I own the JC - 1 A- 21 along with the A - 21+ IMO I think the A-21 & A- 21+ sound as good as the mono Blocks using the parasound JC - 2 preamp. The mono blocks uses the option of bias settings 10 watts rms and 20 watts rms pure class - a - then from there the amp remains is a - b operation. The overall experience in performance is the winner imo is the A - 21 + has more cleaner sound.
I use the JC-1’s! My spks are powered by and I’m getting 800 watts into My spks which have 32 3 1/2 inch mids and 12 2 inch teeets with a Super Tweeter! Great sound! Parasound told me when I was looking for Parasound amps, since my spks are powered, go with the JC-1’s! Great performance! 14:42
Since you don't know how many class A watts the JC1s have, you might want to check the switch on the back (10 watts or 25 watts class A bias). I tried the 10 watt setting and switched it right back to 25 watts.
The original JC1 monoblocks provides hi-end sound, I found it very similar to the Gryphon Antileon Evo amplifier, and for much less money (yes, it was also a surprise for me, but it is true). Nevertheless, it is very important to pair them with a silent preamp and very good speakers to really take advantage of their capabilities (KEF Reference 5 for example). I found the new JC1+ slightly better in terms of specs, but I found no difference in sound at all. Parasound might have developed the new ones just to update the JC line and/or for marketing reasons. You got a treasure, congratulations.
Thank for you’re insight. You actually answered some wonders I had concerning the jc1+. I have since paired them with the parasound p6 and the new paradigm founder 100f’s and it’s a match made for n heaven. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@Audiolympian Great for you!. Some friends of mine believe the JC1+ has a little more deep in music, but I did not notice it. What I did notice is a substancial increase in price on the plus version, so I decided to keep the JC1 even though I could afford the new ones at that time. I paired them with JC2 and this setup is my own personal audio nirvana, much better than my hi end Octave V80SE I use at my room. I think JC1 are still a very capable monoblocks for music and a jewel beyond its price point.
@@aficionadohiend totally agree. These amps give a whole new life to all my speaker even my budget or entry level speakers. I love swapping between my paradigms and my Goldenear references. And I can listen for hours.
Haha. I know what you mean man. I was having so many issues recording this video. From my camera to lights, mic. And being at the time my kids weren’t in school yet so time was limited. However appreciate your feedback. Kids are in school now and the next videos will be better. As always thanks for watching 👍
From what I’ve heard about that preamp I do think they would pair together well. My only concern with it would be that a smaller preamp might fatigue with long time usage which could add some sloppy sound. But I’m talking about 2-3 hours. If you don’t listen for that amount of time you should be ok. The good thing with Parasound amps is that they do their jobs so well that any preamps won’t have to strain at all for signal passing. I used mine with 3 different preamps and a receiver and truthfully they all sound good. They did sound different but nothing was terrible. Hope that helps. Thanks for asking and watching
