In a brief press conference in Ocean Beach, Martin and Debra Robinson talked about the deaths of their sons, Jake and Callum, as well as the brothers’ friend, Jack Rhoad.
@mercurial What an unbelievably classy couple: in the midst of their devastation and grief they take time and make the effort to thank people. Two amazing human beings who are inspiring in an awful situation. They did not deserve this. Wishing them a safe trip home.
@chichi775 The devastated parents must feel that everything happening to them is a surreal nightmare, yet they took the time to stand in front of a camera to publicly thank people for their support. True class.
I've been living in Mexico for many years. I love your country and it's wonderful people. Be angry, but don't be ashamed. There are bad people in every country. The U.S. has more than its share. I feel safer in Mexico than I did in S. Cal. My neighbors here look out for me. Didn't even know my neighbors in California. It's a very tragic thing about these 3 young men.
@@garycastronova7939 San Carlos, Sonora. There is a strong police and millitary presence here because it's a popular beach town with many wealthy people, Mexican, American and Canadian. There is some Cartel activity but you don't see it. Those guys keep to themselves and usually only kill each other, which I see as a good thing. I feel safe here, but there are some towns nearby that I wouldn't be in after dark. Like anyplace, you have to be aware. The Mexican people are pretty great.
Now criminals are going to jail & 3 young men died in a senseless crime, why would anyone do that, how stupid and evil for a criminal to be to destroy so many lives including their own pathetic lives
Godspeed the family’s healing. Their beautiful souls are a testament to the love that the parents gave to them. I hope they know how much the world is praying for the parents. ❤
Sweet people and parents. Its no wonder their beautiful boys were as kind and sweet with parents like that. Gosh. They even took time to thank others who are helping them and to bring their beautiful sons home. So sorry for your loss. Rip peace to them and their loyal friend. 🙏
My heart is breaking. My sons are almost the same age. I do not know how they can cope with this. I will contunue to pray for these dear loving parents. The sadness has overtaken me . I can't get them out of my mind. God please comfort all those who love these wonderful young men.
A wonderful tribute by wonderful parents to their beloved sons. I'm am so grateful for the incredible support given to them by friends and strangers. All of heaven's love and comfort to you. Writing from Scotland.💕💕💕
so sad, these young men were in their 30's just living life to the fullest, my heart goes out to the families and friends of these young men. Devastating.
Evil is out there everywhere in the world these days sickening to look at the picture 3 young men living their life's & brutally taken for what & why just a mindless act unthinkable
As Mexican, I don’t visit my family there from long ago, because I’m scared of have an horrible experience, and there’s no way I bring my children there 😢💔💔. I am so sorry for your lost 😔😢💔
This is unbelievably tragic. So heart wrenching. I just can’t imagine what these parents are going through. My heart goes out to their parents, their entire family and all their friends. So sorry for your loss. 🙏
The loss of these Mates brought me to tears, not merely for this callous disregard for life, but due to PTSD. I was robbed at gunpoint on the way to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca in 1988 less than two months after marrying my Mexican wife in Acapulco. Surfboards, water cameras, and my father-in-law's car were taken. We had to pay the police department to take action. A case of tequila & a big wad of Pesos...not kidding. They found the car in a nearby creek the next day. Looking back, letting the bad guys take everything was a small price to pay to be able to write this now. We still visit regularly, but Situational Awareness is on constant, heightened alert. Live your own lives accordingly. Take care, Internet people 💕
I am heartbroken by the loss of these three young men. I’ve had tears in my eyes ever since hearing about this tragedy. Going forward I hope that someday you will heal. Godspeed young men.
Absolutely Heartbreaking, 💯 ❤and Gutwrenching sadness for these families to have to endure!! Sending Love and Prayers for Strength and Eventual Comfort to Get through this horrifying tragedy of losing your treasured Sons!!❤❤❤❤May Peace and Love Be With You Always!! My heart aches for you 💔
In Canada we grieve the loss of such gifted and beautiful young men who died senselessly leaving the world to wonder the gifts to humanity that were never realized. As a parent that lost my only son recently I cannot imagine the immense shock and realization that your dreams also died with losing two sons. Strength and prayers in tribute to these incredible men.
Dear Debra and Martin, I am a mother of two surfers. They also go all over the world. My sons would have been with your sons in their joy of this fabulous sports. I am sure we will not forget them or you. Our deepest condolences.. and so sorry it happened in my contry, with a country fellow. A big hug, to each of you!
Tourists get their trucks, vehicles and RVs stolen at gunpoint in Baja on a regular basis. It's very dangerous and maybe these young men did not realize the extent of the danger. My heart goes out to the parents, family members and friends. Heartbreaking.
From Hermosa Beach in SoCal, we feel the pain and sadness for the two families of the three young men. Insidious, that such criminals would take their lives for truck tires … Justice for Callum, Jake and Jack.
So sorry, your boys are beautiful and they looked full of life. Jake must have been in residency, it takes so long to get to that point. The parents words touched me. Amazing that your son competed in a world championship! 💔💔The world is a darker place without these 3 men.
My son and his friends previously and frequently surfed at Baja, CA, but, thankfully, chose to not return due to these tragic, escalating issues some time ago. Sending sincere condolences to the families and friends of the three murdered victims.
🚫 If you don't have family, or legitimate business in Mexico, DON'T go there for any reason! 1) *Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean consistently take top 10 spots for global murder rates.* 2) Homicide rate in Mexico is *28/100,000 people, compared to US' 7/100,000,* despite only 40% of the population. 3) Mexico has *4 top drug cartels* in the world: Sinaloa, Jalisco New Generation, Gulf, and Los Zetas. Together, they're the *5th largest employer* in Mexico engaging in drugs, weapons, kidnapping, human trafficking, and murder. 4) According to a Newsweek article, between 01/2020- 06/2022, *194 Americans died in Mexico, 60 were homicides vs. only 7 in Canada with 0 homicide.* 5) Many *tourists have even been killed in their Mexico hotels and AirB&B's.*
May God bless and hold you in this difficult and painful time. As the Mother of a son who travels the world and surfs, my heart breaks with and for you.
The Lord be your strength to endure such tragedy...many people now around the world will not go to these unsafe places .....my son stays and travels alot in Mexico he knows it's very unsafe but now he just told me he is going to stop traveling after hearing about this tragedy....he said he was very nearby at a hotel month ago where these suffers were at ....he said he felt uneasy and that people who live there said that it's very dangerous here.😢
My heart goes out to this mom and dad and the family of the other man also. Senseless disgusting, violent murderers. RIP to the men that were killed. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So very heart breaking.... I don't think there is any word or action that can compensate this couple's loss or ease their pain. OMG. Their sons are so handsome, one is even a doctor. Such ruthless murders are truly upsetting.
I wish they had surfed un Australia or up north in California. I'm sad that my ancestors' home country is no longer safe- for anyone. Only pockets of Mexico are safe... Very sad. God help this couple mourn and grieve....
Now you understand why Mexicans are leaving Mexico. They're also tired of living under the violence and corruption of their government and the gangs that rule them.
