Awesome soliloquy. Awesome adventure. Awesome people. When I was cycling from.UK to Australia it was always the people's generosity to help, to accommodate, to feed, to share their lives that humbled me. Thanks for your awesome videos.
Wow this is so incredibly inspiring! I’ve watch all your episodes through to this point and I’m just amazed at you two fellas achieving this monstrous adventure! This has been may favourite paramotor adventure video series I’ve ever watched(on par with Icarus and adv wingman series) Thanks you for inspiring and show casting what Is actually possible on these incredible little flying machines. 😄🪂👌🏽 P.s I don’t know how a missing this back in 2022?!? I’m sad I didn’t get to witness it live and help support you guys. What’s the next adventure?! 😬
i only want to go to tully from bundaberg and at least we know what to do if certain things go wrong ,,,i wouldn't like to be on a trip and have something go wrong but at the same time not know what to do if that sort of thing happened so thanks ...
Please make a vlog explaining everything for pilots who want to fly xc. Hard ships things to carry anything u think is necessary for this kind of adventure. Thanks in advance.
I backpacked up the east coast of Australia in 1995, Melbourne to Cairns, then across to Ayers Rock, back to Brisbane and down to Melbourne again. Went back to visit the west coast in 2019. Love Australia, but have never seen it from this perspective before. What a journey, what an adventure!! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience, and thanks for sharing it with us. Truly inspirational
Thank you for the kind words. Backpacking that route sounds awesome! It was definitely an adventure and one I won’t be forgetting! Thanks for watching the video, hope I’ve inspired you to do some flying! 😊
Wonderful video! As someone who has been sketching-out ideas for a wing-in-surface-effect craft a bit like Kester's, this is so inspirational. BTW, could you tell me what the music is? It fits perfectly, and I'd like to hear more from the musician.
I'm confused... You finished episode 7 at SA/WA border, episode 8 was a recap, this is episode 9 and you're on the border of SA/NSW. What happened to the entirety of your SA crossing??
Great series of video's & super well done on completing that trip. It is one of those things you will never forget. The speedster3 impressed me You seemed to be pretty comfortable flying it. Did you spend most of the time with just the trimmers open or with bar as well? how heavy are you loading it? I have had the original speedster since they first came out & it has never let me down, Though I have always had some trouble with it in nil wind take off's, although I am foot launch & it is slightly too big for me.
Thank you so much!! Definitely something I’ll never forget and very happy I created the videos on the go. The speedster3 impressed me aswell, a very comfortable wing and I developed more faith in it the more I flew it. mostly trims open and occasionally had bar on. I was heavily loaded on it at about 160kg. The speedster3 is a big difference to the 1 in terms of launch but even better than that is the sirocco3, it’s just the lightweight version of the speedster so it comes up even easier!
@@rich_dolan Thanks for that, What impressed me the most, was your skills with the trikes. I would have never thought you had a show of been able to land & t/o with them in the places you did. For your next big adventure how about recreating Sir Francis Chichester's flight from England to Australia in 1929? The story is well worth a read & It amazes me he did not die doing it.
I assumed the biggest hurdle would have been stamina. I have learned that an adventure like this cannot be done alone. This adventure has also changed the lives of others you encountered along the way.
Hopefully it doesn’t!! The good thing with this manoeuvre is you can build up to it. Going over at 10 o’clock then building up to the top. Of course there’s a risk but I hope it’s managed by each pilot🤞
Hi Rich, are you planning a wrap up of the trip? I’d be keen to hear about flying in the middle of the day, or did you break up the day to avoid the roughest conditions. Cheers, and well done 🎉
Hello Dave 🤙 I was planning to do a wrap up of the trip once we had heard back from Guinness about the record. It’s proving to be a bit more difficult then we first thought so I may do a wrap up sooner. To keep you from waiting we had to land several times during the middle of the day when it was getting a little bit too spicy. Other days we would get above the clouds to avoid the turbulence and quite a few days we had high level clouds that meant it wasn’t so bad and we could fly all day. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the series 😊
unbeleivin F`n amazing. Met you guys in Wee Waa (pronounced like a "small wall" in Scotland - wee woh) amazing what you did, sooo cool, and what an astounding time in Aus to do it, we`ve had such a lot of rain, after 10 years of drought. I think you have seen Australia like its hardly been seen before
We couldn’t believe our terrible luck 🍀 😅 but that’s a good way of looking at it, we’ve seen Aus like so many people haven’t! It was so green! Thanks for the correction on Wee Waa 😅
Hey mate, that would have been an epic trip. How did you go through the day when the air become thermic and rough? That would have been difficult flying long distances in rough air
It was very difficult! We kept changing altitude based on wind strength and conditions. Some days we could get above the cloud to avoid the turbulence, other days we’d have to land because it was starting to get dangerous. We basically took all the windows we could while keeping our safety a priority
Fantastic effort guys Flying trikes gliders hang gliders planes 45 yrs and I can imagine how tough that was Bus and trike around Oz 1991 same story people helped us everywhere
I love the speedster3 and sirocco3. This Speedster 3 is a 24m2 because of the all up weight. I usually fly the 20m Sirocco 3 (lightweight speedster). I think my next wing will be the Viper XC though, it’s crazy efficient and doesn’t oscillate in flight
Hello dude, I record using the GoPro with mic adaptor and overlay the 360clips. You can get an adaptor for the 360 to record via lav mic but it’s a pain running the cable along the pole
I’d love to fly in Brazil! There’s a nice paramotor community in Australia but they’re spread out a bit. Try and find a local school when you get there 😁
It ended up being so lean at top end. The problem was using the smartcarb, the needle didn’t allow enough fuel through at higher rpms. I was on the standard carb and it worked fine 😊
What a great achievement; great effort on so many levels. My mate sent me a link to the final episode as I'm about to start PPG training in Shropshire. I've just binge-watched your mini-series, I'm already planning my cross-Europe trip... LOL. I may have missed it, but did you mention whether you broke (or set?) the World Record? It's fairly academic given the awesome adventure that you've now finished, but a recognised World Record would be a wonderful thing!
Haha glad you got hooked Iain! We’ve submitted everything to the Guinness world records and we’re just waiting for it to be verified but as far as we know we’re the first to do it 😁 Good to hear you’re starting your training and already planning your adventure 🤙🤙
