You are an absolute star, when and where I can park is something I've felt deeply confused about ever since passing my test and I love that you haven't just given examples, you've also provided an interactive quiz. What a great video!
I am a new driver and have picked up two tickets already but after watching this video today, I’ve binge every piece of information and I can conveniently say that it will be very difficult for me to pick another parking ticket.
Hi,, thank you for making such a great video. This is really helpful. You have excellent presentation skills and the video is very well made. Thanks for really breaking it down and clearly explaining certain rules and then sometimes going over them again. Your a fantastic teacher.
Well, that's the British Government for you isn't it... Why make something simple, when you can make it complicated! Actually I reckon they do it on purpose...make it deliberately vague so they'll keep getting money from people who don't understand them. Videos like this are like gold dust.
Saturday in london,we drop the receipt leaving the store. It was error. We provide our identification to enforcement and enter into the system and gets issued with the fines £150. It was "litter offence"
I have a question! If I’m in a controlled parking zone during the time when it’s not allowed for me to park, I.e let’s say it’s 9am-5:30pm and I’m in it at 10am. And there is one side of a road in the zone with a blue general parking sign 🅿️, with no time restrictions on the sign. Am I allowed to park here? The general parking 🅿️ indicates I can park here with no limit, but the controlled zone time says I can’t. Which one supersedes the other??? It’s not clear at all
Explain this Finnish parking sign (new line for each part): No parking Weekdays 8-12 Paid parking on weekdays 12-18 Does not apply to cars with B-class permit Because I read about a woman who parked at this sign at around 10 o’clock with the permit, and she got a ticket. 🙄
If sign says max stay 3 hours no return within 1 hour. Does this mean you can come and go as long as you don't exceed the 3 hours or say you forget something after staying 20 mins leave then come back for 5 mins. The shopping centre staff can't agree some say come and go as many times as you like within 3 hours as there is a huge selection of shops and supermarket. It's free parking now being ruled by parking eye so anpr camera up.
Thank you very much, have saved this video👍. May i ask about parking outside the hours in a permit holders zone .... do i still have to park in a bay or can i park across my drive that has no bay markings ? Thank you 🙂.
I am resident but i dont have resident permit and i got the ticket today..i need to get permit but confused between Resident Permits and Resident Car Park Permits..please help understand and choose the right option to apply..thanks
This video is really helpful. And a silly question some boards I have seen on single yellow line as 7-8pm or 10-11am, does this mean 7pm to 8am or 7am to 8am, like both are am or pm if only 1 of them is mentioned?
Number 4 means you "can" park for 20 mins between hours. Number 5 means you "can" park with a machine ticket between hours. If i believe what i"m seing.
Correct!! To expand on question 4, outside of the hours you cannot park unless you have a permit. On question 5 you CAN park outside of the hours for FREE! 😊
The "P" sign on a directional tells you where you can find parking. However, if it's at a parking bay it's typically private parking and there should be additional info nearby that highlights the rules. Check out this link for more info - hope this helps! www.britishparking.co.uk/News/know-your-parking-and-traffic-signs
@@kyleraghvani5070 You understood it correctly initially and she answered exactly! You can only park for 20mins. Then you have to leave. If you want to come back and park in that same parking bay area again you can't do so until 40mins has passed. So basically you can go away, come back after 40mins has passed and then park there again for another 20mins only.
As mentioned in the video, single yellow lines indicate restricted parking zones. Look for the signage nearby. These signs will display the specific times when parking is prohibited. Outside those enforcement hours you can park freely on a single yellow line without restriction. However, inside enforcement hours, parking is not allowed on the single yellow line. Therefore If you park there during enforceable hours you risk getting a parking ticket. There are exceptions such as people with a valid disabled badge (blue badge holders). Disabled badge holders: Drivers with a valid disabled badge can park on single yellow lines at any time, (so long as there isn’t a ban on loading) but they must still on display their badge correctly and are limited to 3 hours. Hope this helps. 🙂
