Well it should be criminal once they tried to cover it up

That poor mother having to stand there facing the media having to hear the word “decapitated” over and over again. My heart breaks for her.

Same hospital in S. Georgia delivered my grandbaby and allowed him to stay in the birth canal for hours and leave my tiny, petite daughter in severe pain, rather than perform a cesarean. It really should be criminal.

It was the funeral home director who rang the alarm. The doctor, nurses, hospital admins, their actions are abhorrent. And to see the young mother totally distraught is just heart wrenching. I hope that both parents get all the love and support that they deserve.

To have the parents of the baby, especially the MOTHER standing there, having to hear over and over and over again the word "decapitated" and the rest of what the medical staff did to that baby was especially inhumane. It is literally traumatizing for her to stand there and listen to that. May she find all the peace that she deserves.

I am SICKENED that this woman is still practicing medicine and delivering babies. All of those people need to be held accountable.

My children are grown. I can’t even imagine this horror, but I cry for this mother. May both parents get justice, compensation they want, therapy, peace and healing. May all parties involved with this baby’s demise, get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!!!

This is absolutely devastating. That hospital needs to be investigated for every death that's happened in recent years and that doctor definitely needs to have her license and privileges revoked immediately.

All of the head trauma and skull fracture just shows the shear force this doctor applied to this baby, which is just insane in itself way before she decapitated this little soul. I am ashamed that even the nurses tried to cover this up. As a nurse myself, I can't believe they didn't stand up for their patient and her child. So disgraceful.

My God! That poor woman has to relive this pain and trauma over and over and over again! The baby is at peace, but peace for her will never come. My heart is breaking for that mother!!

As a former Labor and Delivery nurse. Once we note a baby cannot be delivered vaginally a C- section is warranted. It can be due to the patient’s inability to push the baby out due to a small pelvis. We no longer do fundal pressure due the complications that cause the baby. He is so right about that hospitals negligence. My heart goes out to those parents. It’s so sad.

One of the things that bothers me so much is the fact that there were so many people in that room and not one of them stood up against the doctor and for that little baby. Everybody lied and did everything they could to hide the fact that the baby died by the hands of the dr. That baby was also killed by everyone that stood by and did nothing.

Grief like that.... Never goes away seeing pregnant women when they go out, always reminders of this traumatic tragedy everywhere. I'm so sorry for them. May God bless them.

How can the parents ever trust a doctor nurse or even a dentist ever again after this.

I need to hire this attorney!!! My grand daughter was injured at birth. They held her head inside the birth canal cutting off oxygen way too long. Causing a perfectly healthy baby girl to have horrible complications in life. These horrible things happen all the time. And needs to be addressed. I couldn’t imagine what this family is going through. They have the right attorney. He is going to get this family a monetary settlement. That’s a given!!! They should get a substantial amount!!! I just want to hug this momma. I am so sorry for this family’s great loss and pain!!!

The level of lies & corruption with this hospital truly makes me wonder how many times they've done this. My heart goes out to these poor parents , I can't imagine.

The doctor should not only lose her license permanently, but should spend a good amount of time in prison. Everyone in that room, and everyone involved in lying to the couple, posing the baby, insisting on cremation, etc., should never be permitted to work in the medical field again. This was far worse than a disgrace; it was an outright murder and cover-up. I am so grateful to the coroner, who obviously has a high degree of integrity, for raising the alarm regarding this crime. If it wasn't for him, those monsters may well have gotten away with this murder.

Hospitals covering this stuff up is not rare. I saw it all the time in my previous role. I couldn't believe how people would lie, to protect a hospital? Where is your conscience? It was sickening.

This hurt so much to see the pain in the momma. Please let her get her justice and the help she’s going to need. I can’t fathom what she’s going through. This is very traumatizing!

I worked 26 years in a large trauma center. I saw many cases of shoulder dystocia. Not once did I see the death of a baby. The hospital covering it up is mind boggling. They have medical malpractice insurance to pay for errors done to a patient. For the staff not allowing the parents to hold their baby is cruel. Praying for the parents and extended family 🙏

The staff propped the baby up...balancing the head on the body. So the parents could see......SEVERAL people need to be in prison for knowingly covering up a death like this!

I have been RN for 30 years. While I have never worked in L&D, I have worked in ICU. I can tell you that mistakes happen and the hospital doesn’t always make those mistakes known to the patient and family. With that being said, this is outrageous!!! As a nurse and Christian woman, covering a mistake of this magnitude up and “propping” a baby up behind glass, while placing the baby’s head in place goes far, FAR beyond the pale!!! This is a disgrace and I find it disgusting that staff participated in this. I’m interested in finding out how this was handled by the management and team leadership. Did they tell staff that the family wanted it this way and mislead them as well? Who was in control of this situation and cover-up? The doctor is a menace to society and should be removed from practice until a FULL investigation can be done from an OUTSIDE source!!! This is truly a terrible thing. This isn’t something that easily happens. I am utterly shocked!!! My prayers are with these parents. Tragic!!!

I'm so happy that her child's father is there to support her! I couldn't imagine going through such a nightmare alone. Hugs to mom and dad from a true place of sympathy and empathy. I pray for their healing and strength.

I knew someone who delivered a stillbirth and the hospital insisted the parents hold and see the baby to help with the trauma of losing their baby. The trauma of this couple losing their baby during childbirth and then the hospital lying to them and not letting them hold the baby is unimaginable. The obstitrician needs to lose her license and I wouldn't trust this hospital to treat a papercut.

Prayers for this family. Glad they have a knowledgeable attorney. This is an injustice, I’m glad he differentiated the definition of homicide.

This is so sad to see that mother's reaction. Her baby was brutally killed due to malpractice. I hope she is in therapy and getting help with the horrible grief and pain she is experiencing.

The mother breaks my heart. This is so horrible. May God help her through this pain. I can’t even imagine what she is feeling.

My baby got stuck just like this.....thankfully I had a doctor who knew better than to pull on her neck... he delivered her safely from under her arms. My prayers are with this family.

What I can’t get my head around is the staff telling the parents that they cannot hold her child and that they balanced the head of the baby on the baby’s torso to give the impression that the body was still intact. Absolutely horrific and grotesque!

It is disgusting what has been done in this hospital. Our family had a similar situation. The hospital made horrible mistake leaving my son paralyzed and it constant pain. I noticed the person they did instead of telling us what happened was they got lawyers. When I saw they got lawyers I knew they were covering things up. They changed records that erased notations which is illegal to change medical documents. It took us 10 years and sucked the life out of us and out of my son. They should be taken to the fullest extent of the law and licenses should be lost and jail terms should be in order and the hardest thing is a lot of this comes down from the heads of the hospital. I pray for you for strength because this process is so hard.

Poor woman, you can see how ill it has made her and standing there next to the spokesman and hearing the details over and over must be leaving deep medical scars across her mind, like chalk across a blackboard. The compensation will NEVER compensate for that lost baby!!!

*It’s not just typical heartbreaking grief, it’s infuriating grief considering this was completely preventable!*

I was stuck in the birth canal. I'm 58 years old and apparently rules were different then. My mother was in limbo for 42 hours. It came down to having to get my father's permission to perform a C Section. My parents were separating and my father had left the hospital. They would not go further to get me out, without his agreement. My mother died when I was very young, from cancer. One of my great aunt's told me this story. Does this sound right, to any medical ob/gun? Unfortunately, I didn't get to ask my mother, when I was told this, she had already passed. Anyway, this breaks my heart for this beautiful mother and father. I don't think I've ever heard a story as horrible as this. How will they ever get over this? They have my prayers. God bless this family.

As a mom of 6, I can’t even imagine nurturing my baby in my womb doing everything right only to have my effort snatched!!!! Being that i can relate to losing a baby during a full term birth, my heart fully breaks with her. My situation was different, and i am horrified for both parents. I’ve been a nurse for 30yrs. This is just the most horrific birth I have ever heard of. This baby suffered an awful death and this family has suffered immense trauma from this horrific act. I just can’t imagine the horror this baby and family have been through. The lies by the doctor and hospital is repulsive and disgusting. There is a place in hell for them. Those willingly involved in the coverup should never touch any patient ever again. Never be able to be involved in anything medical and some should be in jail.

This is horrifying. My daughter and firstborn grandson experienced shoulder dystochia. It was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen. The room flooded with medical staff and he was born blue. I thank these wonderful professionals in our case for saving both of them. Im so very sorry for this family and the additional layers of trauma they endured due this negligent homicide.

As a former healthcare worker, this pisses me off. How dare that hospital rob them of the chance to hold their baby after he died. They were more worried about CYA than these young parents or that baby. They desrve the truth. They deserve to know what really happened to their baby. I can't even imagine the amount of force to sever a spinal cord. Babies are super flexable and have very little actual bone to break. My heart hurts for that baby's family.
