He write this song with the pianist about their friend who had passed away, thats why both of them are emotionally connected with the song.....his an amazing singer, he is Super Junior Kyuhyun role model and Kyuhyun also cover this song at King of Masked Singer, i hope you can react to that.....fun fact: Kyuhyun is also a really talented musical actor ☺️

December 2010 he went to military service he wrote this song he was in military and he met composer as you saw he was playing piano on the video. Six month before PHS went to military service his best friend/ he was famous(my favorite korean actor) actor and singer he did commit suicide without note. I saw Park Hyo Shin was carrying his coffin. Couple years before he went to the military he has spasmodic dysphonia. Sorry my English

Note: the moment he opened his eyes while singing this song, he will definitely cry. He wrote this song along with the pianist. It is about all his hardships in life and how he overcame them all. That's why this song is very meaningful not only for him, but for us fans who found healing with his music.

Yay! I'm so happy you like this :) You mentioned how this might be a boring reaction because of his magnetism and how it'll keep you watching but honestly, my favorite thing to see is how wrapped up people get up this performance, he really puts it all on the table and I love watching people see and hear the emotion. Also, since you mentioned your love for musical theater, I feel the need to tell you he did Hamlet, Elisabeth, Mozart (my fave! His performance of I want to avoid my destiny stabs me in my heart every time), Phantom (of the opera haha) and The Man Who Laughs (which, funnily enough, Kyuhyun will be taking his place in). :)

Even in the album version you can feel the emotions. This is one of my favourite songs of all time.

Such a great singer! Could you check Lim Hyunshik solo debut ''Dear Love''? He is from BTOB and wrote, produced and arranged all the songs in his mini album. The M/V and the song are very great and very overlooked.

I was caught up in his voice as well. I feel like this was an OST for one of my K-dramas. I was almost able to picture a story even without knowing the lyrics.

The reason why he doesn't open his eyes the whole time while singing is because he would cry anytime. This song is very special to him, because it tells about his life story. It tells all his struggles and pain, and how he overcame them. He wrote this song, together with the pianist (Jung Jaeil) to share courage and strenght to the listeners. I will borrow words from one of his fans, I am sorry but I dont remeber his/her name: The song is about all his struggles in life. His close friend, who he even called brother, committed suicide. His label didn't pay him anything for a long time, so he didn't have a chance to rent a studio to even practice. His agency forced him to perform very often with little to no rest, he collapsed many times and finally fell really sick and even got spasmodic dysphonia(issues with vocal cords that make them spasm and unable to produce proper sound). Because he didn't perform after that, his agency sued him for breach of contract, he had to pay 3 billion won, which is roughly 3 million USD and had to file for bankruptcy. I'm not completely sure, but I heard he was even forced to sell his house with all the belongings to pay up, it was a court order.This was all while he was serving in the military, which is mandatory for all Korean males, it lasts for 2 years. That is why he has close eyes. You were right, he really feels it.

This is considered as one of the songs that is hard to cover so everyone avoids it and everyone pick it if they want to show off their vocals. If you would listen to other idols’ cover of this you would notice how hard that last high note, he made it looked so easy.
