Being a Home Health Nurse, I want to thank you for addressing life and the issues you face with confidence and courage. You have given my patients who are both new and old spinal cord injury patients, hope, peace, and the courage to find out what does work in their lives instead of just seeing only what does not work. Keep up the great work and may you and your family have a wonderful year. Know that you do make a difference in many peoples lives who have perhaps lost hope. Thank you again, and may God bless you and your family.
You are an absolute inspiration to those who have lost or have limited mobility through any cause, be it by birth, suddenly in an accident, or by disease. They are upbeat, to the point and delivered in a calm and straight forward manner. You’d make a great teacher!
Congrats Brian on your new baby. You’re always an inspiration. Your video with menox hand controls got me into driving 5 years ago. Good to see your new videos with the family. Cheers from Lebanon.
Dude, I totally could have used this for my daughter. She's 13 months now and took her first steps this week. I have you and your videos in-part to thank for her being here, so thank you. I'm stoked to see you're also a father!
Hi, Enjoy watching your videos. Gives others inspiration. Your daughter is an adorable little Angel. Many blessings to you and your family. You are defenetly the true meaning of a "Daddy". Thanks for sharing. 👼👼👏👏👍👍🍼🍼🍼
Adapt.ability.. !!! So cool...! Nice to see this new 'beung a daddy" chaoter un your life! 👍 Prooving once again that you can do Anything! Lots of respect & admiration to you Brian..! My wheelchair Hero Man..!#! You Go Daddy..!!! 👍👍
My wife and I are about to have our first child in July. I am a T3 paraplegic and am having a hard time finding items that will help me prepare for raising a child when the child and I are alone together. Will you please post videos like what stroller you are using, how you transfer the baby into the crib, and how you transfer the baby into the car. Your videos are so helpful!
This is a great idea. I love your videos I am sure you get a bunch of ignorant (as in lacking knowledge) on all of your videos. But for people who are newly paralyzed seeing you do all the same things and haven kids. Brings hope I am sure. Alot of people believe that ppl who r paralyzed can not have babies. But u just adapt. One of my best friends is paralyzed complete split and he ended up with a mrsa bed sore so they removed all the muscles from his back side. It is crazy to see the things he does. I sure had no idea when I 1st met him.
Yessss! I took a shopping gag from lkea in blue! Yours is squared and better! I used a basket for my washing things , too, it's of plastic so l did a matt for nappychanging inside.
So happy for your family! You are a can-do guy, and I have learned a lot from you--thanks. I'm past baby carrying, just not stable enough. But the boppy might just make holding a baby possible for me. Ellie has a great papa! I have to laugh at how differently a man handles a baby than a woman...
💜 Hey, there Superdad Happy New Year to you and your wonderful family. Wow, you have strong arms and hands. The way you put your daughter into that carry basinet and transfer her to the sofa shows how strong you are. Good job dad you are good dad for taking care of your beautiful baby girl. Glad your sister found that carry basinet. Thanks for sharing your parenting skills...you are an inspiration to other dads. Take care and God bless.👍☺☺💜💛💜👼👼🍼🍼👾
Great idea Brian! I've recently been thinking about making a blanket/mat with handles to do the same thing (been using just a towel). Didn't think about a basket.
Brad Stubblefield kid co makes a swing with handles. That could make it easier to lift your child off and on different surfaces. It’s on Amazon. KidCo Swingpod Infant Portable Swaddle Swing, Gray www.amazon.com/dp/B01M16UV8S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6YTmCbD9BTZ8C
I would love to see move videos around how you help parent. My husband and I are going to start IVF in the fall and he is so worried about how he can help. Would love more information!
She's getting so big! You'll have to put her sideways on the boppy soon because her head's about to hang off the end. I have two baskets like that and they are so useful. I got them free from someone who was cleaning out her parents' house and was going to throw them away.
Hi Brian! Do you have any issues with nerve pain? if yes, could you make a video on pain management? Love your videos bud, broke my back this past summer, T1 like you. You're the man, keep crushing it!
Hey Brian just saw ur video on how u became paralyzed. I am the mom of my paralyzed son, 33 yrs old, T5. He was also on a motorcycle, a grome riding on surface street w his work buddy. Someone cut him off, he panicked, hit the brakes, but instead of laying bike down, hung on, it flipped him up in the air, & he landed on his head had a good helmet, but it crushed his spine T5 level. He only was unconscious for few seconds, knew he couldn't move his legs. Had fractured rib, sternum, & left foot very badly fractured. This happened June 16, 2018. He hasn't taken it well, but is being as independent as he can. He is still using a transfer board. He has to have a brace on his foot for any standing because it's not stable. He has a little TBI short term memory loss. I have a friend who has a T4 SCI for over 40 yrs now, I learned a lot from him yrs before this happened to my son. It helped me to understand & especially for a man how hard it is. I hope my son will watch ur videos. Thank u for doing this. If anyone is in Southern CA there is a group called Triumph, founder is quad & they help people w items they need, have fund raisers & activities. They're on FB. Andrew Skinner is his name for anyone who needs a group support.
WHEN MT BABIES WERE SMALLER ( PRE SITTING ), I WOULD PICK THEM UP FROM THE FLOOR LIKE A HANDBAG, WHILE I WAS IN MY CHAIR, IT WAS REALLY SAFE AND MY BABIES LOVED IT.
I'm same level and this is a good idea I did kinda the same thing but a boppy pillow that has traps that clip was my best friend. That's how I carried her around and still use it and shes almost 2
Hi Brian, i really miss you. You upload a lot less than i used to from you. Thats so pity. I can imagine that you are so in love with your baby girl that you compleet forget about us. So i hope soon hear from you again. Because i always loved your videoka. Love sabrina
I'm not sure if it's been asked, but have you used a baby carrier at all? I'm not sure if that would be something that works for you specifically. I'm in a wheelchair as well and Babywearing has saved my motherhood for me! If you've tried it, I'd love to hear which carriers and styles of carriers work or don't work for you. Keep on being amazing! ❤️
Sua lesão é mais alta que a minha, mas eu não faço metade das coisas que você faz. Eu não tenho equilibrio de tronco. A minha foi na vertebra T3 ------------------------------------------ Your injury is higher than mine, but I do not do half the things you do. I have no trunk balance. Mine was in the vertebra T3
Congratulations on the baby. I am in a wheelchair and 12 weeks pregnant so these videos are really helpful. Have you found any solutions to car seats that are too heavy to carry or something to carry the baby while out shopping? Thank you 🙂
Yes! I made attachments for a stroller that allow the baby car carrier click onto the chair just above my lap. It’s been working great! I will post that vid soon.
I'm also a para with a 21 month old. For the car seat, I used the orbit baby. It swivels out, which makes it put the baby in and out. Sadly, it's no longer made, but people sell them online. A lot of disabled parents use baby carriers. It makes it easy to take the baby out since he/she is attached to you. The wheelchair mommy mommy group on Facebook is a group for disabled moms. I found some great resources on there. Congrats on your baby!
@@ParalyzedLiving Hi Brian, how are you doing? Congratulations on the baby. Have you found any solutions to car seats that are too heavy to carry or something to carry the baby while out shopping? These videos are really helpful. Kind regards, from, PaulLaw.

Well I just found out it’s harder to message people on RU-vid now lol but this is a bit off topic but I wanted to know you opinion on something. If anyone that reads this can give me some insight I’d appreciate it. This summer I wanna try to go to the beach but idk how I feel about trying to walk especially in the sand. I’m a paraplegic from the waist down so should I wear sandals to protect my skin from further damage or just go barefoot? Btw my feet flop when I walk
@@ParalyzedLiving Hi Brian, how are you doing? Her foot scared me the way it was looking all twisted…but then I realised her shoe was coming off. Kind regards, from, PaulLaw.
