Not sure what prompted me to start recording before they came out but i’m glad i did. It took everything in me not start bawling immediately. as someone who has loved paramore all their life, it was an absolute HONOR to witness this; let alone share it with other fans. @@jenniferdejesus4829 Yes. It's a very hard song to sing live. This was the 1st time they ever played it live. I don't see her doing it often because it takes so much to sing live. So this was a shocker and a surprise. She said before she might never perform it live. Then a few years ago she said maybe. Now it happened.
Man, i had a ticket to go see this and a week before I sprained my ankle really bad. Ended missing out. Literally missed the most epic paramormal momment ever.
@@asy11237 basically controlling the vocal chords to exhale less air while singing to better control the vibration in them. That note she's hitting is high and she needs to be careful when belting it out or else she'll fry her vocal chords.
@@GabrielaDiaz-zp3el the vocal technique she uses to get up to those high notes is known as mixing, she is also using a pitch slide to really lean into those high bits and by widening her mouth she is able to make use of extra resonance spaces in the oral cavity to get there. Takes a lot of work and practice to master it but shes hayley freaking williams and she is a gem :)))))))

@@GetAsCloseAsYouCan to be able to do it 14 years later after it was recorded in the same key is an incredible feat even if she struggles a little bit.
And she was afraid of not hitting the high notes.. of course it’s not that easy especially hit that note every night but she killed it! And love it or not but I love the scratchy sound in her voice so she should perform it more often. I don’t say every night but she should believe in herself and her voice❤
@@cristianabalos4480 she said it in a video a few years back, the song requires a lot of range and it’s easy to mess up. She was afraid of messing up and she wouldn’t forgive herself.
She sounds great and I had chills running all over my arms during the whole video but I know how that "scratchy sound" feels in your throath when you're singing so I feel why she never sang it live and I would understand if she didnt do that anymore after this once ♡ she's so great but I'd rather have her protect her vocal chords than hear her sing this live every night
@@xXxRK0xXxyes it was? She has vocal nodes and was scared to sing this because she thought she wouldn’t be able to hit the notes and do it justice, and I imagine this was probably a little painful for her to sing as well
Oh my god! When Hayley hit that high note, I legit got tears in my eyes. After all this years, her voice is as beautiful and powerful as it was back in 2009.
@@scumxix there is a diffrent perspective of this festival it has a bit better audio and u can hear that she does sound like the original in many places
So happy they finally played this song live. she killed those high notes, but yeah if they ever decide to do this song on a regular basis, they’ll need to tune everything down an additional half-step to drop C.
i agree!! no harm in that but i think part of the appeal of the song is hayley hitting those notes. its bc of that tiktok that a sort of resurgence in the song has happened. in c it would be a lot easier for her to pull off tbf and still have a lot of power behind it :)))
Yeah IMO listening to her delivery, she will definitely injure herself before too long if they don't drop it. First verse and chorus are fine but after that you hear it impacting her. It still sounds absolutely beautiful, but not healthy. Would be just as beautiful a little bit lower.

Dude her voice cracking while singing this is sooooo goood i know shes afrisd to sing this song but its so beautiful to me how she strains idk how to explain it and its a little off key but then she hits the final notes perfectly im like on the verge of tears
I never expected them to play that song,but they did! And the fact they played it at When We Were Young makes me feel like they knew what they were doing. All I Wanted was for them to finally play this song live!
all i wanted is a very difficult song to sing in the chorus part Maybe that was one of the reasons why it was not sung before but now she has a more powerful voice than before
All I needed to hear was that first chorus and I knew that waiting all these years was finally worth it. I am incredibly jealous of everyone that got to see it live but I'm also incredibly happy for the fans that have waited for so long for this moment to happen to get to experience it in person
My band played a Paramore cover show back in 2017 and we decided to play this song being that "real" Paramore never had. So so so happy that they finally did!! Such a great song and sounds amazing as expected.
As someone who used to sing (in school, but still) knowing how hard it is to hit these notes consistently, let alone after a month of touring is absolutely insane. GOOSEBUMPS

I've just listened again to this song recently, i found out paramore hadn't performed it live before, then i tried to find all the covers on youtube that sing it live like in the record version, the closest one is from Marcus Bridge. Then today, Paramore finally does it which is absoluely gold and a completion for my searching❤️
