A little interlude in the Hooded Nib series. Finally got around to a pen that I was a little scared to tackle due to a previous experience with very brittle celluloid that resulted in several tears for the departed. However, this one was a little more stable and substantial. It polished amazingly well and rewarded me with a mostly intact clip - just some very minor corrosion/pitting that is not that noticeable.
Barely produced for just a couple years, this cheaper, economic rebranding of the Duofold name was a valiant effort that couldn't keep up with the next best thing that was coming out - duovacs, vac fills, and and even the lever fillers. Its a fun addition to any collection and actually rights really well. It's funny that the cheaper models - Parkette, Challenger, Thrift depression era pen - had some of the most fun nibs, as this one is is fairly bouncy with some flex to make it a delightful pen.
