I totally agree when you're saying that the history of photography can serve as a source of inspiration. I saw the amazing Chris Killip Retrospective in The Hague yesterday (which I cannot recommend enough!) and not only did it teach me once more how important moral and political attitudes are for the creation of a meaningful image; the exhibition also made me reconsider my own limited habits of composing an environmental portrait. And by the way - it's fascinating how those blurry foreground objects do not distract from the main subject of an image. On the contrary, by framing it, they even seem to make it stand out. There is a fascinating correlation between concealing and showing in an image. Very interesting technique, indeed!

Hi Andreas, thanks for giving your insight. I just checked Chris Killip's work and oh! My god ! I wish I was at the exhibition to see those images in real life. Thanks for sharing to the community 📷👍🏽 About today's session, I'm happy it brought some interest in your own photographic journey. It's the point of this channel 🙂

Hi, I love your videos! They are really a great with this format and your comments are awesome. Keep it up! I would like to know if it's possible for you to let us know how you edit the photos for the colors, or if you use a specific picture profile, or maybe a Fuji emulation? Thank you!

Hi Lazhar. I think it is important to practice taking pictures, no matter how long one has been shooting, and this video is a way of doing that and making it interesting. I practice verticals in pictures as I can overlook them sometimes. AI wont be able to create random events that take place on the street, although, we have to question whether or not to take the picture. An option for this video would of been to go to Roland Garros when a tournament was on. I will send you an image to the other place to explain. Have a good start to your week, my friend.

Hi Lazhar I understand this film as a free exercise for a specific purpose but I have a few observations: - covering heads, faces etc. by various elements of the city scenery does not seem natural to me - if we take a photo in so-called good faith, respecting the dignity of a person who is in public space according to such behavior is ok for me - I am shocked by the current mentality where image protection restricts the right to speech (when at the same time people themselves upload tons of their images to the internet), I think that the role of the media and publications is to shape a reasonable perspective and attitude of society, among others, towards photography - if we were to adopt the current schizophrenic standards - ban on photography and freedom of speech (with simultaneous unreasonable publications on the internet and omnipresent surveillance of cameras and other means of observation - which you rightly noticed) it would mean consent to further restrictions of freedom In general, I am in favor of photography taken with respect for other people (although there may be exceptions to this - documentation of special events) so that the 21st century can leave behind images that will serve future generations just as we do with photos from times past. As for digital manipulation and image transformation, the law should protect the citizen but it should also be properly addressed (e.g. not the photographer but the one who used algorithms to the detriment of the person and their image). I apologize for the long statement. Regards Raphael

Hey Raphael, thank you for pointing out those valid arguments. Yes, this pov session was more of an exercice, an experiment to push creativity somehow. I think yes that freedom of speech should always prevail and it's the photographer who should put his own boundaries within the limits of the law. As an example, for me, I prefer not to shoot homeless people and kids, but anyone can set his own rules. Bruce Gilden for instance has none "there's no ethics" he said. In the end, there's no right or wrong in my opinion, it's not like we were neurosurgeons. Nobody will die if we make mistakes 🙂 Photography is a big game and I treat it as such. i'm really thankful that you shared your insights and your views 😉
