We don't 😅 laundry is on the floor most of the time and dishes only get done cuz i pump- need a clean sink to wash those parts. The rest of the kitchen and the rr are forsaken though lol send help 😭
I didn’t realize you were living with Royces family. Is this something you decided at the beginning of quarantine? Maybe this was mentioned in another video i missed. Is that hard on your relationship together as adults?

It’s tough knowing when it’s “safe”. You think to yourself, I’m in quarantine and so are they so it must be safe! I can tell you that was my thought and I naively visited family and got the virus. No one else I was around had/has it (that they know of) and no one had symptoms but I tested positive. Granted my symptoms were manageable but I have a 2 year old that had to get tested because I had exposed her. Thank goodness she was negative but this virus is no joke! Continue to keep yourselves and family healthy!! Love you guys!!!
It’s interesting to see how other people are existing through covid. My husband is an essential worker so our lives didnt change much since he continued to work (which I am so thankful for), we kept to ourselves for a while and then decided we wanted to live while we were alive. We see friends and family often, we go out to eat, we shop, etc. none of us have been sick nor do we know anyone who has been sick.
Guys, you gave no idea how much this resonates with us! Everything, literally everything you're saying has been true for us. My little boy was born at home during lock down and he's now 2 months old and we're still in lock down in South Africa.
6 months pregnant here! Living in Sacramento area and all my friends and family live in Washington State and Oregon :( This is also our first baby and probably our last, I'm 37, 38 in November. But it's been hard just being home with no family to visit and no intention other than my husband and work. I'm a Pro Nanny, so I'm ready to be a mom. But it's hard we won't get to tour our hospital, or go to any birthing classes. So everything online and books! I'm really glad I found your Page it put a lot of things into perspective for me and you're entertaining to watch 😁 And you're baby boy is adorable! I'm having a boy too and can't wait to meet him! Actually agree with you on the whole excuse for people not coming so often because of CoVid-19. But now with all the smoke from fires it's adding that extra weight to the situation.
I've been following RnBFam for months because I'm pregnant with my best friend husband, I'm also a Millennial, and I'm having a boy and it was only yesterday that I found out (from watching older uploads) that the reason Royce's dad is busy with work was because his dad is Sinbad. I was gonna say! You remind me of Sinbad and lo and behold lol I hope your dad is doing well, I heard about the stroke and I'm hoping he's better. I'm glad he got to spend time with his grandson this year 💙 also Royce you are the creator of Legend of Althea? What an awesome comic! I recommend people check it out! It's so good. What I do with being in quarantine is that I stay at home, double mask and sometimes face shield when I go to doctors appts (but my ears are tiny so I can't double mask with a face shield, just single mask). I have not purchased a diaper bag but I have a caddy for around the house. I work at home and my hubby was working outside of the house but he quit to stay at home and care for me (which we can afford on my income). Grandmas want to see the baby but my mom I don't trust bc I've seen her a few times without a mask so idk what to tell her but my spouse's mom got the vaccine and she socially distances on her farm and wears a mask. This is our first kid and we are both 29 going to turn 30 this year (we have been best friends since middle school so that connection you two have where you finish each others sentences and are just really close friends, I get that too and it really is awesome).
This quarantine has definitely been a trail for my family. My sister (who I stay with four days a week to babysit) got sick. So b4 her test results came back, she sent my nephew to his gma's house for two weeks to keep him safe.
Thanks for the video! It helps up see how other new parents are handling the quarantine. It definitely isn't easy. I had my daughter in April, my first baby, and I would agree that the hardest thing is not being able to share these moments. My in laws have all been able to quarantine pretty easily, but we've had more of a struggle with my family. My mom is the only one about to really isolate. My older sibling lives in Portland, Oregon and for several reasons hasn't been able to come meet their niece. I'm proud of them for taking part in the protest going on, but obviously travel isn't safe right now. My twin sister can isolate, but her husband works in the food industry. I've only seen her twice, which has been hard. But both times we meet up, we did so outside and kept at least six feet apart. The hardest has been my dad though. He's in the "herd immunity is best and masks are unhealthy " camp, so I had to give him the ultimatum. Wear a mask or you can't see your granddaughter. He chose not to see his granddaughter. That's been hard for me. But otherwise, I feel extremely lucky. My husband has been able to work from home which has been a huge help. And I love that he's been able to have more time to bond with our child. It's definitely been an interesting year.
We're due in November. We're planning on having family and friends who can't quarantine due to work meet the baby through our house's exterior glass door. They won't be allowed to hold the baby, but at least they can see them and our baby can recognize their face. It's just a lot to ask someone to drive up and stand outside during winter but such is life right now.
Love this!!!!! We are in the same boat with our little one. It is tough over all, but with an infant it is even tougher. :) We do alot of walks... but the afternoon/early evening rain showers have slowed that down too. You guys are doing an amazing job!!!!
It’s hard but it sounds like you both are doing great! Your little baby boy is super cute. I’m due in January and it’s been sad for me not having my husband come to our appointments. I pray things will change by next month when we have our appointment to find out the gender. I’d love for him to be there.

I think is all on your comfort, my brothers have kids and we quarantined for a while before I could see the babies again(I’m high risk, they live in nyc). However, people who quarantines just as long as I have, came to visit and stayed at my place. I also brought my whole family( parents & Grandparents) to stay with me before things blew up and that helped them stay indoors. After we all felt safe I saw the babies with all the freedom. But my godson, I haven't met because my friend doesn’t feel comfortable having guests yet and that’s okay too. So go with whatever makes you comfortable 🤗♥️
We let our kids play outside with friends on the block, but not so much inside other people's houses. Having kids that are 16, 10, 4, and 1 I have to get creative and give a little so I don't go crazy. But it's also nice having people that see things the same way. I've also had a mommy get together with the moms on the block outside in one driveway where we had drinks and food. We also stand outside and talk with other neighbors usually the women talk in a circle while the guys talk in their circle all while keeping distance and watching the kids, and then kids are running around playing water guns or riding bikes, or running around. Getting outside and getting fresh air helps so much, and helps make us feel like it's easier to stay home cause we're not stuck inside the whole time. Even tho were are home.
Today is the 1st time I came across your video. You have a lovely family. I think it's wonderful the see the effort you both put forth to keep your baby safe. I get really sad and sometimes irritated when I see young couples with their babies/children being to lax as if there's no Pandemic going on because they've gotten too bored of being inside. Children are resilient they will adjust to the environment you set for them. So keep up the good work. Btw has anyone ever told you how much you look like Sinbad 🙂
I live in the UK and we have eased the lockdown. Restaurants and shops are open but we have to wear a mask. We are still social distancing. Stay strong, it will get better! 💜 Jalen is super cute with a cherry on top!!! 🍭🍬🍼
I have a toddler so every morning if it’s nice I’ll take her out after breakfast to play in the park when it’s empty or we will go to the grass and play with her ball and then take a walk in the stroller and by the time we walk back home she is ready for a nap. That is how I have been keeping my sanity and staying grounded lol
I'm expecting my first and September and most things that I'm "missing out" on haven't bothered me much. The only thing I'm genuinely sad about is that my family won't get to spend time with the baby. Of course I want to protect my baby and they are high risk until 12 mos, so I know it's in my baby's best interest. But it still makes me sad.
At my dr's office and ultrasound appt he must wait in the car, no baby shower, no gender reveal nothing covid has stolen all the those memories from us , I delivery in 11 days, he will be able to come but I must stay the whole time, no leaving at all, crazy !!!
I am due in November and your videos are SUPER helpful so thank you! Any moms or soon to be moms have a game plan for how to approach their family visiting when the baby first comes home? Obviously washing hands & hand sanitizer but should everyone get tested? My family is working right now so I can’t ask them to quarantine for two weeks.
I feel you! Having a baby during a pandemic was not apart of the plan. I have a toddler (he’ll be 2 next month), and I was expecting my second child on June 14th (I had him on May 28th). Yup #2under2. I am a travel agent (currently furloughed) and watched the world explode with “the rona”. From 6 months pregnant on I was not allowed to have my husband with me for ANY appointments (and I was high risk). No baby shower for me! As far as I knew and the way the media portrayed everything everyone has the virus and I certainly was not about to get sick or get my toddler sick. My husband was not allowed in maternity triage with me when I went in. My coach was in the car in the parking lot as I labored to 4 cm with contractions 2-3 min apart. Girl!! I vomited while checking in, I had to do labs and have the coronavirus brain test done while in the middle of contractions! I almost smacked my nurse! I mean I swatted and she got out of the way. After 3 hrs in triage my room was ready and I could be united with what was most important.....my anesthesiologists for epidural, and oh yeah my husband. 3 1/2 hrs later my new baby boy was here! Finally! With no fanfare. Balloons? No. Cards? No. Visitors? No. Just my husband and I having bittersweet moments of joy alone together. I came home to my mother who was staying in quarantine with iris while she helped me nest (I physically couldn’t do it), and my baby sister who also helped. We FaceTime and What’s App the grandparents that aren’t local so they can meet the baby ( I’m in Jersey. My dad is down the shore an hour away from me and I have in laws in D.C). In less than 24 hrs of being discharged I had to go back to the hospital to be treated for postpartum preeclampsia. I was there by myself for 5 days. Away from my newborn, my toddler, and my husband. Visitors weren’t allowed and I wasn’t allowed to leave my room. I pumped every 3 hours everyday like clockwork to get my milk to come in and to keep my supply up. My husband was allowed to get the milk I pumped from a nurse in the lobby. I missed my newborn’s first pediatric appointment. Everything and everyone is good now. To cope with being in quarantine my husband and I have focused on making our house a home (we closed on our new house on Jan 31st before the world shit down). He goes to Target, Shop-Rite supermarket, and Home Depot like it’s his part time job. We’ve painted rooms, changed lighting, decked out our deck. We are only in phase 1 of our decorating. My toddler can count to 20, count backwards from 10, say and read the alphabet and read numbers up to 20, and he knows all his primary and secondary colors. Did I mention he’ll be 2 next month (8/15). He’s a quarantined baby so we have to keep him engaged all day. He gets bored of his toys so we fill in the time with backyard play, Sesame Street, and You Tube kids for preschoolers. I’m sorry for the long drawn out story, but I wanted to justify why we chose to have a housewarming/baby sprinkle this past weekend. We don’t know how long this will last. All we can do is be smart. I invited immediate family, in/laws, co/workers (who are working from home), and very close friends. My close friends all either work from home or are furloughed and have been practicing social distancing outside of our friendship bubble. Meaning we interact with each other and no one else. It’s been a week and no one has reported being sick. We don’t hug, we wear mask and use sanitizer, and absolutely no one was allowed to touch either of my kids (except for the grandparents that live near me and have been in my house taking care of me and my kids). I encourage everyone to be smart. Wear your mask, wash your hands. Assume everyone is gross and don’t hug or touch people. Don’t put your fingers in your mouth, or pick your nose, or rub your eyes. Don’t be gross. Knowing what I know about the travel industry I don’t see us getting back to “ normal “ for a good year. My advice is to create your own bubble like the NBA and live safely. It sounds like you made great plans for handling this! Like your little family, my husband and I only plan to let others who have been quarantining visit after the baby is born. I really wish that either mine or my husband's parents were retired so that they could spend more time with us, but my parents work essential jobs and my in-laws are back to work as well. We'll definitely require masks and distancing when we have visitors, and though it breaks our hearts, visitors won't be allowed to kiss the baby. It sucks. This is my in-laws first grandchild.
@@novasummer7976 yup I was like how did they kids this in editing? But I just chalked it up to mommy brain or 3am editing sessions. Its really nothing to get all out of shape over but our girl was over on Instagram freaking out. We all have them girl lol
It’s definitely hard! I didn’t have any family here for my daughter’s birth. My mom & sister saw her for 2 days when she was 3 weeks old. She’s about to be 7 months and haven’t seen any family since 😢
My baby shower was cancelled and my parents didn’t meet my baby until he was a month old. 😫 This is a weird time. He’s 7 weeks now and I am STIR CRAZY.
This is what most impacts me and my wife. Its the first baby of the family and my parents are down in Florida and they want to be up here in the northern states with me for those first moments of the baby. It was hard very hard to tell my mother and my dad that they will have to wait at least 14 days and quarantine for that time to be able to even see my child. I'm not sure how hard was that for you or how did that work out but I'm curious to know.
I have 3 kids that have asthma and we live in Florida so guess what we’ll all keep our butts at home lol.... my 17, 14 and 7 year old will understand it as they get older that it is all in protection..
Well...I really did not like all the visitors with baby #1. I needed peace of mind, was tired and didn't like all that visiting, people coming over 🤷🏽♀️
It’s so sad!! My boyfriend has missed 6 months of our baby girl growing because he isn’t allowed to any appointments... he missed the gender and everything. They won’t let us record or anything 🥺. He’s so stressed out over it

So. My bestie had a baby in May. And we have seen them. I think it’s all up to judgement. Most people are being safe. So why not see the ones you are close too. Now that uncle you ain’t talked too since the wedding? Nah but close friends why not. It is different in Cali but life can’t completely stop. We are all gonna go crazy.
A lot of people are asymptomatic. It’s not worth ending up in the ICU, or worse dead. I have seen no one, not even family in 4 months, & I don’t plan on it anytime soon. Better safe than sorry.
I've only seen family that I know have been quarantining as well. And that's been while pregnant, let alone with a child. "Why not see the ones you're close to"? Because they could get your new baby sick. Or you could get them sick
