Ok just saw it for the first time and wow, this WAS a great movie. I'm glad people are making more good animovies like this.

Dude, Paranorman is 12/10. Much better than any stop-motion film I've ever seen.

Why everytime i watch ParaNorman. It makes me want to watch Monster House. Chris check it Monster House if you havent already.

shame, there aren't many good Animated movies this year, paranorman may well be the best. Especially since it's main competition so far is Ice Age 4, LOL Really good movie, not my type of movie but i respect it as a quality film.

Haha, I'm literally 01:05:43 into watching Caroline for the first time. I just watched ParaNorman the other day (I rent it from BlockBuster, still thriving in my country) and I loved it. I loved the synth music and the animation, and it was really funny too, with a lot of great wit and references. I for one thought it was incredibly fast-paced the who film. I'd give it a solid 8/10 but I do prefer Frankenweenie a bit (9/10).

I also loved this movie, and would not mind watching it again. The ending just blew me away, with that Death Is the Road to Awe-ish score and the morality of the characters' actions.

B+ the drama is the best of the movie

I saw this movie and I thought it was really good, but I think Coraline was better in story (I think personally) but definitely ParaNorman stepped up it's animation and some creepy parts. I loved the adult humor all the kids where SO confused haha! my favorite line is "You cannot shoot a civilian...Only the police can do that!"

I went semi blind with cabin in the woods and loved it. And you and me both giving so much respect to stop motion animation. It such a dying art but when its done it can be creepy, hilarious, and down right amazing. Teetering on seeing this or Expendables 2.

This was a very pleasant surprise. I laughed a lot, it was sweet, had good timing and great animation. Yes, the art is extremely odd but it's sort of endearing. The 3D wasn't used tons, but when it was it was well done, although it still didn't change my experience or anything. Anyways, the voice work was great, and could see myself going to see this again. 8.5/10, B, one thumb up, above average, etc.

I love this movie!! I had to watch it a second time to truly finally enjoy it! Now it's one of my favorites!

cont.) I want to go into Man of Steel blind because tbh, the teaser trailer (both versions with Jor-El and Jonathan Kent) were enough to get me excited. I'm incredibly pumped for Man of Steel either way, and I want to be completely blown away going into that movie if it really ends up being great. So as hard as it'll be, I'm going to work to avoid reading any news on it and watching any new trailers.

I remember months and months ago when I first saw a trailer for Paranorman. I was SO creeped out and disturbed that I am not going near the movie, and I had no idea that it was a family movie. But even though I'm not going to see it, I still wanted to see your review.

This has been a great year for animation with two animated movies guaranteed to be in my top 10 of 2012. Paranorman looks pretty good, but I think it should've been released closer to Halloween (if it wasn't for Frankenweenie taking October)

So wait a minute, is Ben-Hur artless? that was a remake. Oh, and please if someone never saw "let the right one in" they wouldn't catch the idea of the relationship the girl and her adult friend had until they exposed it. Also, just because the film doesn't take time to bullshit in details of her being "not normal" doesn't mean the story doesn't carry heavy suspense and tension as you try to figure out how the boy's going to deal with the knowledge that he has of his vampire neighbor

I went to see it at the weekend and for what it is, I found it sorta underwhelming. I'm not hating on this movie or anything,I found the last 30 minutes to be fantastic and I love how they stick with the 3 main horror colours: purple, green and yellow. But I couldn't help but feel that after all I've seen in the adverts, what I was getting wasn't that overwhelming.

I loved ParaNorman.... but Cabin in the Woods is the biggest surprise of the year! Didn't expect to be anything close to what it was.

Forget it I'm going to ask, What is the movie poster under Jaws???

I also went to 2 movies blind with Real Steel and The Hunger Games and those movies were both really awesome and blew me away. I also like stop motion animations, like Coroline and my favourite of them all, Fantastic Mr.Fox. So I might go see this movie.

@ChrisStuckmann People don't seem to acknowledge that Tim Burton only wrote Nightmare before christmas and that the Director of Paranorman and Coraline also directed NBC. That's pretty big and no one mentions that. It's irritating.

Went movie shopping with my GF and our son. As I was watching it I was worried it'll be too scary for our 3 year old Leo. He loved it, after the credits rolled he said 'again'. I was geeking out laughing at all the 80's horror jokes. Now Leo is a very special boy and I wouldn't show this to any other 3 year old that doesn't love all things Halloween. I'm pretty sure he's going to be a horror movie buff before he can get himself in to an R movie.

I liked Paranorman. I agree it does slow down, BIG TIME, but thankfully it picked back up. And yeah I was surprised to see some of the stuff in Paranorman since it's a family film. They were really pushing it! It could have been pg-13

I heard Kody-Smit-McPhee and Chloe Moretz were going to star in The Wilderness of James but due to Kick-Ass 2 Chloe had to drop out.

I loved this movie too! There was so much that they did in this movie that made me respect it more and more. I also loved the villain, she was really freaky, especially for a PG movie.

Ummm... did they really get away with all that adult humor? Chris was absolutely right, I remember seeing this movie in theaters as a kid and being incredibly confused. The ending was so good though, I can still remember it very vividly.

I want to see this movie now. btw (even though I obviously didn't do it with this movie, haha), I've lately been practicing not reading or watching any reviews before seeing a movie. I did it with Brave, Amazing Spider-Man, TDKR, and The Bourne Legacy, and it's helped my viewing for all of those. I've been considering doing this with trailers now, too (I haven't watched the latest Skyfall trailer). Also, I plan on avoiding the next trailer for Man of Steel.

I loved that movie and I'm not sure why. it's just so bizarre and not my kind of style but I always keep finding myself wanting to watch that movie at least once a month, I can't get away from it lol. I knew this movie was by the creators of Coraline and I knew this had to be good. I'm just too busy and poor right now to go see it.

this movie kinda dissapointed me because of all the jokes that felt really forced, but the scene with the "witch" is one of the most beautiful things i've seen this year, also i wanted the zombiesto be alot scarier, but they ar just some childish comedy reliefs :/

I really thought that Paranorman was unique too, however, when you think about it, it owes a lot to "The Sixth Sense."

Good movie. I played it.for.the kids at my job and they loved it. Of course I paused and skipped certain scenes.

Yeah, I personally think this is an movie that by no means is a all ages sort of animated film. I went into this my first screening in the theatre and some poor kids literally got scared to the point they had to leave the theatre course these children I'm speaking of were five and under so yeah.

I don't know about you guys...but as much as I respect stop motion animation and as much as I admit that it's hard as balls to produce...I can't stomach it, it's like if I automatically reject it whenever I see stop motion animation T_T

So, you're calling me names, because I disagree with your subjectivity? It's artless, because this has already been done. The only difference is that it's dumbed-down and copied. Carrying accents throughout an entire film isn't that impressive. It's far more impressive to have the better overall performances, such as the child actors did in Let the Right One In. Let Me In explained everything in about the first 10 minutes, because God forbid we have to actually follow a story throughout.

Saw it and Frankenweenie today. Frankenweenie was, to me, the better film. I found most of the characters unlikable, Mitch's revelation in the end should've been in the middle to allow for proper character development, the whole thing was a complete mess. And, the unlikable character bit? I have a personal issue with Perry Babcock, as he reminded me of my mother's boyfriend. It's been ten years since I last saw him, and I still wish him to suffer. My grade: D-
