Two comments. I have owned and ran Kubota tractors for 16 years for home use. 72 acres. They have been outstanding. Im a Kubota believer. As for the Pirannah bar. Like the guy said, its worth every penny. I have put mine through the test. A lot of my property is pretty rocky. I was afraid I would demolish it when I bought it. It is super tough. Ive dug a lot with mine in rocky ground. Ive worn it some, but its still really great condition for what I have put it through. And, I think it makes it a lot easier on your tractor. Its hard to do anything with that plain bucket edge. I would buy another tomorrow if I needed to. Buy it, you wont regret it.

Ive had mine for ~5 years, love it. It digs better than a smooth bucket obviously, especially since my land is mostly packed sand and gravel, and it completely obliterates brush and scrub which is mostly what I got it for. I have a little bigger Kubota, and the bolt had to go through the reinforced part of the bucket. Turned out a friend had a magnetic drill press which we drilled it with, or I'd still be there today with a subscription to drill bits trying to make the holes. Only complaint I have is that if you want to use clamp-on bucket accessories, like hitch receiver or pallet forks, you have to remove the Piranha. It doesnt really matter how much you tighten the bolts because theyre only there to keep the toothbar from falling off when you backdrag or dump. The pushing is provided by the bucket itself inside the groove of the toothbar.

Playing with big toys gets real easy to get carried away. The bigger the toy the more fun it is. I used to get so carried away with my dozer, when clearing our land, that it would be dark before I stopped. I could barely see my way to my truck. Good Luck, Rick

Love that video and the bar. I have one and just as an FYI, it’s a good idea to slam the bar with a piece of wood against the front of the bar and a sledge when initially fitting and mounting. I got mine to move an additional 1/2” tighter onto the edge of the bucket which will improve the overall rigidity.

We bought a L 2800 in 2004 and a toothbar. The teeth were pinned to the bucket and they eventually all broke off, The new ones were cheap then at like $4 each and the dealer said weld them on. The toothbar is one of the best implements u can get. Rock popping Tree roots,small trees. ,digging. Well worth the $$. The holes in the side were like yours .Edge stuff can vary on the bucket. My forks had to be altered to fit my bucket. When you dig go high on the bank and then work down,not from the bottom up.Less strain on the tractor.

I got the Reversible Cutting Edge from BX Attachments. Bolts on using the existing holes in the bucket, no additional drilling required. Simply remove all but the middle bolt and spin the cutting edge around to the other side. Has a smooth side for leveling and snow removal tasks, and the other side is a toothed cutting edge...Looked at the piranha tooth bar and didn't like that you had to drill holes to mount it....I like the 2 cutting edge options on 1 bar so I went with the one from BX Attachments. I've seen a lot of videos on the Piranha bar too either option is better than destroying the factory edge on the bucket and rendering your bucket unusable, especially in heavy digging and rocky applications.

It really doesn’t make that much difference. The pressure in breaking out the material is great inside & outside of the bucket. These cutting edges are expendable and usually are welded on and cut off. Edging, to clean up your work surface, will wear out the cutting edges, and the bucket, itself. Use it, & lose it. Been wearing them out for over 50 years, on loaders, dozers, and excavators. They all fail from use. Enjoy and good luck!

“ A number of years ago a woman by the name of Ann came to a seminar. She was a beautiful actress. Ann told me of a time that she and three of her girlfriends went to try out for a stage play. She got the leading role in the play and her friends, unfortunately, did not even get in the supporting cast. She worked very hard on her lines over the coming months. On opening night she was so excited! However, none of her girlfriends showed up to support her. She was devastated… They were good friends she thought. Ann was in the habit of talking to an older friend of her dad who was a mentor to her. His name was Hap. She phoned Hap and he listened to her story of what transpired. He said, “I am going to send you a letter and I want you to read it and I want you to remember it.” Here is the letter that he sent her: Dear Ann, Once upon a time, there was a fellow by the name of Al Capp who wrote a comic strip called “L’ll Abner”. Many years ago he had some characters in his strip who lived in a town near Dogpatch. They were the town bums, the n’er do wells, the failures whose whole aim in life was to pass judgment on others. Their criticism and ridicule became so vehement that in time the rest of the people in the town became acutely conscious of it. “The boys down at the stable”, as they were called because that’s where they spent most of their time, soon set the social standards of the town. Nobody could do anything without their sanction. Because they lived within the structure of their crummy little worlds, they would laugh and point their fingers at anyone and everyone who tried to be better than he was. As a result, the people feared the ridicule of the boys down at the stable so much that they stopped trying. Soon everybody became bums and the town died. In every social structure, Ann, whether it be family, town, county, or state, there are “the boys down at the stable”. They are the jealous ones. They are too scared to try something different. They show their ignorance by laughing at those who do. Learn to recognize them, Ann, for what they are. Don’t let them hurt you. It takes a certain amount of toughness to succeed. One has to rise above those who would tear you down so that they can laugh and say, “I told you so!”. There are too many of us who love you and want you to make it. I could put myself at the top of the list. You aren’t going to fall flat on your face as they would have you. You are going to do a superb job. Remember this show is only a small step in the direction of greater things you will do, many of which are beyond your wildest dreams. All you have to do is want to. One of the things I like about you best is that you always give it hell for a try. The show will be a success because of you and others like you who try. There are only winners in the cast. The losers are gathered down at the stable laughing and hoping for your failure. If we could dig down deep inside them, I’m sure we’d find they want to win also but are too scared to try, and they attempt to cover up their own failures as human beings by laughing at others. In a sense, I’m sorry for them. Their guilt must make them very unhappy people. Much love, and give ‘em hell, Hap The next time you step out to chase your dreams and someone laughs at you remember this wonderful note above. You are capable of achieving anything you desire. To your success, Bob Proctor”

It might be a bit late to mention this, but even though that bar is made of a material that is allegedly better than AR500, that's still a wear item, and I usually tell friends looking at getting one to consider getting a style of bar that has replaceable teeth. I'd say the same thing, even if it was made of Hardox. For future reference. Also for future reference... Kubota is actually a pretty good tractor, and a good value. At least up until Tier-IV. I am less impressed with the stuff coming out from the mid-teens forward. That said, a BX is kind of a light tractor for that work. I'd want a minimum of a 3100 or 3500 Grand L series. A 4070 would be a great choice for that, especially if you pick up pre-owned one that was well maintained, but from the 2000's, though maybe the mid-teens. I have a friend who bought some of my stuff when I closed my business, and he has an MX series that he really likes. I gotta admit, if I were going to get a "Last Tractor" for general property work, I'd likely go for an MX5,200 or a Grand L60. 4wd of course. I sold a Grand L 3560 a few years ago, and that was a pretty good tractor for it's purpose. Didn't like the regen nonsense, or HST transmission. I like the GST much more. Anyway... Good luck with the clearing.

The great thing about the Pirahna Bar that you can't get with a standard "tooth bar" is that when you do want to back drag or compact the ground with the Pirahna Bar you just level the bucket and it will be flat. A tooth bar leaves groves unless you really run the back part of the bucket in reverse which I would never recommend. Digs great, rips sapling trees out with ease, back drag with some angle and it rakes, level the bucket and go backwards and it compacts ... all while providing a wear bar for your bucket.

I bought the piranha tooth bar for my Kioti tractor. I wore it out in 4 hours scraping packed snow from a parking lot. It’s great if you are digging in soft pack dirt but don’t use it for anything on pavement or concrete. Very soft metal, not even case hardened.
@TsunauticusIV

You can destroy hard cutting edges very quickly by misusing them too on concrete and asphalt. Ask me how I know. 😂
@rodm5830
@rodm5830 3 года назад
@@TsunauticusIV That’s true. I had spoken with a rep before I bought the tooth bar to explain what I wanted it for. He told me it would work good for that. It did work good, for about an hour. I don’t regret buying it. It still works good for digging. I use case hardened blades on my truck plow. They last for several years with heavy use. I guess I was hoping for the same quality from the tooth bar.

It has nothing to do with we don't like your music. Would you like to watch a football game with the announcer muted while you listen to a sound track from a Martha Stewart cooking show? Of course not. Does that mean you hate cooking? Of course not. So, what is the solution, WE MOVE ON WITHOUT LOOKING BACK. That is why you have 132,000 views but only 400 subscribers. Use a cutting oil when drilling metal. The bits last longer and cut better. Chainsaw bar oil works... or any other similar oil... if you do not have "real" cutting oil intended for drilling metal.

2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen (water) is best for drilling, as a coolant. Oil should be used for cutting threads and broaching as a lubricant. Your lungs will thank you later

That is the issue I had with my Kubota also they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it I am a diesel mechanic for a living I know that that was blow-by pressure internal crankcase pressure pushing the oil out like that. Tell the way I picked my problem was I sold that one and went and bought me a Kioti cs2210 which I seem to like a lot better than I like the Kubota at least the dealer will fix problems with it not that I have had any which I have knocked but they seem to be more supportive

Your first mistake when you drilled them holes in the side of your bucket was that you use the regular steel bit you need to use a cone bit it looks like an ice cream cone not a steel bit back to the video whenever you’re digging with a small compact tractor such as a 2380 or 2360 you always without a doubt wanna be in turtle gear and you wanna be in four-wheel-drive for the best results when digging just thought you’d like to know the machine is remarkable for the price of ityou take care of it and it’ll take care of you abuse, it it will do nothing
