Actually, It is against the law for law enforcement to use an ultralight aircraft to patrol, pursue or otherwise conduct business in the line of law enforcement. It's in the Federal Arenotics Regulations. I love the FAR.
Back in the late 80's the Sheriff of Towns County, Ga used a paramotor trike for a little while! Rudy was maybe one of the coolest cops I have ever met!
Это какая страна? Ваши полицейские все хорошо относятся к пилотам или только ваши друзья-полицейские? This is what country? Your police all relate well to the pilots or just your COP friends.
FabioPanucci I love smart asses. And do you know the description was there when I watched this video? Nope. You have no idea if it was changed, added, or whatever. Besides - i come to youtube to watch videos - not read descriptions. You read the descriptions and write curt responses and I’ll be watching the next video!
I have a suggestion for the a video, fly to a moving police car, knock on the window and if they roll down the window say '' do you know how to fast you are going
If your in Omaha I'm over in Des Moines but I go to the MWTA trials events in weeping water, if you wanna fly a sweet place go there. There is a winery and an old rock quarry and tons of beautiful landscaping to see. I plan on bringing my motor with me to the next trials event there and get some aerial video of the trials going on
"There is a winery and an old rock quarry and tons of beautiful landscaping to see." That area is my normal stomping grounds haha. I'm always down to fly if you're in Omaha.
They took pictures lol that was awesome!!!! Sucks to say it but here in Kissimmee Florida it's hard to find cops like that.... Lol I probably would've gotten arrested for bringing up FAA RULES LMFAO
Training depends on how quickly you progress, but 7-15 days is what I’ve seen. I recommend having $10,000 before buying into the sport. Or about $6500 between two people if you share the gear.
Question: Had I been flying my drone at this same location at say 150' (well below the 400' max AGL a drone can legally fly) and you come buzzing by and hit my drone, you crash and are seriously injured, who is at fault? FAR 103.13 (a) states - Each person operating an ultralight vehicle shall maintain vigilance so as to see and avoid aircraft and shall yield the right-of-way to all aircraft.
I am seventy years old and fly a Freshbreeze paramotor and I also have two drones. As a drone pilot, you would be at fault (FAR 107 explains it). Actually, it isn't as far fetched as people might think. My DJI Mavic is quite a bit faster than my paramotor. You can fly your drone easily out of your sight and the camera is awesome but you could hit something like that before you realize you are on top of it. I think the only way it would happen is if you were trying to film a paraglider and just got too close. You can almost bet that within a year or two, there will be a video on RU-vid of just that. Ha!
Mark Barrentine the drone pilot would be at fault. Us drone pilots have to give right of way to any manned aircraft even if they fall under FAR part 103 they are still manned and a drone pilot needs to just get out of the way lol I want to get into paramotors next year it currently fly a Yuneec typhoon H pro drone and if I hear an aircraft coming I bring her down low until I can see wether or not it's a high flying Cessna or piper or a low flying ultralight and even if they are well over 1,000 feet I just bring it down below 200 or so till they pass. It's far easier for us to see them than for them to see our relatively small drones so it's our responsibility to steer clear because if we collide with them all we lose is a 1500$ drone lol they have their life on the line up there and what's more valuable
Cops were great! They could have looked at it as intimidating but probably knew they could knock you out of the air if they had to. Glad you stopped to chat... the pics should be posted all and all great video thanks for sharing.
Where is this? I live in Papillion and don't recognize any of it. I also used to fly PPG. Unfortunately GOPro's hadn't come out yet, so my helmet cam footage isn't as good as this. Also, do you know JD Rexroad?
I sold my PPG after breaking my back and ankle in a dumb towing accident, but I see guys flying at the FOD still and stop by once in a while. Stay safe!!!
My neighbor has flown his ppg down along the hwy and buzzed a local cop giving a speeding ticket lol...he almost walked across the top of his cop car. Yes...he knew him well before hand.
Correct but they DO have jurisdiction over the places you take off and land from (if not an airport) and they certainly DO have jurisdiction when/if you create a hazard to those on the ground.....Like on a public road. That said, he knew them and it was all in the family so to speak. No harm no foul. Way off in a park, no public etc.
Oh dude... you have no idea, the cops in this area know what's up :D If you see em, their worth making friends with so they know how do deal with "suspicious calls" if you concern the locals. Even cooler if they decide to train and fly with you.
What a bunch of ignorant comments. So many police officers fly PPG. They were there to check out an exiting sport that's all. Stop spreading cop hate. I have flown with many of our LE Brothers. Nice video keep it up.
