Layton Exclusif was my first introduction into PDM. Nothing in their line has been able to touch this. Not even Carlisle or Herod imho.

Great review Sebastian. I’ve never tried the original or exclusif. Parfums De Marly is a house that interests me because of not only it’s theme of different breeds of horses in its marketing genius but it’s use of notes which don’t come across as being synthetic which set it apart from some of the other houses out there. I like the citrusy notes with the addition of the coffee in the dry down. I’d like to get my nose on pegasus, godolphin and herod sometime in the near future.

The original Layton is lovely but i reckon slightly more on the feminine side. Layton exclusif I wasn't so sure about at first but after smelling a few times i absolutely love this. In my opinion this is more suited for a mature male it's more smoky and woody than the original and longevity is awesome

Really would like to put my nose to this one. Layton is great but the added notes make Exclusif all the more appealing in my mind. PDM is my favorite house. I really enjoy everyone one of their fragrances I smelled.

I have decant of both Layton and Layton Exclusif and they are both rich and wonderful in their own ways. I like your note breakdown as well as your take on the seasonal appropriate use of either of these masterpieces. While Layton is very bright and alluring, Exclusif is dark, peculiar and mysterious in all the right ways. Thanks for sharing Sebastian.

As mentioned previously, I am a big fan of PDM - Godolphin was my first niche bottle and I got a 2nd hand bottle of Oajan plus decants of Galloway, Pegasus and Darley. This one is quickly becoming my favorite wearable winter fragrance. When i say wearable, i mean that someone in their 20s can wear it in business casual attire and never smell like an old man

This is one of the best releases I've tried in the last year. It really doesn't get much better than this. Only thing you could really knock it for would be versatility since it's a colder weather scent. I absolutely love it.

I have some samples of PDM all are great, live oajan, habdan and herod they are quite expensive, but worth the hipe..

Layton is Nice but pretty much A deeper more Opulent Sauvage AND NOT WORTH BUYING imho , so knowing that am i gonna like exclusif as i love orientals and only have gotten Herod which i love...i guess i have to test when i have a chance..

Exclusif and Carlisle are my favorite from the house so far I also have Percival and layton which I like as well. Tried a decant of kalan. Didn't like it. Will probably sample herod next.

i just got a decant of this & it smells strikingly like green irish tweed, like so much so that i think they may have sent me GIT by mistake.. does this fragrance have any similarities to GIT to your nose? i ordered it from the fragrance decant boutique & i have heard that they send the wrong juice from time to time, & i specifically got the decant so that i could sample this as i've never smelled it before.

I think you can pull of both in the fall but you should be able to do them in winter though too. Just play around and see how many sprays works for you in the winter! :)

Layton is not fresh to me. It is rather heavy and beefy. I wish the note of cinnamon was not so potent in Layton

Sebastian, i have Layton and Harod from Parfums de Marly. I'm thinking of buying Layton Exclusif but unfortunently the importer doesnt import exclusif only normal Layton. I Wanted to buy layton exclusif or a similar middle eastern type of niche fragrance. The winter in Lisbon is Like Autumn in NYC or Winter in San Francisco windy, rainy but no snow. Can you please suggest me an interesting sexy niche fragrance maybe more interesting then Layton Exclusif? I ordered already Jovoy Incident diplomatique. I own Amouage Reflection and Atelier ded Ours Line Feline I also love Andy Tauer L'air du désert marocain that I smell a lot, but only use it at home. I love middle east fragrances but don't know many. If you could suggest me one fragrance I would appreciate a lot and don't worry with the likes. I also have Tuscan Leather but I confess I was a bit disapointed with the smell. Thanks, sincerely, Walid (Lisbon, Portugal).

Hey Sebastian I purchased a tester bottle of layton exclusif, my bottle has a black tint to the blueish bottle, it's a little darker than my regular bottle of layton, it smell like the original layton but harsher, I don't seem to pick up the coffee note, I'm hoping its not FAKE what you think batch code (812801) thank.

I have purchased a tester of this myself and it's cool I think it's legit. You should be fine with it! :)
