Raining and cold what better afternoon for a small project. I hate that top smacking me in the face as well. Under an hour and my nalgene has a new tether like yours. Thank you for the inspiration. Being a child of the 50s and hippish in the 60s the macrame came flooding back into my mind watching your video. I however finished the slip knot with a square knot to hold it in place and it can be untied to tighten. Thanks, I would send pics but not sure how.

Thank you now I know what to do when my niece breaks my Nalgen strap due to the wear n tear of the plastic strap from the way she holds it. Getting really expensive to buy the nalgen bottle spare parts here in Singapore.

Tried this on the small mouth nalgene. My only issue with my project is when I open and close the water bottle the braided chord twists with the cap (as opposed to the cap twisting freely. I am thinking maybe taking the casing off of the chord that is attached to the lid? Other than making it thinner… I’m not sure what other options there may be

All in all not a bad idea, but I found that insulated wire and heat shrink tubing worked better for me. Braiding just sucks up too much time.

AlaskanFrontier1 LoL. XD Just got starting mine with a more military look, green colour with a tiny reflective cord together is gonna be cool i think, spotting my SS nalgene is gonna be easier at camps hopefully. Good luck with your channel :)
