I do not blame these horses for not wanting to jump. The conditions were awful, I would have scratched that morning if the show was even still on because I would hope it would be canceled.
1. the surface is terrible i can't believe they let the competition go ahead, it was really dangerous 2. spurs should NOT be used like that 3. can you really blame these horses for stopping? like why would you ask them to jump under those conditions, let alone get mad at them when they can't find their feet and stop?
I totally agree and I love the way u said spurs shouldn’t be used like that burger should a crop but if you use these things correctly as an aid if your leg and not to tell off or abuse with them then they are fine as so as a bit it’s the way u use it

I have to whip the pony I ride because she is so lazy. So many people are like,” OMG!!! THAT IS SUCH A CRUEL PERSON. SHE WHIPPED HER HORSE TWICE. OMG. THAT POOR HORSE IS BEING ABUSED!!! Their nerves are much more sensitive than humans, and you should NEVER punish an animal by hitting it, if you had kids and they dont want to eat their vegetables you dont start to hit them with a whip until they eat it. And horses have good and bad days too. So saying that your horse is lazy isn't a excuse to abuse it to go faster.

1:02 Sieht aus als wäre die abgestiegen.... das hätte man locker sitzen können, der Pferd hat ja nicht mal mehr gebockt und ich nur weitergaloppiert. Mal abgesehen davon, dass man bei so Bodenverhältnissen soweiso nicht startet zum Springen.....die Pferde wissen das besser als die Reiter anscheinend.
Das sieht selten so aus, da fällt man eher runter aber steig nicht aktiv ab :) Sie ist ja im Sattel richtig aufgestanden und das kam eindeutig nicht vom Schwung vom Pferd, das ist ja einfach nur gallopiert^^
Taylor Sprenger you kinda do, it's their job. Horses are such powerful animal, do you really expect to be able to control every single horse just by leg? You don't know the history of the horse or the rider, could be a horse that needs discipline (I've had horses that have thrived from a tap with a whip) and will behave naughtily if isn't told off. Don't be so quick to make judgments.

Zumal man echt sieht wieviele Stürze wegen des Bodens passiert sind und wieviele Verweigerungen wegen der Unsicherheit deswegen. Aber bei den Reitern scheint das Pferd einfach ein Sportgerät, was man ersetzen kann, wenn es "kaputt " ist🤦
Honestly I am amazed that the event organisers allowed the competition to even happen. The footing is awful and slippery, but what concerns me more is the fact that these people actually decided to do it in these conditions I am no fair weather rider but this is a bit extreme.
Lydia Goldstraw , it is very clear the horses did NOT want to compete in that slippery muck! They were not refusing the jumps because they were being “bad” or “stubborn”, they are refusing because they know the footing isn’t safe!

Taylor Sprenger not here to fight, so please give me a chance, even if i come off a little blunt. there isn't a white horse. Horses commonly called white are most often greys, cremes, pearls, or sometimes palominos. Now, based on comformation, he looks a lot like a TB, and since they are very popular that seems a safe guess. TBs come in grey a lot. The closest thing to a true white horse would be a maximum dominant white, or a Lethal White. He just slipped, and was down. He got up quick like most horses do. He didn't give any big fear responses. I think the rider was in his blind spot and he couldn't see her/him. I'm not going to debate crops, because _in my opinion_ they are aids, and are only abuse if they are used for abuse. That said, i respect and can understand your opinion. Hope you have a good day!
Lol... you haven't encountered enough horses in your riding career yet if you don't think sticks have their place. Used correctly, a stick is just another tool- an extension of your leg. Especially in that muck, I would be riding very defensively, staying back and anchored and driving my horse forward to the fence. Rather than loosening up to ride any stickiness forward, I'd sooner keep my hip angle close and reach back with a stick to encourage more go. There's a huge difference between hitting/abusing and giving the horse a message.

Wenn ein Pferd verweigert dann schlägt man es doch nicht dann wird es noch mal ordentlich am Hinderniss ran geritten... 3. Wer springt bitte bei so einem Boden... ganz ehrlich hatte ich mich bei der Prüfung angemeldet dann hätte ich von mir aus schon gesagt das ich da nicht Starten werde... ihr seht ja selbst was im Endeffekt dabei raus gekommen ist... (Reiter ist mit Pferd ausgeruscht... man da hätte sonnst was passieren können). Horses should never be jumped or ridden too fast in these conditions... the ring is too slippery and they could have slipped very easily... no serious injuries to the horses thank god... riders should have known better.
The most equestrians are usually smart enough to realize that jumping outside ,while it’s raining and the whole ground is wet and slippery, is just to dangerous.

OMG why do peple whip there horses just because they dont go over a jump doesnt mean you have to whip them. and if peple do whip there horses for refusing that is the peple that do not know how to ride or handle horses and is also being abusive. i am a show jumper myself and i have been to grand prix befor and the fei longies and am trying for oylmics right now and i have not whiped my horse not one time in the hole showjumping curcet, i have been riding for 4 years and i have not whiped my horse at all in all 4 years i have gave pats cuddles and yes my horse has refused tons of jumps befor but i just gave pats and kisses and cuddles and geuss what she went over. so that proves to all you out there who use whips the whip is not the answer.

horse lover and rider ja vôbec nepoužívam bičík, hoci všetci ostatný jazdci čo majú toho istého koňa ako ja ho používajú. Pre mňa je bičík nepotrebná pomôcka, veď predsa mám holene a keď je veľmi zlý, capnem ho opratami.

That show shouldn’t even have been on. The footing? Awful. That one girl who literally whacked her horse after it didn’t wanna jump, it’s bull. It is a wet arena, horses are gonna spook, deal with it or be the better person and protect your horses. If I had applied for this and it was raining like this, I would’ve stayed at the barn and not gone. Sure, it’d be devastating as I’d be extremely excited, but I’d rather my horses be safe. It’s not good.
A lot of rain, yes, but funnily enough there's not a single slipping seen in the video which indicates that while it looks bad the surface probably wasn't really all that slippery to ride on. The first jump seems to be in a bit difficult place to start the course for it's jumped straight to dark forest and cars which horses could easily find quite difficult. The amount of refusals and falls should be rated considering the amount of all starts and competitors, from a short video like this it is impossible to say if the amount of falls and refusals is normal or not.

Kurva, spamätajte sa ľudia! Zubadlo nieje žiadne týranie. Keď si zo mňa robí kôň srandu, raz za čas mu jednu poriadnu trhnem do papule tak, že poskočí od bolesti. Zavolajte na mňa ochranárov zvierat, pretože nechcem riskovať nikoho život. Stačilo mu do huby trhnúť raz, a ukľudnil sa, pretože prišiel na to, že bude makať či po dobrom alebo zlom :)

1:34, I don’t know who your trainer is... but dude, there’s a reason your poor horse doesn’t want to jump. That footing to so horrible, these people and riders obviously don’t know the risks and things that could go wrong. If your horse slipped or tripped and fell they could have broken a leg. People should have just canceled the show. 🙄😤😒
Honestly days like this that my show days are on are usually cancelled because a horse could slip and break there legs. Also I ride alot differently then these riders as I don't depend on the bit and I don't carry a crop as horses feel alot more pain than we do and I have been hit with a crop.

Ja som jazdec, takze ma teraz nesudte ale viem uz o jazdeni svoje. Toto je moj nazor: ludia tym konom sa to strasne smykalo a v takom pripade si myslim ze to bolo od tych jazdcov respektive majitelov konov nevyspele a nerozumne, mohlo sa tym konom nieco stat a kludne aj jazdcom. Ja som len chcela povedat ze v niektorych pripadoch su biciky potrebne ale v tomto pripade mi to prislo velmi neludske...
V tomto případě mi to příde dost nelogické. Když ona to řekla správně. A já ji jenom opravila ,že bičíky nejsou nástroj na mlácení. Takže vůbec nechápu proč jsem dáváš koment typu " vidíš co udělala ta p*ča ? "
You can hit them but dont ever wip them if they did not do somthing very very wrong like biting a chunck of you off or somthing curicus! Thease are just awful equestrains who dont know what the crop is for😒🤦♀️
How are they allowing them to jump there? It’s very dangerous with the mud! Both horse and rider and remember there is ALWAYS a reason why the horse doesn’t jump
