Well yes, the reserve was deployed accidentally, so it is an accident. Luckily it wasn’t a big deal as the paraglider pilot got back to earth safely with his/her passenger.
@@Globaltrends90 most likely scenario is as the pilot was turning around kiting the glider up and in the process of turning around the passenger being nervous and getting pulled a little bit started grabbing at the pilot inadvertently pulling the reserve out of the compartment, then pilot taking off not knowing the reserve had been pulled until others yelled to him to abort after it was too late to abort the launch, then the pilot veered left to try and get to the ground before the reserve inflated which could have been a very dangerous decision, looking like it worked out ok though, being higher for the reserve to deploy and to be able to disable the wing would be ideal but I don’t think he would have gotten that high with the reserve already out of the deployment bag. This situation could be avoided by having the passenger a little more training on not to grab big red handed things during launch lol.
