I just spent the entire afternoon with my cousin and I'm 6 months older than her. We're both 59 now but I'll turn 60 in January. We're very different but super close! Matthew and Henrique are going to have so much fun growing up together!!

Yes, I said the same. I’m a nurse, a mom of 4 adult daughters and 12 grandkids. Normal noises are fine and it’s actually better; they will learn to sleep through these things. Also, a noise machine is amazing. All my grands have had it. The white noise(like the vacuum) is so soothing and they sleep so much better. For them also music around the house, bc it’s so important to the parents, he will learn to love and enjoy at a young age. But they will learn these things I’m sure! They are very sweet parents🥰

@@freedom4063she is feeding him breast milk…it is so much better for their immune system. He is getting the benefit of her immune system. Babies generally don’t get sick from just being around ppl unless they are sick…even then they get over colds quickly. It actually can build up their immune system also. Babies don’t have to be in a bubble…unless of course someone is actively sick, then I wouldn’t advise them going around. Nurse and grandmom of 12❤️

Sorry, but no, the doctor was *NOT* correct! *First:* baby is protected for minimum 6 months by mom's antibodies *Second:* the sooner the baby is exposed to real life, the better, to stimulate his own immun system. *Third:* There is a dog in his household. That means, baby's immune system is already stimulated to maximum. Keeping babies away from other people's bacteria is like fighting-training without training-partners: the first contact with an aggressor will knock you down seriously My son met his big loud extented family at the age of 2 weeks. I went there by public transport for a few hours. By subway, bus, train and tram. And he caught his first cold at the age of 14 years 😉

Yes, I remember that growing up when women in our family had babies. I also remember when grandmas used to stay with new mom to help with running the house and if there were small children -she helped with them too. All so new mom could concentrate on new baby and resting. Times have changed.

@@beatricehanley3542my mom came with my kids were born, and I did when my grandkids came. It all depends on the family. Family is so important and ppl need the help of the older generation. I am a retired nurse, and as far as keeping the baby inside and away from ppl it’s not necessary…babies that are being fed breast milk have a stronger immune system than formula fed. She is feeding him breast milk. So he has the benefits of her immune system right now. He will be fine. Of course, we never want to take our babies or kids around anyone that is actively sick…just as a precaution. But normal interacting with healthy family is fine. However, I totally get when they were saying that they wanted to get on a schedule and learn different things as new parents…so keeping him home for that reason can be good. However, grandmoms can be such a great resource of info, and love. I can see this family are kind and not overpowering. Very important that they support mom and dad and respect things the Dr tells them. There is research that shows how good for the kids and the grandparents to have a close relationship. ❤️ But I think their Dr kind of scared them and that’s not good. There was no reason, unless grandparents were sick with a cold or virus, to have to wear masks for their first visit. But the little cousin being sick is a very good reason to stay away until they get over it.☺️ This comment is not to insult the parents! They are first time parents and trying to do everything right…but I hope they can relax and try not to worry. They are precious loving parents and I can tell they are always going to do right by Henrique! This is a precious video and I smiled the whole time. I am a mom of four adult daughters and grandmom of 12, and I know the joy of being a mom and grandma…and it is so beneficial to the grandkids and their parents when we can babysit them when they are older…bc my daughter all nursed they didn’t stay over night until around a year when they were weaned. I would keep them for a couple hours for the parents to go out to eat, but at their house. Our grands are one of the biggest joys in our life and obv this family is close and very loving❤️

Sorry - but no. It's exactly the other way round: the sooner the baby is exposed to real life, the better, to stimulate his own immune system! A breastfed baby is protected anyway for minimum 6 months. I wish Ana and Junio would remember to where it lead in the maternity room, listening too much to doctor's opinions. The pediatrician was wrong. Following his advice blindly, is not a good idea. I mean, WHY keeping the family apart when there is a dog in the household??? 😅 And obviously is even sleeping in their bed! 😅 That means, the baby is surrounded by bacteria more then needed and is protected to the maximum 😉 Keeping a baby away from other people's bacteria is dump like fighting-training without a training-partner: the first contact with an aggressor will knock you down. A baby which is not given the chance to experience bacteria to train his immune system will be knocked down by any bacteria.

It’s good to be cautious around anyone that is actively sick. Def not take the newborn around…but she is feeding him breast milk…so he is getting the benefits of her immune system. That is one of the main benefits of breastfeeding. So his immune system is very strong. Of course, waiting until his cousin is healthy is best. But there is no need to wear masks around healthy family. Having said that I would still avoid large crowds or at the mall just keep in stroller. Don’t ever allow strangers to take your child. They will try to kiss and hold them and that’s not good.
