Parents were scammed - fundraising (not astro related)

Hi everyone. I apologize for the non-astronomy related post. I am fundraising for my parents who were the victims of a horrible scam and lost all their remaining life savings. In his old age, my father is very trusting and believes anything someone tells him. Someone who befriended my parents and who they considered a family friend convinced him to hand over all of my parents remaining life savings so she could invest it for them in a property she as allegedly buying. There was no property, no documentation, and it was an outright scam. I only recently found out the true extent of the scam as my parents were too embarrassed to tell me.
We have filed a police report and are speaking to several lawyers. I have also looked at every other option people have suggested so far. However lawyers cost a lot of money and after supporting my family in any way I can all my life, for the first time I can't do this alone. I have been selling assets to raise funds but we have to act quickly as the scammer is likely to flee Canada at some point.
Any contributions will go towards paying for a lawyer and helping my family financially. Retirement after working minimum wage jobs for decades doesn't pay very much and I would prefer if my dad doesn't have to work to the end.
Every bit helps but I know times are tough for everyone so please don't feel obligated to help if you can't. Your comments and thoughts are appreciated. Just sharing this page on social media helps too.
