Brain at 2AM: Wake up, time to teach people some GAMES!! One thing I didn't get with Park Life, what difference does it make to discard early or late? If your 6 is the lowest and you discard 3 cards, you doing it early or late is kinda the same, right?
With the 0-10 cards doesn't matter if you less than the required number of cards to discard, so like if you win a 6 as your last card you cheese it out for free! But win with it early you need to discard 2 cards, giving others more of a chance to cheese out their cards.
In the Deluxe Hedgehog Edition, there are mini expansions adding face cards that are blank (no value, no suit, can't win, can't lead) unless you have enough cards to discard if you win with them. They are not all announced yet but (spoiler), J is 11 and requires 2 discards and has Jerboa art, Q is 15 and requires 3 discards and has Quokka art, and K is 20 and requires 4 discards and has Koala art. But they're only for experienced players because new players like spamming really low value cards and JQK wrecks that strategy even faster than cheesing out 7-10 cards.
Park Life looks so fun! The difference [edit: in the] hedgehog and people versions in the kickstarter are a little confusing, though. The bidding in DD reminds me of Parlett’s Ninety-Nine, in that you are choosing which cards in your hand to use as the bid itself.
Oh yeah, i think the creator may have clarified in a comment on here for the differences in the version. But you're totally right on 99 for DD! I believe the designer was interested in playing off that idea!
