Our Peter Parfitt KNOWS this Parf Guide System; to the "nth" degree! For I bought the system last year. And it is great. Now, IF you are in America, there is a company you can buy them: "TSO Product LLC". And they are great. Thanks to Peter; and a very Kind Sir. Cheerio, for sure!

There is the question of whether the PGS is worth it compared to the cost and speed of other systems. The cool thing about the PGS is that with it you can make all the other systems, if they should suit you in some regard, or to help out another woodworker who is not in possession of one. Sometime when I want a lot of accurate holes, maybe for clamping, it will go faster with a plunge router. I can make that tool with the PGS (Ironically, faster than I can make a pattern with the PGS). But I can't go in the opposite direction and create a PGS, or hybrid layout with a router system. I've only had the PGS for a few weeks, I hope to have more fun with it.

Great video and overview Peter! I love the parf guide. You nailed it in regards to value over time. Sure, it may cost more than a single MFT top you can buy from festool or one of the CNC guys, but with the parf guide you can make as many MFT tops as you want in whichever sizes you want. One of my favorite shop investments.

hi peter, even tough i didnt buy your parf guide (didnt need that precission and well, money spent for few holes on my small table) i did try to design and 3d printed my own version usind steel rulers widely available. in the end it certainly isnt that precise (last holes didnt line up that easily with rulers) but it was fin project for me. but i must say that its absolutely genius what you came up with. atleast i bought chamfer/reamer tool and its amazing too!

I purchased Mark 1 system along with the first guide dogs. I have made dogs, made probably 10 mft tops. The UJK dogs are on a par with the parf drilling system for accuracy. Supper accuracy, being high grade, not alloy or even 3D printed. Buy once, buy the UJK dogs. When I needed to set up my table saw fence, I made a 600 x 600 square using the parf guide system. Now my saw is square at last and can be reset in a flash.

Hi Peter! Great video! I really enjoyed your intro to the Parf system. I’ve purchased your book and the first edition of the Parf guide system. I plan to buy the second edition from TSO very soon, and wish you had a part 2 addition to the Stone Message! It is a great sci-fi mystery thriller, to be enjoyed by all!

Peter, it appears that your track saw cutting station is set on sawhorses. Or maybe not as I only see one horse on camera. Is this because you need the ability to move the table? I wish to make one large cutting station table and ditch my two torsion box Paulk ones. I doubt you have any flexing in the tabletop. Is it on a pair of sawhorses or something more? Thx, big fan of your work and products. Steve in Texas
@NewBritWorkshop

Hi Steve, The tracksaw top is 18 mm Medite. That is indeed supported by a pair of trestles howver I have 4 cross pieces that go across the two trestles to provide extra support to the top. I like this arrangement as it can be easily moved not only to take my work outside but also to allow a full sheet (8x4) to be cut in the workshop. I have a mobile cart between the two trestles which serves as a store for my short lengths of wood. Peter

I got a mark 2 guide kit for Christmas but haven't had an opportunity yet to make a new bench. I will be doing that in about 4 weeks when I am on holiday. I've watched alot f your videos and am undecided on what hole pattern to use so I may make more than 1 bench.

Hi Michael, I must confess that I only used my isometric holes on my previous tracksaw cutting station for just one project - cutting a bunch of 30 degree and 60 degree pieces for my shed roof. So, my current tracksaw cutting station is just a rectangular pattern but with many more offset holes. Cheers. Peter

Dear Peter I have a problem with the accuracy of drilling the holes in the center of the ruler. There seems to be a little play between the male-bit-holder and the female brass bearing. I am on my second female brass bearing guide. I have built 4 tables to date. The stainless steal collar hole in the drill-guide has become oval (for as second time). This cause inaccuracies, and I can not locate the pins properly without deforming the ruler. Please advise.

Hi Peter! Is there a straightforward method for calculating the correct positions for dog holes that can be used to tilt the track to be a certain angle to the fence, such as 30 degrees? Thanx! hb
@NewBritWorkshop
@NewBritWorkshop 5 месяцев назад
Hi Howard, With the PGS Mk2 it is possible to create holes on in an isometric pattern which allows both 30 and 60 degrees angles as well as (of course) 90 degrees. A standard rectilinear layout gives just 90 and 45 degree options. Peter
