Paragliding Over Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany

If you're looking for a bit of adventure while traveling the romantic road in Germany why not try paragliding over Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany? I've had paragliding on my bucket list for years now, but I wanted to find the perfect location before committing. When I discovered we could paraglide from the Tegelberg Mountain range in the Alps and glide over Neuschwanstein Castle I was hooked. David and Denis at Fly Royal did an amazing job and we had so much fun! This was definitely a highlight of our Romantic Road journey and I can't recommend it enough. Have you paraglide before? Oh man, this looks like a bucket list item to me! Such amazing footage and the views were incredible. It does not get much better than doing this over the castle as well. It looks like an experience I would be all over! Loved the outfit that got you in too!

So fun! What was your favorite city??? Which route did you take?

@@RadiantRealty we drove the northern part of the romantic road. Form Frankfurt to Rothenburg. Weikersheim and Rothenburg were our Highlights. But we also want to drive the rest of the route down to Füssen - Maybe this Summer! :)

@@Reiseeuphorie Oh nice, we missed Weikersheim. How was that? We absolutely loved Fussen. We stayed in this apartment above an Italian restaurant with an amazing patio overlooking the lake and mountains. Highly recommend it. www.hotel-sanmarco.de

Some pretty epic views on that paragliding. I like the idea of snowboarding then a paraglide! Has given me some food for thought for sure! I am definitely in the air acrobatics gang, that would be fun giving the old stomach a challenge, lol!

I'm jealous!!! I never knew they had that there. We were there in June of 2016. I don't recall seeing any paragliding when we toured the castle. I just remember the uphill walk. That is so brave of you!! Yet it looks absolutely exhilarating!!! Great job!

You guys will just have to go back, haha. We loved Bavaria so returning would be great. I can't believe you didn't see any of the paragliders during your castle visits. Maybe the weather conditions weren't right the day you visited.

We think that might be actually the best way to explore the Neuschwanstein Castle - without all the crowds and hustle. And you have the most amazing bird-eye view!

sooo great views and clear sky. maybe this is the best way to see the Neuschwanstein Castle. I`m from Germany but never visit the castle. you inspire me to do it like you. I was two times parachuting but for viewing the surrounding is paragliding much better I guess.

Thanks Mohammad. Yeah, you are SO right. it's always hard for me to pay the money for these experiences at the time, but paragliding in Germany, our boat tour to Capri, private boat excursion in Bora Bora, food tours in Venice and Amsterdam, and Elephant Sanctuary in South Africa, are the memories we come back to and love the most. Even more than the tourist icons of a place. Highly recommend splurging a bit for these experiences!!!

The views were absolutely beautiful! The mountains, the trees and the snow on top of the mountains in the distance, so gorgeous! Was it tough to get running before you start gliding, it looks like you had a lot of resistance.

Yeah, he actually pulls back on you during takeoff. I don't remember why though. It was absolutely beautiful!

This looks like so much fun and what a beautiful place to do it! Those backpacks you have to wear look huge haha. Useful to hear all of the details about what to wear. The views are incredible, you got such good footage. Did you have another paraglider filming you at the same time? I love that birds eye view of the castle. I did a skydive once, but this looks a lot more relaxing!

Haha, yeah def more relaxing than skydiving. The backpacks are huge but pretty light for the size. Chad had one GoPro with his ride and I had one with mine so kind of. The guides also had very long selfie sticks along for the ride. :)

Wowowow! This is amazing! We have never tried paragliding but if we do it, or if I do it (Giorgio is scared of heights so he won't do it), I want to do it over Neuschwanstein Castle. The footage you have is cool! Beautiful landscape!

Hello from Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🦄🦕 It's funny I had my honeymoon in Garmisch Partenkirchen & didn't get to visit this castle. I had a holiday booked last year to go to Munich & this gorgeous Neuschwanstein Castle.... But was unable to go in the end. Hope to get there eventually!! Would absolutely love to to a paraglide, but didn't really think to do it here for some reason...so glad I came across your videos today. If & when we get back to normality 100% I want to do this. It looks so much fun. Those two gentlemen obviously have lots of experience, & the tips they gave regarding the weather & staying longer in the area is very useful. Do they provide the go pro & film it all for you? Thank you for sharing.

Oh yes, definitely paraglide over the castle. You can pay extra to have them use their gopro and tape it. Highly recommend. Their footage was really good! We loved our stay in Fussen. Highly recommend staying there a few days. We stayed in town at Hotel Sonne (walking distance to all the town sites, but parking was a bit confusing) and then we stayed out of town overlooking a lake and mountains at Hotel San Marco. They have various apartments. Ours had a huge balcony above the Italian restaurant (which was delicious btw) overlooking the lake and mountains. Our fave!!! We booked this one through ID90 Travel. Looks so cold to do paragliding. I'm guessing it is spring time when you went there? And it takes 90-120mins to do it. Wow! I though it would just take like 30mins or so. Lol. I also wanted to paraglide. i bet the adrenaline between skydiving and paragliding are different. The views are amazing up there.

We went in early June. It was a bit overcast the day we went though. Yeah, the 90-120 minute timeframe included gearing up, taking the cable car up to the mountain top, instructions and practice runs off the mountain, and then of course the flight itself.

I did paragliding back in Colombia and had a blast! I'm sure that doing it again in the Barvarian Alps would really wonderful. I'm surprised they put you in so much clothing/gear, If I remember correctly we didn't have that much extra stuff on us except for helmets.

Paragliding is so much fun, you feel like a bird! I've done it once, but did not have your cool factor...this looks amazing! We didn't have time when we had a 24 hour layover in Germany to make it all the way to Neuschwanstein Castle, unfortunately... Neat to know you can do it even in the winter. Do you & your husband want to get certified now? What did your daughters do while you glided?

Yeah, I loved the idea of skiing half a day and paragliding for the other half. What a great day that would be!!! The girls came up to see us take off and rode the cable car down to meet us at the bottom. They had so many great kids activities at the mountain also. An alpine slide, park, ice cream, etc. They enjoyed the fun after we landed!
