Was just looking at the map, wondering about the massive double-back from Cobar.. Can't believe someone nicked your fuel AFTER surviving Wilcannia.. lol. SO close guys!!! 👍👍👍
Wilcannia turned out to be such a nice place and nothing like described, so glad we ended up there to remind us it’s not always as it seems. Sooo close indeed! Fingers crossed we’ll finish this week. Thanks dude 🤙
Loving your videos and rooting for you to complete your journey safely. Thirteen weeks and both of you are still joking and smiling - no mean feat!! 👊👊👊
Loving this series chaps. Keep up the fantastic effort and you’ll be back in Blighty soon. I look forward to the next episode with a touch of sadness that it’ll be the last. I have to say that the editing and presentation has been top notch throughout, well done!
Fantastic effort guys Flying trikes gliders hang gliders planes 45 yrs and I can imagine how tough that was Bus and trike around Oz 1991 same story people helped us everywhere
Not long to go now, guys!! Nevermind the snakes, is now a good time to remind you about Wolf Creek? 😮🤭 You both make a great team with your skills and determination. Could you imagine doing this with anyone else?
I mixed up the content a little bit and there are clips in episode 8. There’s a recap in this episode but I’ll release more shorts for that section of the journey
So you let it slip about "being down to your last piston" how many did you take ? Tim flew his Moster 185 all the way with no problems , bet you'll be handing those 200s back or just dumping them in the bin with the SKY 150s 🤣
Haha that wasn’t letting slip, we’re hiding nothing on this trip. Twitty changed his carb to the smartcarb with a carb heater. Unfortunately we’ve discovered that the needle isn’t the right shape for the engine so he can’t go full throttle for long at all or it pops the piston. We’re actually very impressed with the polini’s considering we’ve done over 100 hours on them. I just wouldn’t use a smart carb with it
@@rich_dolan I tried to run a Lectron Carb (which uses the same tech) on a Sky 150 with the same issue, after wasting money on multiple needles realised that there wasn't one that suited and you would need to have a custom one made after many hrs of testing etc. I use a go cart "Easy Tune " whilst in flight and there is no guessing there , it can sound good when you tune it by ear or plug chop etc but if you got it right down low it would be wrong up top and vice versa so went back to the flat slide carb which you can tune perfectly , main , needle, low jet and low screw on the side of the carb. the Cosmos has a Tilletson which is a diaphragm carb but talk to the cart guys who use them and all is revealed on how to tune them . I had a chuckle at how generous the locals were but the pricks that stole your fuel were most likely city people traveling , you should have put big yellow "warning radioactive stickers on them " 🤣. Im guessing your finished your trip now and planing to get back home asap so well done and guess you won't be doing the Tasmania to Melb crossing , well not with Polini's anyway
@@peterr1342 yer polini use custom needles in the carbs so it makes sense to stick with their carb, at least for me it does. We’re not finished just yet. Stuck for 8 days due to storms but we’re away again tomorrow so hopefully finish Thursday
@@troyfraser5395 haha thankfully the majority of Aussie people are also super helpful! It’s been a wicked adventure and I’m keen for the next one…after a bit of income 😅
I'm confused... You finished episode 7 at SA/WA border, episode 8 was a recap, this is episode 9 and you're on the border of SA/NSW. What happened to the entirety of your SA crossing??
Wow, you two lads are fantastic. I was riveted to this film, so good I watched it twice. Fantastic flying, mechanics, filming and great with the locals. I will be glad to see you lads finish but sad the films will end. What an excellent adventure, every film brilliant, good luck for the last portion, I look forward to the next episode. Take care, cheers, Chris from the UK. 😉👍👍👍👍👍
