Netflix's Parasyte: The Grey (2024) is a live action South Korean spin-off of the Parasyte anime/manga series and it's filled with ethical and morally grey concepts.

Huge fan of the manga and anime. The ending was open ended, leaving hope for a season 2. I really enjoyed this spinoff. I was wondering why they didn;t re-cast Shota Sometani, who portrayed Shinichi Izumi in the live action movies, and I realized that they aged him for his cameo appearance for The Grey. I hope they bring back Masaki Suda if they end up doing a season 2. Eagerly awaiting Sweet Home season 3.

Yeah, Shinichi was in high school in the original work, and when he showed up in The Grey, he is already in his 30's.

Ohh, as a Korean, I can't move on to the next video without leaving my first comment on yours! I actually didn't watch Parasyte at all, but I've heard a fair share of compliments about the show here and there. Overall, it seems like the director made great adaptations from the original. That's one of the huge successes cause the director had been criticized due to his mediocre works after his best, "Train to Busan". Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the show! (btw I've been studying English by watching your videos since I was obsessed with DUNE part 2 lol thanks a lot☺)

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment 😊 At first, I didn't know the director of this show also made "Train to Busan" and "Hellbound", but after I found out, it made sense why the feeling is so similar to both of those. And ah, studying languages is always challenging. I actually tried learning Korean in college many years ago, but gave up after one semester and forgot everything LOL. Good luck with your studies! I'm glad my videos are being helpful in ways I didn't expect ☺️

Jess congrats on 1K! Monetize that sh__ 😄 This was such a guilty pleasure for me, laughed so hard when they flinging heads around to fight, I wanna see the bts without CGI🤣🤣it was a really fun watch but can't think too hard. 5:17 yeah that was such a "bruh" moment, our friends in the watch party were like "WAAHHT?" it was too predictable that our fav uncle had to die, but the way he was just killed off was kinda.. disrespectful? if the parasite could just detach whenever it diminishes the significance/dynamics of the parasitic relationship.. I made myself feel better tho by saying "at least I still get to watch that same actor" lol, instead of him straight up 领饭盒 & disappearing also hhey I actually recommended this lol, not saying it caused you to review it buuuuut... wanna give the last one left on the list (that I've mentioned) a try? 😄The Pig, the Snake & The Pigeon, a pretty well-made Taiwanese film, but i REALLY think you'll have a REALLY iNtErEsTiNg experience watching it, shouldn't regret it.. I think? It's really unique and sth that you WON'T FORGET after watching I promise 🤣my master plan on your channel is to build up a reputation that my movie recommendations are 👌🏻QUALITY 👌🏻picks trustworthy for you to try (then recommend a really crappy wtf movie for April fools) Edit: if no one watches the video cuz the movie's not very well known, I will put the video on loop & personally contribute 10 views ok 🥺

Thanks! Yay monetization and the probably $5/month I'll be getting LOL. Hahahaha omg the second half of that second paragraph is making me laugh so hard 🤣 🤣 But yea, I will admit you recommending this show had at least a 50% contribution to my decision to watch and review it. That Taiwanese movie is somewhere on my list as well 😌 I'm super curious about it now that you've hyped it up hehe

I'll need to watch the Anime sometime! I heard it goes even deeper into the philosophical/morally grey concepts, and I really enjoyed that aspect of this. This K-drama spin-off had a similar vibe to Train to Busan/Hellbound since it was by the same director.
