Paradox Pokemon Suck!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced Paradox Pokemon to the game and they are probably the worst design Pokemon by far. Totally unsure what they plans were before the development process started however Paradox Pokemon are not only lazy but their lore designs are bad as well. Pokemon always finds a way to do something new and with only 16 paradox Pokemon that are similar to region forms from other games these Pokemon are not very special. Pokemon like Iron Leaves and Walking Wake are the newest ones and should have just been evolutions or a region form.

Hi! Fellow Pokémon fan here, and before anything I gotta say you brought up a lot of great points about the Paradox mons and how most if not all of them don’t make sense compared to their modern day counterparts. I for one personally like the Paradox mons, but to each their own :] I found myself wondering why they don’t make sense either, from both a lore and Pokédex standpoint, but then realized it’s literally in their names. They’re *Paradox* Pokémon, they’re not *meant* to make sense. Scream Tail apparently being billions of years old, Iron Jugulis being an offspring of a Hydreigon and a robot, and Walking Wake being a prehistoric Suicine long before Suicune itself was born during the Burned Tower incident in Johto, to name a few. If we *did* look at the Paradox mons from a logical past/future standpoint, they don’t make sense, and I think that’s the point. Which leads many (including me) to believe it has something to do with the former Professors and the Time Machine at the climax of SV, but I guess we’ll see if the DLC answers anything Great video nonetheless! :> 👍

They're ok but I want their lore actually explained and I don't love some of the designs. Don't get me wrong mecha-tyranitar is a fun mecha-godzilla knock off gimick and I love Scream Tail (even though it's wierd to me they aren't fully evolved) and Great Tusk and the box legends and Iron Valiant and the fact that roaring moon ties genetically somehow to how mega salamence exists. that's neat. But I agree that the dex entries are goofy and all over the place and I don't love that all the future ones are "just a robot" or the fact iron treads is a tire. like just a tire with a robot face. I get future= high tech but even if they wanted to make robots they didn't have to make them 1 for 1 just mech either. that's why even though I hate the design iron treads works cause it's unique same with iron valiant they aren't just a 1 for 1 metallic version. I almost give hariyama a pass for being based on a kickboxing training dummy but like it's still just a metal hariyama

I think the paradox 'mons' entries are meant to give them an air of mystique by giving vague suggestions about them which are just rumours that are very likely not true to imply no one really knows anything about them. It does end up coming off a tad disappointing, not having anything substantial in terms of lore, and just having scraps of bunk, if anything for their dex entries (most of them just all refer to the same magazine and don't say much else).

They also suck on a competitive standpoint. They either walk over you or they're trash. Example: Flutter Mane, Iron Hands, Roaring Moon walk over you, while Scream Tail, Past Volcorona, Iron Treads are kinda trash.

I'd like a return to an old gimmick Pokemon used to do which were good complete games upon release that don't need patches or DLC to feel complete. The designs of Paradox Pokemon are very similar compared to their originals I know it makes sense but it does seem lazy too

I don't mind mythical legendaries being dlc but give us enough story that those feel like additions. This one actually did that narratively (outside of maybe explaining the machine) which is what I wanted since sword and shield fell 100% flat on narrative, but this time they didn't give us a complete functional game. For better or worse (cause some of those glitches can be funny and enjoyable at times) but like I just want a game like rse again. I love special forms and all but i'd rather have a game like r\s\e or the original d\p\p with a decent story and a battle frontier and call it good than a different gimmick every timeif new forms of old pokemon make it easier to fill a dex with some cool designs then awesome I'm all for it I just want a game with the charm the old games had and enough to do after the story to not immidiately put it down. and some of that can come in the form of dlc I don't mind that. Just as long as there's a good complete main story like in these games and something interesting to do in the post game. By that standard these games honestly pretty much would have hit all my baselines if they worked a little less buggy. I want that but like functional so it can be enjoyed lol

Like I think Scarlet and Violet have all the old charms I'm looking for, even with the cool new battle mechanics, they just didn't run well. and they hid the very end of the paradox story behind the paywall instead of making exclusively extra stuff. Like if R\S\E were modern games I'd actually EXPECT deoxys, jirachi, mew, ho-oh, and lugia's events to all be dlc. In D\P\P Shaymin, Darkrai, Arceus? yep dlc I could even see them having Heatran's and Cresselia be part of dlc. But like... it was all supplementary to the full story in the full game that gave us some stuff to do after the main game anyway and some legendaries to hunt ANYWAY without needing special items (Heatran's\ Cresselia's didn't need an event but it isn't in a main story either ) Scarlet and Violet did this with the 4 treasure pokemon in game, but I think I'd rather terapagos have been the post-game story so we got the full picture and then a little side story where we hunt the stakes in a dlc but I'm fine with this being the way it is cause it's the most like the old good games we've had in a while. It was just buggy.

I hate the paradox designs. All of them especially the stupid robots. They're just so unnecessary and making something metallic then calling it a "future evolution" is so dumb.

Glad it's not just me. Felt like something you'd see in an rpg, sure, but I don't think it works for actual pokemon you can catch and train

Paradox and Convergent Pokémon have ruined the series for me. Shit has gotten too fucking gimmicky. And now these useless Pokémon will always be in the Pokédex. It's not like we can get rid of these Pokémon like how we left behind Mega Evolution and Z-Moves. And I hate these names. They're just two words with no stylization to them. Names like "Seel" are far better than these. Because at least what you see is what you get. But this just feels dumb.
