danced at Kulau,right up through the morning,the Eastern sun is dawning,shinning on my skin"..etc etc.. ..And it's great to see this girl in the video is helping her parents operate this great iconic Rabaul Lodge..What a fantastic place. Big respect to you and Kulau lodge.Awesome place to relax ..

I spoke to you once on the phone and we had a wonderful conversation in tokpisin even I have not met you, but now I see you in this video. You're are beautiful person. Actually I stayed here in 2021. I really enjoyed the place and everything. The service is very pheonomenal and the staffs are very friendly. Such a nice place to hang out. Looking forward for my next trip. Upload more promotional videos👍👍
It's a shame whoever made this video didn't check audio levels! I wanted to hear what Leilani was saying, but it's terribly distorted and blown out. Would love to visit this resort one day because it looks nice though!
