Without foreman Dean on the team, Parker Schnabel is left to deal with multiple things at once, causing him to slip up and do a rookie mistake. Subscribe to Discovery Australia for more great clips: bit.ly/DiscoveryAustralia
At my job the dredge operator had a BIG family emergency had to leave. Boss jumped in operator chair and broke 2 anchor cables in 15 minutes lol. He said "I'm glad I did that because I'd never believe it just happened if someone else in the chair." Sometimes bosses just need a reality check
Well at least he's humble enough to admit he fugged up... in my opinion the boss gets a little slack but he also could have went and put the fuel truck to the pump on the first notch then went and panned tailings... just a touch of hindsight which they say is 20/20
Mistakes happen it doesn't matter how experienced you are eventually you drop the ball to remind yourself. Parker has come so far in such a short time it's incredible but you can only imagine the stress he is under as well.
I am astounded why these machines don't have some seeming basic protections: A remote control to immediately shut them off. A sensor to detect a lack of water and shut down when that happens. Jam detection. These aren't hard things to detect or solve and would be cheap to implement.
@@Ithzzz I've worked on a lot of recycling plants and believe it would work out cheaper putting a bit of money into prevention that it would Cost constantly repairing
Knowing nothing about mining or managing, I think that girl should be foreman. She knows what a foreman's duties and responsibilities are and she works 3 dimensional, seeing and hearing what is going on around her.
They all have one job to do , load a truck ,drive a truck , drive a loader , why are they complaining about the new temporary foreman not being there to hold their hand
@@snoop4470 it was mainly that girl. All of her complaints was the babiest thing I’ve seen. Could’ve had her say all that to dramatize the show, but if not, yikes.
You'd be surprised how much having direction helps run any business. Have you ever been to a store where there was no supervisor or manager in for the day? It's usually chaos, because without direction, a lot of people lack the ability to conceive a plan or they don't want to do the opposite of what the manager would've wanted.
I love how they over react when losing 5$ worth of gold and 30 min of work time, there lives would be so much better if they just went with the flow and whatever happens happens, stuff is gonna break and not go as planned, if u stress over every problem ur gonna go insane over the years
I always feel like I can go up there an help with heavy equipment operating, not the best but I know how, Im young and just looks like they need a extra operator lol
I like how she is saying "its a simple job that could have saved a lot of time". She doesn't have to actually own and run the entire thing and remember to do everything especially when short staffed
You know I got to hand it to Parker taking ownership of his mistake and said I’m gonna go shovel he could have easily made someone else do it but he knew he messed up and made it right that shows a lot of character on his part
If they ever remake a live action ratatouille Parker should totally play the Rat and Todd Hoffman could play linguini Alfredo it would be a cinematic masterpiece
The best thing is. Parker is treated like an empolyee by his employees. He also accepts entire responsibility when he makes a mistake which is respectable.
She gotta learn her spot parker knows he did wrong and the last thing he wants or needs is a mouth peice but keep that energy without the venom youll last forsure lol
almost certain this whole scene was scripted with him panning gold, the show is real but they script so much bs in here for the average sheep to get a laugh out of
I hope that you understand that 80% of the "problems" that occur in the show are completely fake and orchestrated by the people running the program. You should look up how "real" reality TV actually is.
If I was foreman I wouldn’t have fired Parker for the mistake but I might have for calling for water switchon when he was still in the machinery. Nothing should start running until everyone has been visually accounted for as free and clear One of these days someone IS gonna get sluiced unless they start to lockout tagout
When you had people working for you and you being responsible for all the payments, you will understand why Parker has to stop and look at everything he sees to see if a catastrophe is looming. Easy to sit in an armchair and comment about ADD and micromanaging
Lucky for Parker he doesn’t work for me, he’d be the 1st to get fired. Based solely on his attitude alone. I couldn’t have someone who makes mistakes then gets an attitude with those around him. Basically his arrogance 🤷😐
The gal in the loader knows what she is supposed to be doing. So do your job and stop acting like you need a babysitter My gosh, there are tons of better-qualified operators that would love to jump in her spot. If she was experienced she could handle it without instruction.
Parker learns from his mistakes. He is tough but it is his money on the line, so he sets the tempo and the standard for his employees. If they can't deal with then th.ey should change jobs
