Delightful, vibrant, joyous, exciting, almost dangerous ... I couldn't stop smiling. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂Does anyone know when this was filmed? Will watch this many many times, it makes me happy (and it is well filmed ... not too many edits). Thank you for posting.
Возобновил балетмейстер Никита Долгушин. Танцуют: Никита Долгушин, Валентина Муханова, Тамара Статкун, Елена Алканова, Наталья Михалевская, Мария Вишневская и др.
Transliteration of HelgaMaq's post: Staged by Nikita Dolgushin. Principals: Dolgushin and Valentina Mukhanova, Tamara Statkun, Elena Alkanova, Natalia Mikhalevskaya, Maria Vishnevskaya and others. (I believe that it was originally Vinogradov's staging, which he further adapted at the Kirov. And of course the theater was officially the Maly Opera Theater at that time, though still remembered as the Mikhailovsky. The full evening was filmed, Hommage to Petipa, with Halte de cavalerie and Harlequinade.)
Here is one problem...those ridiculous Russian fouettes. A Fouette is a whip, not a plie side. It looks awful, is incorrect and NEVER works. Drives me crazy. They have changed though these days,
markie polo I don't know why they keep doing just that awful movement. I was taught by really old Russian teachers and their students and we always trained from écarté to second position. We were told fouetté means whipped so must do that. I remember clearly this old teacher telling us to don't imitate many ballerinas. I will try to look what Vaganova has said on her book regarding this step.
