How do you guys apply the 80/20 rule in your day to day lives? If this is your first time here and you like these videos and want to get notified of new releases, then subscribe and click the little bell button.
I theme my days. Friday is FOCUS FRIDAY. On Focus Fridays, I perform an 80/20 analysis on my business tasks. What tasks are bringing me closer to my end goal, and what ones do I think are important but am actually wasting my time on? I also have a morning routine inspired by Hal Elrod's Miracle Morning - In 60 minutes I get a shit-tonne done! 10 minutes of meditation to clear my head ready for a productive day, 1 minute of moderate exercise to get my blood pumping in the morning, 10 minutes of journaling where I write down creative ideas, jot down my 3 most important tasks, and write an affirmation that is conducive to my end goals, 1-5 minutes of reading where I learn something new, and 1 minute of visualization to help make my dreams become reality.
Thanks for sharing Brandon! I might have to borrow an idea or two or three from there :) I'm always looking for ways to make my morning routine more efficient.
I am a very positive person but you can always better yourself I will be watching your channel lots of great stuff i see already its a must watch great job.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. These videos take a lot of effort to make, and it's reading comments like these that really encourage me to keep going and make better videos :)
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Just make sure to help people understand the terms you use. LIke, I had to google what's ROI to understand the point you were trying to make. Other than that, it was very helpful. Keep up the good work.!
This made me think a lot about paying attention to the small stuff- I have to really work on delegating my time. Great editing and really interesting topic!
Woohoohoo, wait a second. So, you are telling me, that if i eat less cookies and read more books, i will get thinner and smarter? This is like a new milestone for humanity. Long life the pareto principle!
If you ignore the 20% of employees who complain 80% of the time. They'll rile a portion of the other 80% and you'll have a strike going on. Also I don't think doubling down is that simple in ROI, I imagine it's ROI would be a bell curve.
Yeah I'm working on getting a better one. A seller from Amazon shipped it to the wrong place, so I'm dealing with all that. But thanks for the feedback! 😊
Positively Brainwashed how can this be used to grow a youtube audience? or is it not meant for that and only for using youtube as the audience building platform
There are no rules on what you can or cannot apply the 80/20 principle to. But think bout all the things you do that's helping you grow your audience, and all the things you're doing that's distracting you or not as efficient. The point is, to spend most of your time focusing on the things that are already working. I try to focus 80% of my time on things that are working, and 20% on experimentation.
Positively Brainwashed genius. i needed the explanation. thank you for helping me. i will spend 80% of my time doing the thing that is helping me grow my audience, and 20% of the time in experimentation. do you want to impact this community?
Positively Brainwashed if a person attempts to negate the existence of the 80-20 they can't. I have 125volunteers in a macro digital simulation experiment. they all tried to negate this principle. it ate them all and recreated itself as a positive effect built from them. the 125 included me and any 2 unknown people in real time. works like a charm
Thanks for the reply, I've been well aware of the unequal ratio for a long time. Some Pareto followers have even suggested ditching the least productive 80%. This is nonsense unless it actually is that ratio and anyway of the remaining 20% wouldn't 80% of them gradually become less productive?? My point is that unless a rule is actually a rule and not just a guideline, why bother with the statistic at all!?!
Statistics allows people to better conceptualize Pareto's principle, especially when you're digging through the various layers. And 80/20 is still roughly a good average to represent the guideline and more importantly it's what people search for. You could say it's good marketing. Do you think this video would have reached 12k+ views if I simply named it Pareto's Guidelines?
the news is controlled by the elite percent of the world anyway, they only really show you things to scare you because fear is what drives humanity to keep depending on the elite and the government so by giving up the news, you're taking back your power
Here's the flaw in focusing on the most productive 20% of your employees. They can't function without the other 80% and can't function well if you piss off the other 80%. Be real careful about how you measure productivity.
80/20 is a guideline. The main point is you shouldn't focus equally on all your explores. The reality is, many of the low performing ones are replaceable. The exact ratio will of course vary from company to company depending on numerous factors.
